  1. Ah, this could be a slight problem. As long as your are only using common and "normal" bricks it should work fine, but anything out of the ordinary and you tend to loose a lot of bricks in the conversion. At least that's my experience.
  2. Absolutely great work Paul. Looks really nice. Now you got the bella center hotel to do next I suppose
  3. Yes, I certainly think so. It's high on all our wish list. Otherwise, old parts are starting to slowly find their way into LDD.
  4. Incredibly imaginative idea. Really like it Look forward to those dice
  5. Very strange. It's almost that you start suspect hardware/memory issues. LDD does use a lot of memory. Maybe it fails as it's loading into memory. What if you try to install an older version of LDD? Can you try that?
  6. Question: would it be convinient to be able to pan by clicking both left and right mouse button simultenously? I have this high on my "5.0 wanted list" but I'm not sure how it would feel/work. And would it possibly clash with some other feature that would make better use of that button combo?
  7. Hi there. Welcome to the forum. What computer and operating system are you using? And just double checking: After uninstall you manually deleted all files in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company and C:\Program Files (x86)\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer. Right? And you then downloaded and installed the latest setupfiles from ldd.lego.com? Did you also check that you don't have any instance of LDD running in the background (using Task Manager). This shouldn't be possible, but just to be certain. When you edited the .ini-file, it was the one found here: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company, right? Also, did you try to edit these ini-settings: UseShadersInPalette=yes/no UseRoundEdges=yes/no
  8. Great work doc. Good to see you are at it again. That's the spirit Anyway, I'll try to help out with this one: 1) The 4 2x2 plates cannot be placed due to a brick bug in LDD. I've been told that this has been fixed in the next version of LDD (whenever that comes out). 2) Yes, the elongated roof parts won't attach. This is due to poor model design at TLG thus putting the bricks under stress. This was more common in older sets when the design rules weren't as strict. 3) 2493 is indeed missing from LDD 4) The goblet is in LDD. in bricklink there is stated an alternate number (6269) and that you can search for in LDD. Then I could only spot one color error: "2493 Slope 33 3 x 4" is probably supposed to be Light Gray, since it has never been produced in Dark Gray. (PS: You know you an use LDD Manager to import LXF-files yourself and quickly see the color errors?).
  9. I think you nailed it pretty good there Lalror! Regarding LDD and brick bugs, I can say that I report each and everyone one reported here in the forum, I pipe further to the LDD team (it's a little chore I've taken on ). Regarding feature requests, LDD is 100% driven by internal TLG business needs (like any sw development project), i.e. they develop what internal departments pay and ask for. Historically it has been much DbM and Lego Universe. This is both good and bad. It's good, because it lets us LDD users piggy-back on other uses for LDD, i.e. there is flow of money into the development of LDD which keeps things moving. It's bad, because LDD may not develop 100% the way we fans want or they may not prioritise features we think is important. The LDD development team do know about our requests and checks these topics from time to time. However, and for natural reasons, they can't out themeselves here and/or making any statements whatsoever about new features. (hey...I'm begining to sound like a corporate spokesperson....)
  10. From what I've understood, the organisation of bricks in LDD is not done by the LDD developers, but by something called DesignLab. It is an organisation within LEGO of experienced designers, managers and other wise persons that together decided how to manage the LEGO System (i.e. which bricks should be active, allowed connections, color palette, taxonomy etc). Apparently they are now experimenting with a new way of organizing the bricks, which is then automatically transfered down to LDD without the LDD designers having much to say about. Personally I think it's a pity that TLG makes these changes in a way that affects thousands of LDD users who get hit by something new without even a warning. I mean, finding bricks has got to be one of the core features of the whole software. But let's keep our fingers crossed that this will turn out to something good. Personally, I think it would be great if TLG could unveile the underlying classification schema/rules, so that it's easier to figure out what goes where. For the most part it's naturally understandable, but not always, and off course it's for those parts you look the most
  11. ...and opening. With this I'd also like to invite everyone to support this project over at LUGNET. And I'd also like to extend a public appology for my missunderstanding about this and closing the topic. The truth of the matter was that I had no idea who Dilvish was, but this has all been cleared up now
  12. Hi there Before you do a request like this it is concidered good practice to contact a moderator, just to make sure everything is OK. So, let's talk about it first - you are welcome to PM me. I'm closing this topic for now.
  13. Hi Daniele Can you please capitalize your sentences. It is one of the EB site guildelines as this is an AFOL forum. Thanks for you understanding
  14. Hello there deleus. I saw that you posted the same question in the topic DLuders directed you to. Since it's enough with the question in one place, I'm closing this topic.
  15. I think I remember trying this connection, and I couldn't get it to fit really well. So I'm wondering if that visor is supposed to go on the helmet. Can anyone else check?
  16. About LDD Manager, post your troubles here and I or someone else might be able to help you The 1x2 I thought was kind of funny. I almost thought it was some kind of "tag".
  17. I can always ask, but I'm not sure I'll get a good answer. The risk is that they simply say that the program wasn't designed for this size of MOCs (which we allready know).
  18. Really, really nice work. I especially like the moveable shelfs with the wheel at the end. Haven't seen that in LEGO before EDIT: Ooops. Missed the ventilated cabinet. Super
  19. Hi Dean. Welcome to the forum (again) Absolutely fabolous work. I coulnd't download the file from Megaupload to have closer look, but the BS gallery will probably soon be public.
  20. Hello Beastie EB Member Skrytsson has done a simply stunning job with his latest MOC and have deservingly been bloged both over at Brothers Brick and FBTB. But what caught my interested was the way he has used LEGO Digital Designer for prototyping during the design process. If you want to read more about this (or just look more at the MOC), head on over here.
  21. Great job. Greetings from an LDD friend
  22. Excellent LDD work. I commented more over in the LDD forum
  23. Lovely work qwarek7. And thanks for sharing. This could serve as inspiration for a lot of builders An LDD builders tag is heading your way. I see however, you have used a lot of bricks in colors that were never produced. Did you know you can use LDD Manager to spot those bricks, and also find which colors the brick has been produced in? It'd be cool to see a modded version that could be built with ABS Another question: what does the 1x2 tile at the end of the scene do?
  24. Lovely The only issue I find is that when I open the file, one of the nose wheels are removed. Putting it back again and re-saving makes it stay on though. Odd. And now I'm going to be picky If you (and everyone else) could name the LXF-file the same as the set-number and/or set-name, it would be super.
