  1. Like I said, it all depends on what colours you want. Ninjago had plenty of lime and white parts in the sets I bought for that purpose, Chima had tans and browns I wanted. On clearance they made sense at the price to build up my colour banks. I am not a Harry Potter fan but I bought the Knight Bus for all the lovely purple. You can always sell on minifigs to finance new sets or to offset the cost of what you've bought.
  2. Some of it is watchable. If it had remained as five minute shorts it would have been entertaining. However a thirty minute, well plotted and interesting series that sat as a worthy successor to the Timm/Dini DCAU was cancelled on a cliffhanger and replaced by Teen Titans Go! It my be circumstances were arranged like this, or just a coincidence but it puts fans of the previous (and old TT series) on a bad start. DC haven't just dropped the ball. They've handed it over to Marvel in gift wrap and sat down on the pitch.
  3. Depending on the parts you want then PaB or Classic can help. If you want other shapes then examine the themes and keep an eye out for sets going on clearance. I have a lot of colours after grabbing Ninjago on clearance. Mixels are awesome for certain shapes and colours too! If possible, keep a lookout at discount stores, some of them have odd sets at a decent price.
  4. Seriously? Does this affect the LEGO sets? They're LEGO figures, there is no possible way to have family resemblance between them. (What with the lack of chin, nose, ears and brow) Heck, put a head on a new torso/leg combo and with a different headgear and you have a whole new character. So, take it to culture and multimedia.
  5. Well, no laptop means Peppermint watches her anime dvds. Just finished Ghost in the Shell: Innocence having watched the original last night. These two films are art at its finest.
  6. That is a bohrok (possibly spelled different) from Bionicle. Some of the other bits are also Bionicle and q few click joints from Exo Force.
  7. M'kay we're above personal attacks alright? Please & thank you. Mainly to stay nice, I didn't mean to start anything nasty with that post, just make my distaste at the action known. Cheers
  8. Do you possibly mean Thread or Topic? Users can't alter the structure of the site by adding a new forum. You can Post A New Topic using the button in the right forum for the subject you wish to discuss.
  9. Guys. Can you natter about Marty Stus (or Wesley Crushers) and media stuff that really has no bearing on the toys, somewhere else. Thanks.
  10. Wow. And here I thought she just used a little skeezy titillation (lit and fig.) To get viewers. Going to say most of my fellow AFFOLs I've met have been so much nicer.
  11. The forum upload space is for a user image/avatar. If you want to post more pictures you can embed from an external source. That is a great "inheritance"! My uncle sold all his LEGO to buy a bike when he was a teenager. Hmph.
  12. Once upon a time LEGO sold wooden toys and other plastic toys as well as plastic bricks, so they were sold as LEGO Mursten. I think it hung around until they stopped making wooden toys and things that are not related to the bricks.
  13. Mursten. Take a guess on that one! Or Castle Melyn is another I used. That one is based on the fact that Welsh names for towns were sometimes anglicised not translated. Yellow Castle is Castell Melyn in Welsh and basic anglicised it becomes Castle Melyn
  14. You could even comfortably house a Fabulander there. Nice little set. With a palette change it could go historic or modern or any number of things. Just goes to show how variable LEGO is.
  15. Thanks CopMike! Mine popped through the door today.
  16. BrickQueen has a history of this. I'd say be careful what you say here, or there may be some complaint! There are many reasons I use YouTube as a radio substitute and nothing more. This is one example.
  17. Oh, the speculative collectors market bubble might burst, like comic books did in the past. Or it could hold at a slightly lower, more sensible price, as with action figures. I hope things do get more affordable on the secondary market.
  18. "So, fish dinner tonight anyone?" OOC: My laptop is giving up the ghost, won't connect to the internet/WiFi. I have my phone though, so I should manage some access. Hopefully I can get the problem sorted/replace the laptop soon. If my response time is too slow or choppy, just arm 'er up and point Tesni at something to hit! (Laptop issues Suuuuuck!!!)
  19. You are indeed a kind and merciful QM!
  20. I have no idea. There are a few older threads here and there. Bonepart might have some more information, once you have ten posts you can PM him.
  21. Or the Fabuland Fan from the LEGO Movie set which name escapes me.
  22. "Eesh, that wasa big badaboom." Tesni smacked her forehead a few times to try and dislodge the ringing in her ears. Fàelàn, Lucky Rabbit C
  23. "No matter! Fàelàn, time to take a bear!" Fàelàn, Hungry Bear
  24. Dragons 2 was a poor showing, not as good as the first and should have been the one not nominated so TLM had a space. (So many problems with that film, so so many). But with Dreamworks behind it, well, Song of the Sea was art and thus got in over what was deemed an extended commercial for a toy. When three of the spaces were taken up by the bigger name studios (Disney, Dreamworks and Ghibli...) then there isn't much room for outliers. The Book of Life was fantastic but ignored. Like I said, industry awards count more when it come to Animation than the Academy.
