  1. These look like OLD best-lock actually. Are they a little thicker than a regular LEGO plate too? That was sometimes a problem with the Best Lock plates. I am trying to recall a rough date, but all I can say is late 90s early 00s for those. After a while Best Lock must have changed supplier because in the last ten years they have had varied quality bricks that are the same dimensions as LEGO. Also: EB is not an image host, the space your profile has for a picture is for user image and that's it. Next time could you find an image hosting site to upload the photo and then link it here? Thanks
  2. "A beer is most welcome, my thanks. I was wondering if anyone here knew more about the wyrms. They are not a creature I have fought before but I heard chatter about them."
  3. Tesni went to look for beer. Beer often lead to gossipers and news.
  4. Okay, before things get out of hand: The very first post said not to discuss the show in depth. Yet the first page is at least 75% TV talk. TV discussion counts as any post that starts citing episode and plot detail over and above the LEGO, including ratings and broadcast performance and competition or cooperation between the planned Movie. Thank you.
  5. The increase in variety of face prints (male anyway) means it is something I can work with now. The original change wasn't good in my mind, but I have got used to it. Sometimes when I want a MOC "grounded" in a media property or actual event then the realism added by fleshtones is useful. Although the abstract of the yellow is best in my mind.
  6. Tesni found the inn and spied her friends. "Who do I owe some gold to hmm?"
  7. This is amazing. It is great what people can achieve with LEGO parts, things people would never believe you could make.
  8. There are reams of threads in Community discussing this. I am just so glad that in the years since I joined EB things have gone from instant booing to actual talk. ArmstrongYong, maybe if you used the search function you could have found another thread instead of creating a duplicate.
  9. It depends what kind. Are you making a fantasy landscape for Orcs, Trolls and the like? Then it is Historic themes. Is it a rugged alien planet landscape? SciFi is the place. Is it a nice park or outdoor location? Town might be a good fit. Is it an architecture set scaled landscape? Then it will go in Special themes.
  10. "I think I am loaded down enough for now. I'll be off to the inn. Mayhaps my friends will want to visit tomorrow and I will make another purchase." Tesni smiled and went on her way.
  11. Guys, there is a thread for the set. As relevant as it is here, I don't want the discussion split or replicated over two threads. Else it looks like a plan to double your post count.
  12. Sometime soon there is some sort of retail catalogue leak, or webstore posting that hints at new sets for next year and the winter. It's not supposed to happen and TLG don't like it, so there is always the chance that they will change how retailers get next years information and nothing will leak.
  13. This was my first set. Well, LEGO product anyway. Newborn baby packs at the hospital had them. Mum and then me didn't stop with the LEGO since
  14. That is sad. The jet was a lovely set and I wanted the parts. Ah well, maybe I will be lucky and find it in Denmark when I visit next year.
  15. Yep, this is on my list. Whether that is the "OH my gosh I want it but can never buy it" list or the "MUST BUY!!!!" List will be one to wait around for first. It is lovely, well designed and just popping with attractive but not out-of-place colour. Got to say something for all the nay-sayers: It is super simple to take away the Ninjago elements and figures (like the "techno ninjas") and replace them with more traditional ninja/Japanese/eastern minifigures and accessories.
  16. Well, this looks like the right place if you want to sort figures, so I changed the title for you. I make a lot of mix'n'match figures and I also have just finished my sorting of figure parts so here are my tips: Using bead/screw storage boxes like this: or and other varieties that you can get in the £/$ stores and elsewhere. I have sorted heads, legs, torsos, hair, headgear, body wear and accessories from each other. I have a lot of figure parts, so the torsos are divided down and down to make them easiest to find what I am looking for. "Town" torsos went from one big bunch to - Female, Formal, Emergency Services, Coveralls and Male/Unisex. The other themes are similar. I keep printed legs sorted separately from plain, and divided by main colour. Heads are sorted by "main" feature (Beards. Stubble. Glasses etc). What matters most is you choose categories that work for you, but keep the partitions easy to look through. It is a real pain to rummage and spill because you over-filled a box! Keeping figures assembled isn't for me. It means you have to part them out when making a custom figure and then you don't have somewhere to put that spare head/torso/legs you do not need from the figure once you're done. Hope this helps.
  17. Yes, careful flattening means you can then put the boxes in places where you'd never thought to store them, like behind a bookshelf or wardrobe. If dust and potential light damage give you concern, you can bag them up in black bin-liners (Labels are your friend to avoid trash risk!) and then slot them away. I am brutal, so I just recycle the card nearly instantly.
  18. "Well, for now I'm not carrying 'owt to put it on. Maybe I should purchase another weapon here..." Tesni looked at the wares the shop carried, the greatsword was tempting.
  19. A little paint removal and you have a nice tall horse
  20. "Ooh, an Emerald. I've wanted something to be wood elemental for a while. Can I get one of those lovely gems?"
  21. The period of time when a LEGO fan stops. So, the time between teens and returning to LEGO as an adult, if you stop at all.
  22. Tesni trailed behind. Brutal weapons and strong armour distracted her nearly as much as blonde hair... A sign saying Fodmin, the sound of hammer and Nur's voice told her she was at least somewhere useful. "Oh! No one told me this place was quite so excellent for shopping!"
  23. Woosh, a blast from the past! I never did find that troll figure... I am away from home at the moment, but I can get a pose of figure with the bow in a while, if you really want! It is a lovely set of parts but even harder to find these days. They've really dropped off. Though funnily enough I found a MY Pirate set I think I might review. Gosh, back in the day when I was Queen of the Clone Brands... EDIT: She spoke too soon. First store I looked at. They are worth it honestly.
  24. "That is strange, I thought with all the other races of this grand world there would not be internal conflict within a group. There's nothing like an other other to unite a people, as my priestess always used to say."
  25. Yes, this looks just like it could have been part of the nindroid wave! Great use of colour and a nice build
