  1. We'll miss you guys, but babies do need a bit more concern thank LEGO! Hopefully you can all come to a future event so Anna can get all the fuss
  2. Wow, those saya are lovely (Is there a Korean equivalent word?) and the swords have lovely tsuba, much more interesting than the LEGO katana have. I love Oxford for their minifig accessories. Looks like I will be making a go at getting some more town and historic sets. I nipped in to mention that Cobi and Bestlock have got some nice motorcycles out there. While LEGO have been doing well with more fairings these manufacturers have some bikes that look pretty nice as vintage cycles (Think Norton, Triumph and BSA).
  3. Picture Link A toyshop that closed down in 2009 has been discovered to have a trove of vintage toys I linked in what is the best picture to me (Jaw off the floor, mop up the drool ) though this is worth a look by Star Wars fans and any toy collector. (Linked as it was a huuuge photo) It makes you wonder what is hidden behind the boarded windows of any closed down shop. Now to keep an eye out for the auction listings to maybe get a web bid in...
  4. The Last Word to be considered is this: Locked.
  5. Well, they both went out with a big bang in the end right? But Sinclair ended it with firey explosion vengeance, so pretty cool in my book! Also kudos for knowing both of them!
  6. The extra depth has been excellent! Now I am a positive role-modelTM
  7. Wales isn't knows for earthquakes! One very frustrating thing is this: a large and unsorted collection is impossible to work with.
  8. Trying to think if I have trades this year. I am sorting all of my bricks and held off on the set buying of late...
  9. *-Does It is Fantasy, not realistic in any form. Magical weapons with elemental powers is not a nuclear bomb. Knights with pikes staving off Orcs is nowhere near real life. Piracy depicted in the LEGO sets are so historic as to be romanticised. It is no longer real. Piracy these days is men in speedboats with automatic weapons taking hostages, not some swashbuckling rogue tweaking the nose of the East India company or Privateers chasing down Spanish gold ships (What Piracy of the past has been downgraded to.) If you get down to it Bionicle is pretty violent too. I saw a TV ad that was a little surprising. Whereas when I was a kid and Bionicle was new and each toa was showcased "enjoying" their element (Tahu was lava surfing, Gali was swimming, Pohatu was kicking a boulder about etc) This time hordes of "baddies" battled the "goodies" But it was clearly a fantasy scenario and not some modern and real conflict.
  10. "Oh, I do enjoy a good circus! " Tesni laughed.
  11. I wanted to see the new Cinderella because LOOK AT THE COSTUMES!!!! So me and my sisters went and enjoyed it. Everyone knows exactly how the story goes, but it wasn't why we went, it was told in an enjoyable way with some variety to make it interesting. A lot of happy little girls at the end and an orchestral arrangement of Lavender Blue I am dying to find a recording of. It was fun spotting filming location bits we recognised too.
  12. Ohh! Despecialised? I have to watch those. I remember the quiet disgust in the room when we saw the "remastered" ending scenes of Return of the Jedi as we marathon watched Star Wars at my friends house. Oh, and Toasalvus, please quit arguing. It is easy, you just stop. Everyone else: Leave him be. We don't need a flame war (Cos flip, it must be serious if I am posting in a Star Wars thread!)
  13. Build a MOC that looks enough like the coveted set that I feel a bit better about missing it is the best solution I have found. While it isn't quite the same (and there isn't the minifigures either) I am happy to know I am not constrained like the set designer when making something like the set. After all, they have to consider LEGO rules for building, part counts and the fact that kids are to build and play with them. Plus they sometimes return in another form if you are patient!
  14. I am terribly inaccurate! I just sketch out ideas when I have no chance to build and then create as I go (With a helmeted Crash Test Dummy figure as the prototype pilot/driver!) The best I get is graph paper for a build-sketch that is going to live on a baseplate.
  15. You resurrected this thread to add that? Really? Please: Stop. Think. Think Again Before Topic Revival.
  16. I would feel so refreshed t'were not for my stinking cold virus! Lovely colours.
  17. I think this would fit better in the Town subforum. So I will be moving it there in a moment.
  18. While it is good to post when there is something to add, that is near like to like and this is a thread now over three years old. Please think and think again before topic bumping please.
  19. Detail underneath? Impressive! That is a sharp looking truck, nice colours too.
  20. Okay, so I forgot the fact that it was Xtreme stunts... It looks like you have parts from the Beach Cruiser. The sail is an older part though, the first were from 1992!
  21. Those are nice new designs. Still not sold on two-tone headwraps though.
  22. "Well, they were certainly right about otherworldly beauty." Tesni chuckled from her seat. Blonde really was such an attractive hair colour after all. Though it probably was not the done thing to flirt with a living legend. The Dragonlord wouldn't have liked it for a start if fangirling was out of the question even.
  23. They all are LEGO. That is a technic wheel and tyre, and a windsurfer sail placed upside down on the mast. From an Island Extreme stunts set by the looks of them.
  24. Once again Whitefang has made some excellent reviews of two more 2015 Ninjago sets. This wave has really been fantastic, so take a look for yourself! Jungle Raider Electro Mech
  25. Sets not Movies. Set features = fine. Movie plotline = Not for here.
