  1. Most poeple are priced out of it, it will certainly take a decade for it to be widespread once it is, well... It will revolutionise the customisation forum. Sharing custom parts files with each other just like decals. I can't see it becoming a competitor to Lego, just a boon to fans. Who knows, if it all becomes as good as it could possibly be, Lego could have PaB download store online, with certain bricks to buy and "print".
  2. I am unsure about landscaping so this was my best try. I am pleased with the result. Welcome to Ski Sunday As for the music, ever since I was small it meant skiing to me. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16
  3. Please notice that Lego and Nick have parted ways. Avatar and Spongebob did not do as well as was wanted, and now TLG are joined with Disney, a competitor to Nick.
  4. Maybe. I was a fan of 1.0 but it is an Anime and not one anime has been licensed by Lego ever,(Alas, I shall have to create my own UCS Tachikoma) it also lacks any real vehicles which is the second major point in Lego. Open digiworld and digimon figures wouldn't sell well enough, they want buildings and vehicles. Now, we can all just shout random cartoons and anime that we would like TLG to produce, or we can go through the extensive minifigure parts selection and browse the clever tips on custom decals and create our own characters from anime, then use the massive selection of lego elements to create a sutiable backdrop for our figures.
  5. Like I said, you can check Bricklink for a full parts catalogue, it will also provide some prices they sell for, eBay will also present some prices. Then you could stick around and contribute enough for access to the sales forum, or you could list it on eBay and know that ony genuine Lego fans are likely to buy an old train track as the new standard is RC and not compatible with 12v, the popularity of the non RC trains means that any casual buyer would soon be priced out of an eBay lot of 12v train track and train (especialy if listed correctly). There is a Train subforum where those more knowledgeable about such things reside, they could provide more information.
  6. Seeing as to me, Minifigs are the icing on the cake of a fantastic MOC, and I am known to eat chunks of fondent icing (flavoured with peppermint dontcha know) well, I love the collectable Minifigs (buying a box of each series, who'ed've thought that!). They are a great way to provide minifigs with parts and themes TLG would otherwise never make. Another great bonus is they cause creativity. As a child is much more likely to be bought a £1.99 minifig over a £5 set, they will then take it home and use their brick collection to make the minifig a MOC (because a lego man has to have something to be part of!). Seeing as these days many children seem to just build a set, following the instructions and needing the instructions, not stretching their mind to create something original. The core value of Lego.
  7. Great MOC. It looks like it should and stays together. Yes, colour is a big issue for AFOLS (unless you are a "big name" and then it is "a daring use of an uncommon palet") One great improvement I can offer is for the presentation: Use a white base under the MOC when taking the photo (paper, card, foamboard even a smooth sheet) it makes everything look a whole lot better.
  8. It's a jukebox, but I was not sure what to do with it, so I just sort of made something roughly "right" and left it at that.
  9. Tunes I wanted to capture the essence of the classic American Diner with this vig, I hope I was successful. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16
  10. I have my little brother's Dragons hand-me-down collection (hurrah for other brother's friends outgrowing toys) to thank for these. I wanted to make the crypt and was faced with a search for best lock army sets when he mentioned his bricks. I just love the creepy old masonry feel. Glad you appreciate it
  11. Four Children of the Night, deep in the crypt of the gloomy castle. 1/16, 2/16,3/16
  12. Another good way to build up a collection is to check sales stores that sell stock at reduced prices, although most sets that turn up there were unpopular themes, they still have bricks, figures and other elements. When cash flow was an issue for me, I managed to get some really nice Knights Kingdon 2 sets for half the price, and a selection of Exo Force sets on another visit. Here's a tip for bulk buys from people, especialy if you do it often: Clone brands can be easily sorted out and saved in another box. When you have a box load, donate them somewhere. Plastic in the "garbage" goes to landfill and takes centuries to breakdown, thus polluting the environment. Plastic bricks that are donated can bring joy to the less forunate and if given to a charity shop, raise money for a worthy cause. My own collection serves as "distraction" from my Lego, when my younger siblings have friends over, or my parents guests have a small child. They play with the clone brands and do not disrupt my nicely sorted collection.
  13. You can't post in that forum until you reach a certain post count, to prevent people joining just to flog stuff to other members. As for selling tips: Instructions are always good to have, as are all the parts. Check it all works. Look at eBay and see how it seems to sell and check out bricklink for price and parts guides.
  14. This gym is popular with those who prefer to avoid plastic surgery... 3 out of 16, this is using a two quarters wall for more MOC and more detail. 1/16, 2/16
  15. As much as I enjoy Discworld, I am afraid everytime I try to look at your figures, the brickshelf folder is not yet public (on either link). Perhaps a tutorial of posting images will help?
  16. Heh, I was a little limited by the five figures. I wanted to do something more impressive but things were not working ot.
  17. Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the 5th Wonder of the World! Sounds If you notice, the flags are the same ones I used for the Clown vig and the ring behind them is really rounded, using the 3x1 and cylinder technique. If I can get a tan baseplate, I plan on expanding to a proper circus ring for the clowns and ringmaster. 1/16
  18. If I presented you with a brick minus any LEGO markings, you would decry it as a clone brand part. If you are presented with a 100% Lego Minifig with a Lego logo printed under the arm, you decry it for some confusing reason... It is all the same idea, no fakes when the arm is branded.
  19. Thanks for the review I wanted this set so badly when I was younger, but I couldn't find them in any shops (apart from the small impulse sets I had) I was very pleased to find the set on ebay. It took me a long time to take it apart, but I wanted to use the sub front for an Alpha Team Mecha MOC..
  20. We may be three but we have the strength, power and honour of 300! So the vig/bigs start once more. Follow me for 16 days as I post 16 scenes for each of the 16 collectable minifigures. For this round I will be including suitable music alongside the scene (I am Queen of Soundtracks too y'know). For newer members here is the index for my series 1 scenes
  21. I wondered about that double M, heh. Fixed it. That is a funny scene. Good joke.
  22. That is a lovely MOC. I used to make those sort all the time when I was younger (Adventurers was basicly the best thing since the brick). It's a nice little scene, well done
  23. Great Britain is the Island, England is just one of the countries. I happen to live in Wales, which is addmitedly right next to England but is very different boyo. @ Teddy: Look Here I will go. I just need to find out how my university studies paid for by work fit into it.
  24. My box had three in. If that helps... Maybe there was an issue with packing that meant the spartans didn't get added?
  25. I am hoping for a launch date of 10th September. This time around I need am making a little more effort, so all are 100%. Not some duds and some stars like last time. This means building and post-production has to be completed on all 16 prior to the date. With only 9 left to process I will hit my deadline. Watch the Forums for a the threads
