Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain

"Let us visit Lady Thisbeen then. We can stop off at the smithy too, they've always got their ear to the gossip and can hammer up a good blade too. Not to mention they work with the sparkly stuff." -
Why thank you. Feel free to take her. She's up for adventure and I am happy to share . I make a lot of figures, most of them never get photographed, it is my stress-ball alternative when I feel I need to unwind I make a few figures. Plenty! There is a plane I need better photos of, a number of original character figures (Good, bad and next generation characters for the original Adventurers) and another boat. I also have a nice big ruin in a jungle to finish off and a heap of plans for new MOCs. Adventurers is really my favourite theme to build in.

I've been making a lot of minifigures and it is high time to post some that have been on my harddrive for months! These three were an effort to make more female characters from an Action & Adventure Theme. It is a shame that the ratio seems to be around five guys and one girl with named character releases, most of the sub-themes have at least one female character. Reasons aren't important as to why there are so few and it was easy for me to make these from my collection. So on to the figures! Tia Thwait-Fuller Daughter of a well known archaeologist-adventurer and a respected historian, Hypatia ‘Tia’ Thwait-Fuller took after her father more. Libraries, archives and curating collections were her future and she loved it. However when a mystery map with a riddle and a story was uncovered in an old storage room, Tia began to obsess about solving it and finding where the map led. With her parents busy she decided to take off on an adventure of her own. She appeared in my MOC of an All Terrain vehicle Gelert. After getting the lady scientist CMF I had a head for the bookish character and built the rest around that. There is a lot of Twilight Sparkle about this character, with a hint of Evelyn Carnahan and just a little ‘hidden depths’ from Lirael. I used a torso from Pharaoh's Quest, CMF Librarian hair and the Map from Pirates of the Caribbean. Eleri She only goes by one name. Part mercenary, part adventurer and all independent. There are few clues as to Eleri’s past. Rumours have it that she is an heiress of titles and money who rebelled and ran away to the far-east. Whatever her past, Eleri is known as an expert tracker and outdoor survivor who’ll hire herself out more for the thrill than the payday. Also appeared in the Gelert car. I originally built this figure as a fighter of monster mutant plants in a posing/forced perspective MOC experiment that didn't go so well. There was basically a lot of homage to Ellen Ripley (in fact when my brother in law was having a nose at my LEGO he asked why I’d made a Ripley figure.) in the creation of a figure to fight mutant plant monsters. When that didn't work she became an adventurer. Chuck some Tomb Raider and a healthy dose of any runaway-rebel-rich-girl you can think of to get the character I was aiming for. Dino trousers, the CMF swimmer's torso, Space Heroine head and Frodo's hair. The machete is of course Brick Arms. Dr. Regina Thwaite-Fuller Adventurer, wanderer, a society lady that her peers both admire and stare aghast at. She set out for fun and discovery and gathered some extras on the way. Now having collected a doctorate and a family she is slightly less reckless and the handy firearm takes care of the other threats. The bone-kicking business can get a little exciting after all. This figure came about when I wanted to make a Mustrum Ridcully type character with a twist. Monster Fighter characters remixed into something new. With hints of a few female characters from fiction and history (Or, the popular perceived image of certain historical characters). A Monster Fighters head and torso, Indy legs all combined to make a character that, on reflection, might be a bit over-armed...

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I will have a pick through some of those titles suggested (It all relies on what is on Netflix when I take a look). I guess my older list is well back when I started the thread! (O gosh, nearly six years ago!) Zoids Chaotic Century and Guardian Force, Macross/Robotech, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, The Cat Returns, Full Metal Alchemist (in part) and Brotherhood, The Big O, Ah! My Goddess, You're Under Arrest, Urusei Yatsura, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, Muteki Kanban Musume, Buso Renkin and Excel Saga would be my picks as Must Watch. All these from back in the backness when I watched a lot of anime. Certainly worth a watch if you've not seen them before. -
Oh yes also: Cheers Holodoc, now I don't have to muck around with glue and pins to try and fix my technic figure .

Here's a post with details. I'd try and get them but the article states: I'm going to have to visit both local locations I can claim from to simply get one for me and one for my brother There has been problems in the past of scalpers going in and getting lots and lots, then selling on eBay.

I have to take a check. I know we had some that expire this year but there are also new ones mixed in now that last until next year and we are likely to use as a family (Alton Towers would be stupid costly without them!) so should know soon. I have to find where they've been squirrelled away... -

And yet one entertains me while the other annoys me. I'll give you a hint: CN only show one toon I enjoy and that's Adventure Time. -*-*-*- So I will be having Netflix access soon (house-sitting ftw). Any Anime I have to watch? I am a little out of the loop these days because I stopped buying the UK anime magazine a few years ago and now really only follow up on series related to what I liked/watched before (FMA, GitS, Cowboy Bebop etc). I have a Once Upon a Time binge planned, but I am looking after the place for 17 nights so plenty of room for suggestions! -
Miss Kyle, if you can bear to buy the Daily Mail then you get the Joker this coming Sunday. Also: Do you happen to have any loose technic figure parts? I am in need of a black arm, so if you have one, don't think they'll go unwanted!

So, I gave this a frontpage post, it is just the thing Action and Adventure themes need.

Every super spy organisation needs an HQ and Eurobrick's member RoxYourBlox has supplied the Ultra Agents with an impressive structure. If you like great angles, a killer colour-scheme and impressive reach then check out the Spy Spire! Okay, no personal arguments please! If you want a real Chima hater go look-up the guy who brought the Thundercats reboot to TV... We are all allowed to express opinions here so long as they are civil and directed at the toy not each other. Cheers.

It is always good practice to say if another's MOC gave you ideas for your own also. If someone builds, say a truck and you like it, so you build a truck. If you build it a lot like the truck you saw, it would be sporting to say that you built it like the first MOC-ist for whatever reason. There are a lot of "coincidental copies" so if you build something and someone else says it looks like another's MOC then it isn't important. But credit where credit is due in instances where you did knowingly copy else it is plagiarism and bad taste in a friendly community. Much luck with MOCing, it is so rewarngding to build with kids. Not only do they dismiss any "rules" but they usually learn quickly. My little brother (I say little, he is 14 now...) would love to build along with me and playing with my friend's kids. Well, I sat and built things on my own and in a few minutes they had left the instruction booklets and were making their own things.

LEGO Dimensions – Counting the LEGO Multiverse

Well, from what I came across in the wilds of TV Tropes (so no citation but no one argued the point either) The Queen of Corona is the sister of the Queen of Arendelle so she's Elsa and Anna's aunt, making Rapuzel their cousin. The "two weeks" that the King and Queen would be away (but like.. sank instead..) was the same "two weeks" that the wedding celebrations mentioned in Tangled were. It is "soft" canon if not outright canon. (I am not a nerd. Nope, not I.) -

"'m not loitering. I'm guarding." Tesni gestured to where Ellaria was talking. "See? Ladyship's bodyguard me. Keeping a good eye for any monsters and that. Had to beat back a bunch of leeches on the way in, don't want my employer to get et by anything 'cos I wasn't looking right? Looks bad on the old writ of work for a start." She shrugged. "Not sure if things can get in here but gotta be safe than sorry." -

I am going to raid the stock we already have Holodoc! There are five of my siblings who eat a lot of Krave cereal which had the tokens on and we won't be getting to Alton Towers before they expire so I'll be snipping them all free. No shirts or hoodies for me please. -

I will look out for the tokens, they are one free adult with one adult entry so that halves entry cost right away. No super offers on LEGO I know of, sorry. As for rail tickets- National Rail website can be used to find what a fare for today will cost, then if you use trainline.com for the date we want to travel it will give you a price for the journey that might be cheaper. Will we be traveling on the underground? An Oyster card is a fuss free travelcard for London. I will be bringing mine, that's for sure! -

Point of order too: Word of Creators has it that Corona and Arendelle exist in the same "universe" linked in a few ways and the cameo. I would go into depth but this is a LEGO forum. -

Tesni stood back and observed the area, she wasn't good at the speechifying and coddling answers out of people. Hopefully there would be the sort of problem that was solved by a sword soon enough. -

Not looking for a shirt. I have too many as is! Driving in with no real plans in all honesty. I might leave early and spend time in London, I might get in for some time in Windsor or arrive for check-in time at 3pm and see what the hotel has on offer. Quarry already asked about a ride from the airport, so I could do that and take more if they arrive around the same time. I have a 5 seater four door car (2003 Astra if you want an idea on space available). I'm going to clear it of my stuff before I leave so there will be plenty of space (y'know, bar essentials for travel) It is just me in it, so room for more and my only rule is my car my music . I will have space for four if someone doesn't mind the middle seat and myself, to drive wherever we need to go and for beer runs at the local supermarket.
