  1. Why not place the 4735 on the model? I mean, the piece works, and it's not that big of an issue that is slightly misalingned? Or is there a reason why you don't do it?
  2. Out of curiosity, which 2009 sets?
  3. Now, that is a good spot. Give your brother a Mars bar or something ! Also, the 59900 cone should allow fitting every further in by another 2-3 mm comparted to the other two.
  4. Thanks for the review! Interesting read.
  5. You should rightfully be proud. That's one beeeep of a task you set out to do seven months ago. So, what's next? Any ideas?
  6. Well spotted. Regarding placement in middle of 4 studs, there are actually a few parts that has this problem: 3061, 3899, 6255, 30359, 41535, 48457, 33122, 4360. There may be more? These are just the ones that I've noted.
  7. Always a pleasure to read your error reports Regarding not placing the 58176 dome pieces, I'm not sure why you didn't. In my mind the slight misalignment isn't that big of a problem, or? You are right about the compression of the tires in the tower model. I agree it won't be easy to fix. I suppose one solution would be to temporaily disable/reduce collision volumes for this particular connection. I wonder if this "rubber compression" can be done in MLCad? The module supports 2637 seem to show yet again that TLG designers can break the rules as it suits them, since this is not a "perfect" triangle.
  8. Via fbtb.com we've just learned the somewhat amusing news that TLG removed the bar codes in Minifig Collector Series 3 and replaced them with a new, very secret dot system . Discuss it here.
  9. Update November 19th 350.000 views 4544 posts 694 Official sets in LDD Good work everyone! I also noticed today then when you google for LDD and LEGO you get 63.000 hits, and our LDD forum is on the 5th place. The four first hits are the official LDD sites at LEGO.com. Pretty neat, huh
  10. OK, since this is a request topic, I'd humbly like to request this little beauty: 8258
  11. LDD Graphics and general troubleshooting guide Part 1 - Turn advanced graphics ON If you don't see the cool, advanced graphics in LDD 4, try this STEP 1 - Turn on advanced graphics If you don't see the advanced graphics (such as brick outlines, see image below) in LDD 4, first make sure you've turned them on. (Edit > Preferences). Outlines on bricks should be checked, and Advanced shading lever should be max to the right. NOTE: If you've got an older computer, you may want to only use the advanded shading and leave the Outlines turned off since outlines seems to be more heavy on the computer. STEP 2 - Update drivers If you can't turn on Outlines and Advanced shading because those options are grayed out, your first step is to update the drivers: a) For Windows - Make sure that your DirectX drivers are up to date as this will also install the latest OpenGL drivers (which is what LDD uses). Download here b) Update the graphics drivers. This is very important, since many problems are solved with updated drivers. Download NVIDIA here and ATI here. So how do I know which graphics card/chip I have? In Windows, Start > Run. Type in "Dxdiag". Look at the Display tab. STEP 3 - None of the above works If it still doesn't work, you've either got a too old graphics card/chip or there is a bug in LDD for that particular chip. Then all you can do is to either update the graphics card or wait for the next release of LDD where hopefully any bug has been fixed. Part 2 - Turn advanced graphics OFF (because LDD is crashing or not starting) Q1: I just installed/updated LDD over a previous version, and now LDD will only start for a few seconds and then shut down or will not show up on screen. A: It may be because you have a line in your preferences.ini-file left from a previous LDD installation that says UseShadersInScene=yes UseShadersInPalette=yes and with the latest versin of LDD your graphics card cannot handle this. So you need to edit the preferences.ini-file and set those values to "no". For Windows 7 and Vista it can be found here C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer\preferences.ini For Windows XP here: C:\Documents And Settings\UserName\ApplicationData\Lego Company\Lego Digital Designer\preferences.ini NOTE: If you can't find this folder, the read here how to make it visible If the above doesn't solve the problem, try this: 1) Exit LDD if it is running and make sure that all instances of LDD are closed (Open Start Task Manager and look at the Processes folder. Close any processes called LDD.exe). 2) Now uninstall LDD, and then delete all LDD files in two places: a) The above folder (....UserName\ApplicationData\Lego Company\Lego Digital Designer\) b) "C:\Program Files\Lego Company\Lego Digital Designer" (or "C:\Program Files (x86) \Lego Company\Lego Digital Designer" for Windows 64 bit editions 4) Re-install LDD and start. 6) Still doesn't work? Exit LDD and again edit/add the preferences.ini with UseShadersInScene=no and UseShadersInPalette=yes 5) Still doesn't work? Exit LDD, edit the above mentioned preferences.ini and add CompatibilityModeLevel=100, then re-start LDD. Q2: I just installed LDD 4 and now LDD will crash whenever I click the brick palette. A:First to try is to go into Edit > Preferences and uncheck "High quality rendering of bricks in the brick palette". Then re-start LDD. If that doesn't work, follow the instructions above to edit the ini-file directly. If that doesn't work, try increasing the "Compability mode" slider.
  12. You have to "reinstall". Delete the old LDDManager.mdb, and copy in the new one. I'm aware this means you will loose any imported LDD files, but they are so easy to import again that I haven't bothered doing a more advanced update function then simply replacing the file.
  13. New version of the mapping information (excel-file) is now available to download from the first post.
  14. A new version of LDD Manager was released a few days ago - 0.95 Beta. The change from 0.94 is a small bug fix when generating a 1x2 Brick from BrickLink sets. As usual, read here and download: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41993
  15. Yes, and there also seems to be a small indent in the bow bricks to enable a brick to fit. Oh, and BTW. I reported all the bugs you found on that Atlantis set. The only thing I didn't get was the frog.
  16. It should defintely fit - otherwise there wouldn't be a stud there (at least that's my conclusion).
  17. Which bug was this now again? Can't remember.
  18. You are not normal. No one who uses LDD is normal
  19. You are right - collision volume brick bug! You are so right. My mistake, I tried it with 45410. Dooh. PS: thanks for clarying with the pics and LXF
  20. Can you try it again. There should be a sweet spot where it should connect, but you have to be very precise with the mouse.
  21. 42! That's the answer to the question, isn't it? Anyway, I assume we need to start looking into accomodations if we're all going to be in one place for evening fun (bumping Ras-the-man a bit)
  22. The clock decoration bug on 3005 bricks is now fixed. New version available for download, 0.95Beta
  23. I liked the failed shots at the end of the video when the wheel fell off. It'd be cool with a Technic car that can dismantle itself. Like - you are driving around and you can push a button on the remote and all the wheels would fall off. No, but seriously, something like that would be fun. Like a stunt car in Technic. Or maybe it has allready been done?
