World Racers Summer 2010
Peppermint_M replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
2010 is coming to a close and there has been no sign of more World Racers. In fact we are seeing new and exciting things for the future. Therefor I shall be unpinning this thread to make space for 2011 discussion. Feel free to carry on using it though! -
I think I may have lost count somewhere along the lines and mislabled these vigs. No one would mind if I went and fixed this?

Training in the pool, getting ready for beach side work. Baywatch was a big part of my saturday evenings when I was a child. I was quite pleased when my parents bought me Baywatch Ken, with jet ski and life float. He has a full uniform! I called him Mitch and he was my favourite... So the theme song was a no brainer for this vig! 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16,8/16,9/16,10/16,11/16

Eurobricks Event 2011 in Windsor
Peppermint_M replied to Ras 74's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Wonderful news everyone! Due to not so epic fail, but still fail, I have to resit one module of my course. Thus i learn for but 2 hours a day on a Monday. So 2-5 is a-ok. Sadly course dates mean no Brick World unless I can finish with success and be allowed to escape early from the course. If anyone wants Welsh themed stuff, local beer or clone brands let me know and I can bring some! -
Force 4 Gale from a Westerly Direction
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It was an attempt at forced perspective. There was one to many to make a Scottish Play reference and I thought it would all get too meta if they were auditioning on the West End. -
Cobi 1x1 double studded "rounds", they were provieded in the Roman set simply to make columns out of hollow tubes!

I suppose the versus creatures things follows the trend that started a while back (not sure entirely where, but there was a point where all combat was changed to mythic) Baron, Sam and Alexis belong in the past, when minifig was allowed to compete with minifig. I should pick up a selection of the figures and sets to go with my collection and the new ones.

Collectable Minfigures: Worth the Hype?
Peppermint_M replied to Derek's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think you should keep in mind that Distrobution isn't all Lego. Stores have to order the figures to sell, I may have no clue about shop policey and whathaveyou, but I have personally noticed that series one was in adundance in one ASDA superstore, but in my local Superstore, there is no sign of the figures. -
Are they just building this theme on Rule of Cool? If so, it isn't a problem to me! I want pictures!

Thanks for the news! Oh, I am misty eyed for a return of Egyptian Adventures. They were my fondest sets, my favourite things. The varia-coloured pyramids I built, the odd looking super adventure cars I "swooshed". I anticipate this with nostalgia tempered with realistic thoughts. Pictures will help me decide if it is overly violent, but then Sam Grant had a pistol and rifles. I can't wait to head out into the desert once more.

Five Steps to Enlightenment through Combat
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Town
Afraid not. I haven't the space or the parts to make a diorama for all the figures at once. Unless I went to 4x4 plates as bases -
I belive this belongs in the Other Themes subforum, I shall move it there momentarily.

My friend Jonny is a film student at University (coincidentaly the same one where I study engineering) and he made this short film using his old Lego collection. Just an FYI, I do not have an accent like that, (I am "posh" in the estimation of my peers). Myself and a mutual friend of ours have speculated on what could occur if we combined my collection and all his film making things. The result would possibly be awesome, but has been filed away for a later date. I hope you enjoy the video.

Here is a handy tutorial on re-sizing images. It helps our members with slower connections and graphics drivers! A clever effort, and with less colours it could even look like one of the "classic" set designs of the past. If gathering parts in the right colour is an issur, take a look at bricklink to collect exactly what you need.

In the training dojo, the four masters train while the fifth master returns with his latest prize. Music I understand the music isn't accurate, but it is funny. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16,8/16

Just a quick FYI: Competitor brands include: Cobi, Megablocks, Bestlock, Oxford and FIA. "Brands" such as Enlighten, Shifty and Brick are bootlegs of Lego and other competitor brands. Sluban is a bootleg of Oxford. Competitor brands are legal and design their own products. Bootlegs steal designs and graphics to create vastly inferior products. There are some grey area "brands" out there including MY, that import generic sets that are of decent quality but can be found under a variety of brand names. Brick Arms and other such custom creators are another grey area, they compliment Lego and (at the moment) do not compete with Lego. Like burger relish adds a little extra to a hamburger, BA, BF and other such "homebrew" add flavour to a MOC. _________________________________ Now that that's out the way: This ruling means that other brands now have an opportunity to expand to markets without threat of a big "Cease and Disist" (or whathaveyou) chopping them off just when risks start making returns. I hope it means I can get hold of Cobi, Bestlock and FIA in more places. At the moment I have trouble tracking it down and the selection is always limited.

Build-A-Trent99 Please stop the random "I wants" you are beginning to sound like you are too young for this forum. We would all like TLG to create themes based in whole or in part on themes, shows and franchises we like. However it is unlikely to happen. As I said before, head over the the Minifig Customisation Workshop, get collecting useful minifig parts and make your own representations of characters and MOC their vehicles and scenes. You'll find it a lot more fun than posting random shows on the internet.

Pop Princesses, the latest girl group to take LegoWorld by storm have added more dates to their Pop Royalty tour! This track was in the charts when I was at the age where all small girls like rather silly music. Halfway there and I decided to post one of the more detailed builds. 1/16, 2/16,3/16,4/16,5/16,6/16,7/16

Does anyone know where I could find Lego knock-offs
Peppermint_M replied to ThePurpleLegoBrick's topic in Community
Afraid I can't help with stores in the US. eBay has a lot of cheap clone brands often enough. Search terms like "fits lego", "like Lego" and "Lego Compatible" always bring up a few brands and sets. In my experience, they are rarely overly costly. -
