  1. ...and here, only one week later, is the TLG product around a similar concept. That didn't take long LEGO press release: http://aboutus.lego.com/en-US/PressRoom/CorporateNews/article/354621.aspx found through Brickset
  2. I have to agree - you did a good job of "legalizing" the design (Nice model Ralph - I hadn't seen it before )
  3. Yeah, that's what I thought too, but then it would have been completely impossible. I'll guess we'll have to wait and see when the set comes out.
  4. And we both come from Hockey nations!

  5. In LDD it seem to be that annoying problem that you cant fine-tune the position of the 48729 - it only moves in the predefined increments. If you could make it move "half" way between the increments points, it may actually fit in LDD too. (maybe a challenge for someone who dares take it on )
  6. Thanks for the update. Seems the part was surrouned by some mystery. Designed in 2009, but appears first now in 2011. It looks good though - better then the old one
  7. Found on Pick-A-Brick. Seems we'll be seeing a new life jacket soon.
  8. Yeah, I loved this mini-set as well. Good work you got going on them. The only technique I spotted that can't be re-created in LDD is the fan over Cafe Corner.
  9. Regarding LDD MOCs, the rule is like this (as stated in the LDD Index topic): 1) MOCs without attached LXF-files go into the respective forum. 2) MOCs with attached LXF-file go either here or in the respective forum. The reason for requiring LXF-files in the LDD forum is that this forum is mainly for LDD users and to discuss LDD as a tool, techniques etc. The only reason a LDD MOC would be interesting to other tool users is if you can download the LXF and examin it for interesting techniques, errors, be inspired from and so forth. Only exception to 1) is when there is some extraordinary MOC or that it has been beautifuly rendered/presented. Then it could go here as a "milestone" and good example. About welcome topic, that is a really good idea. I'll look into that.
  10. I just noticed these LDD files on brickshelf - mower and a grit spreader http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=483532 Problem is I don't know if these are the same as posted by Alasdair Ryan, and who is the orginal designer.
  11. A quick comment about the requests of tutorials and guides of various kinds. This is forum, and it's we as members that makes it alive. Anyone who feels like creating a tutuorial of any kind is more then welcome. What I then can do is to create some space for it, maybe a pinned topic or so.
  12. Good comments flowing in. The reasons for not pinning some topics is that pinned topics generally tend to be less read. They become a more static part of the forum. Un-pinned topics move around and creates some action. It's been the same with generic topics. Eventually all question/post types would have gotten their own topic ("MOCs", "How do I....", "Where is that part"..) and then these topics would essentially become subforums.
  13. I upgrade from 2 Gb to 4Gb ram today. That made a whole lot of difference. With large models, LDD can eat as much as 1 Gb alone, so it needs room to breath!
  14. To all LDD forum readers! A bit of self scrutiny is never wrong they say. So we'd like to know how you feel about the LDD forum. Is there anything you think should be improved? Things that work particularly well (I doubt it )? Or is there anything in the work Calabar and I do that you think needs improving? Take the poll and post comments and requests. Or you can send a PM to me if you feel more comfortable with that.
  15. Yeah, I know it's a cheezy start but let's wait and see. And naturally the stickers shouldn't be necessary to make it usable. One obvious use case would be kids that have built their model and don't know how to proceed (maybe they've made an error along the way). Just bring up the web-camera and hookup to the TLG servers and presto - the error can be spotted in no time. But naturally TLG would need a reference data to compare the web-camed fodels with. Reference data that we LDD fans are creating as we speak in the "official sets" forum. It all fits together. We are creating history. "Yeah, I remember the LDD forum, back in 2011. That's where it all started you know. Those were the good days."
  16. Just noticed this (thanks to mechamike): http://legoplatformer.com/showcase/ I guess it won't be too far in the future until a small app create our LDD files for us
  17. Hi and welcome to the forum. We've had a whole bunch of good Russian stuff the last months. What are you guys doing over that makes you so good Anyway, the model is supberb. However, a little note is that you need to share your LXF to post in the LDD forum. If you only share the screenshots, you need to post in the respective theme forums here at Eurobricks. We have this rule to keep the LDD forum from being swamped by digital only MOCs. By sharing the LXF the model also becomes more interesting for fellow LDD builders to analys (and admire )
  18. Nah, it's not a major problem off course. Sorry if I came off a bit harsh
  19. I'm preparing a list to send to TLG of most wanted bricks. I've made a summary of this topic. The list contains a sweet mix of old and new parts and of system/technics/Bioncile/HF (and then I added a few of my own). Please give feedback on this list. The parts are listed in priority order, most important first. Have I missed any? Are they in the wrong order. Please note that Images are clickable 1. (85489a) 2. (85489b) 3. (2507) 4. (2493) 5. 20. @bbbqqq: I moved your post with wanted features to this topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58396
  21. Another thing I'm not so keen on is that you include your tag. I can understand why you do it, but at the same time it "messes up" the LXF with bricks that aren't supposed to be there. The actual brick count could for example be good when comparing the accuracy of the model, or comparing different versions of the model. If you want to add your name, you can instead add the "author" tag in the META section of the LXFML.
  22. You could always use the search function and try "4070" Anyway, the bug has been reported earlier. But it was well spotted of you. Not everyone sees it, or is aware it's not possible with physcial bricks.
