Now, what you have to do is mod some of those deep "box" frames (I am sure I have seen them in Ikea..) to hold your minifig collection, then mount it as kitsch wall art and everyone will praise such a quirky design choice! Welcome to the forums, I am sure the new trading minifigures will help you expand your collection even further!

How Could you do that to my poor Zach!! *thumps gate and slides to the floor, devastated once more*
-
It happens. You play with friends and they leave parts behind by accident (that is how I got a ninja headwrap) and do not want them back, or they trade parts. You could have bought one of the figure sets (simply a figure on a stand with a back board) and forgotten. I kept on finding parts I never knew I could have, turned out that it was my Dad throwing my younger brothers messy Lego into the nearest box when we first had to put it in the loft. Or the Lego fairy has been past and you never noticed

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
See, I am not the only one who is saying this! So far Argos is the only place confirmed to be selling them, which means you do not even get to see them in the box! (Unless they decide to make it faster and just keep them under the counter). Heck, In ASDA (the nexrt most likely place to sell them) All the Lego sets, from the hugest to the smallest, have the same sort of security tags as DVDs and CDs! -

Thanks. The idea came to me when I got the Ostritch race set home, I had been planning on making a persian version of a police car, but the idea of a guy on a big bird zooming about like a Bike Cop was funnier -

For now I think I am pleased to be trapped behind this gate... With some urgency I wish to check the walls my side of the gate, carefully, for some sign of a way to open the door. William, can you help? For now I think I am pleased to be trapped behind this gate... Lego discovery in the digital age
Peppermint_M replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The thrill of the hunt is still there though. Searching through the shop for a new set or theme. Going back time after time, to be rewarded by those glossy boxes. I encountered it this saturday when I went to the city, there in the lego section sat a large pile of boxes, all last years sets, but behind them was PoP! And new Farm sets and countless other boxes of new things. I had come just in time for stock swapping! Another good time was a chance trip to Argos, I was in town for Boxing Day sales and noticed that the shop was open, taking a look for reduced lego I spied the new catalogue and listed in its pages was Toy Story and Atlantis. I was very much "squee". The thrill of the hunt is only more thrilling when it involves Zoids (not in shops in the UK anymore, apart from those rare moments..). Now it will be a case of tracking down those PoP "battlepacks" and seeking World Racers come summer. -
Ever seen this man in your dreams?
Peppermint_M replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in Community
It is a Prank, a Viral "research project", a Hoax. One rarely remembers dreams fully, and this project used the power of suggestion to place "That Man" in their heads. I found out about it months ago on io9, here is a link , way back in October... So, is this relevant? I have "busted" the hoax, there is already a thread all about EB dreams and one about Paranormal nonsense... The only post of any releance to EB as a whole was Ricks Lego version. Sadly all I can see is this devolving into spam and shenanigans and thus I will close it. Lord Shaper would not be amused with such things in the Dreaming anyway.. -
Pirate bandannas work great for them, as would ninja headwraps. Use jedi robes for more torsos and use darker hair for the hatless. As for faces? Match the expression with the intent. (Face they pull with their "role" in the scene). Hope this helps All hair has to do is be the same colour as their facial hair.

Brickset reports a sighting of a UK date for the figures. (has this already been mentioned and I missed it?). Yay. £1.99 seems to be the confirmed sterling price. -
I got the pig farm and the ostritch race sets. I thought that they would turn up in The Entertainer as soon as they were on S@H

Right... I think I have composed myself enough now. I would like to carefully search the perimeter of the gate, the gateway and the floor around it for any possible catches, hinges, locks, buttons or levers that my allow it to move/open.

I am glad I was able to help someone. My poor darling Zach... I wonder, is there anything for us the other side of the gate to do?
-
I heard this too, that is why Cobi has a large foothold in North Wales, Lego just will not play fair with small retailers... Onto the subject of the poll: Once again the option to add suggestions means all the relevant, realistic ones get buried in an avalanche of "Make X theme" or "Make X Theme Again" and all sorts of other nonsense that Lego won't pay attention to.

Lego discovery in the digital age
Peppermint_M replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I said something on this subject a while back (I have no idea where...). I am not so bothered, sure the sense of wonder has gone, but a lot of the wonder the world held when you were a child has gone now. Explained or learned away. Not that I have lost all of my sense of wonder... In regards to Lego however, I do sometimes miss the wonder I once had, the race to Argos on new catalogue day just to see upcoming sets, poring over the little theme map on the instructions or as a separate page. However, these days I realise how many themes and sets I must have missed, which makes me glad that online resources let me find out about things I will want in advance so I can make plans to purchase them. My brother is a classic example of "modern", while I had to wait for the first set of the year, or a catalogue from a reatailer, he goes to brickset almost daily (he is 9) and looks on excitedly at what is coming soon (sometimes he sees it before me, as he gets home a few hours before me!) and tells me what he would like, what he wants to save for, things like that. The catalogue I get from S@H is something he wants to look at too, but there is never anything new inside.
