I for one am glad that living skeletons have taken to wearing undies. This theme is worth it for the skellies alone.

It looks like next years gift of big sisterly awesomeness will certainly be from the Atlantis line (Last Year it was the Galactic Enforcer, this years will likely be chosen tomorrow at Legoland) because my little brother is very much a fan of sea creatures and monsters in his Lego. With Power Miners trailing off and all other themes not really ticking his boxes. I will probably pick up at least one of these sets, but most of my budget is reserved for all of Pharaoh's Quest!

Well it is a little off mark that you warn about it being confidential, only to essentialy double the number of times it has been posted while you do so. It's a polite reminder that quoting retains the image from the original post. I do hope, however that everyone now knows not to post the images on Eurobricks as it causes TLG to reassess their opinion of Eurobricks and means less awesome prizes for contests and suchlike.
-
So then you quote it so I have to take the picture from two posts? Guys, no image deeplinks of future Lego sets. Not until they are launched officialy. If you see them posted, report them so staff can remove them. Quoting them just doubles the instances of the images. I know you are all eager to see what is coming in the future, but for whatever reasons, TLG doesn't like their products being leaked ahead of time and it can cause a lot of trouble for image hosts and Eurobricks for such pictures to turn up on the internet. So far, links are acceptable but deeplinked images (or posted, for those unfamiliar with the term) are not allowed. Thanks.

Nice. I love leg printing. We might have to come back in and remove the picture later. I know it isn't marked confidential but sometimes they are still requested to be taken away.

So what you are complaining about is that these new designs do not have any technic beams and play functions. Two elements the majority of AFOLS make huge hissy fusses about when set pictures show up? I think it's a welcome return to a theme I loved with nice designs that have style over super function junk.

NO DEEPLINKING IMAGES STAMPED CONFIDENTIAL

I am interested by the skeleton armour. The weapons are another bonus. Those sets look like nice parts packs too.

Which in turn is a rather dreadful attempt to do Beyblade. Which was like, a million times better than any of this. I reserve judgement for the proper pictures. Whether it fails or flies depends on the marketing and distrobution. If you can't find them anywhere but LEGO.com then not many will be impressed or make the purchase.

Remember Chaps, as preliminary mock-ups, faces, torsos, headgear and "look" are not finalised. The mummmies look to all be the old movies one (which would be a cool thing to get)but might not be when finalised. Please do not express ire and suchlike if the official release looks different. Now. I need all of that. I needs it all!!!

3 Ticks and the treasure is ours!

You mean the palm leaves? Those are another useful parts immigrant from the Toyriffic set. They are a good quality and more robust than the old Lego palm leaves. -
3 Ticks and the treasure is ours!

Thanks guys. I wanted to end with a bang, so this being "best" (imo) I posted it last. I am afraid that it fell apart after the photo (critical failure of my first photo studio set-up...) but the treasures are on a small tan/dark tan alter. They are a gold goblet, the golden dinosaur and a staff (from a certain Toyriffic Castle set). I plan to build a smaller vig showcasing the explorer finding it, as he will be having many adventures in preperation for the future ... -
Deep in the dense jungle, three explorers tackle fearsom foliage, wickid wildlife and creepy curses to discover the lost treasures. The final Vig posted. This was the first I built because I always have loved adventure. Sounds of the Jungle A favourite track by a favourite group. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16,8/16,9/16,10/16,11/16,12/16,13/16,14/16, 15/16

It is a very simple custom. Plain unprinted bley head, bley torso, bley hair and a bley 2x2x2 slope. You can use different bley headgear and legs instead of a slope.

Penultimate Vig. I am pleased with the fountain and bicycle racks. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16,8/16,9/16,10/16,11/16,12/16,13/16,14/16

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Can we sidestep the Elven Biology discussion? It has pointy ears, hence it is an elf. If this is going to turn into the whole Spartan/Roman argument all over again, things will not work out nicely for those involved. It could be so much worse, he could be wearing a smurf hat and have a candy cane. Now, back onto general discussion of series three. The Gorilla is magnificent. The Aviator is fantastic. The Cyborg simply awesome and the Boom Box a must have. The rest are all very cool and certainly worth buying a box for. -
Here is the Minifig Customisation Workshop. Take a look at the tutorials, search the decals and generally acquaint yourself with what to do. Then you'll be making characters from your favourite films/shows/books before you know it.

Chaps, what we have here is something that is Pure Action Theme. Bright colours, Super action awesome, Slightly Silly. All ingredients of the action themes Lego has been doing for the past few years. You can wail and gnash your teeth and point to Adventurers, but that has never really fitted into the Action Theme remit and goes here as it has nowhere else to belong. My guess is that, like with comics and films. Ideas are pitched to the bosses and then you get the go ahead to work on certain ones. Someone decided to go with the absolutely insane idea, maybe to make another seem slightly more do-able, and as is the way, it was chosen for development!

Please remove deeplinks to confidential pictures. Or I can do it for you. We do not like to have them posted when they have the [Confidential] stamp.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Series 3 is rather awesome. A Spiffy Airman, a Boom Box! A Cyborg! An Elf! well, you get the idea. I am once again going to seek a box as soon as they are sighted. Ideas for vigs will be started now! (I haven't even finished posting the series 2 one yet!) -
Not the best of them (waves are hard!) but I think I captured a small beach scene half decently beach beats 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16,8/16,9/16,10/16,11/16,12/16,13/16

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ok, so my series 3 will be awesome. We heard a January release date? That is good, gives me a few months rest and saving time. -
Thanks! Only three more to go and then it is over until series three. The colours were a last moment idea, I wanted to use the blue/violet colour but I haven't enough of those bricks. I won't have a long MOC-ing hiatus like I did last time, I stopped to sort in time for these vigs. I hope it has paid off.
