  1. OK, for the future, can you please avoid to post these sort of guesses that aren't based on any underlying discussion or analysis. It really just takes up bandwidth and doesn't add to the discussion.
  2. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  3. Sorry for interupting, but what do you base this on? Is it something you just think, or do you have anything to back it up with?
  4. Hi Messiah1 Well, the simplest way to find a brick in LDD is actually to use LDD Manager. There is a feature there that allows you to search for any brick (by BrickLink number, BrickLink name or LDD Name). After you have found if the brick exists, it will also tell you which category in LDD the brick is in.
  5. The simplest way: In LDD - Generate a HTML building guide, on the first page it will tell you the brick count. Hey Lego911 - great to see you here. Look forward to your contributions in the future
  6. Wow, that new corner panel is a great! Let's hope that this one shows up in a number of regular sets in the future!!!
  7. What's with that one little black line on the the chest sticking up from the shirt (about 1 mm high on the flesh area). It looks like cleavage...is Han turning to the other side
  8. Hi there. If I haven't said it before. Welcome to Eurobricks! To upload LXF-files (which is a must in this topic), read here. After you have fixed to you can link to LXF-files, please update your original post with a link (do not make a new post).
  9. To both of you: what is the main difference in the building experience if you compare LDD with Lego Universe. I'm now talking about the free-build that was shown in one of the videos (a micro-scale castle that was built). Are there things you can do in LDD that you cannot do in Universe. And the other way around, are there any cool features in Universe that could actually be useful in LDD?
  10. I've done this before and it's quite easy to do in Adobe. Just use the JPG's as source. (File > Create PDF > From File > select JPG). Each JPG will be one page. A tip is also to use the OCR functionality (if there is any printed text in instructions), then you can search for text also.
  11. Just noticed there was some new movies out on the Lego Universe site. Here's hort intro video that show the play concept: http://universe.lego.com/en-gb/media/default.aspx?category=195292&section=148275&contentid=200328 There is also a video that shows more of the building too. It's obvious that the game has used the LDD "connect to studs" concept platform. But have the LU game developers applied some new and innovative approaches to digital brick building? One thing that seems cool is the behavior editor. Could a similar thing be useful in LDD? I'm thinking animation here Then there is the ongoing question if LDD models will import into the game (or vice versa). And what about all those brick errors we've found here at the EB LDD forum - will they appear in the game too? Comments anyone?
  12. It certainly looks like a brick error in LDD. I'll report it to TLG.
  13. Yes. Exchanging dark grey to dark bluish grey and light grey to light bluish grey is OK to do. Regarding time, the US pacific is 9 hours "after" CET (central european time). So when it's 21.00 in europe, it is 12 noon in US pacific.
  14. I'm addicted to the Tiny Turbos - gotta have them all The creator sets are becoming better and better for each year.
  15. The reason is that there has previosly been problems with new users entering a contest, and then have friends create an account just to vote. And if there are few votes in a class, then this could be the difference between winning or not. To eliminate this unfortunate possibility, most contests at Eurobricks will only allow those who were members before the contest started to vote. Sorry, but I hope it doesn't discourage too much Yes you can!
  16. Aha But with some imagination it could be a pouting stomach....maybe she's just fat . That'd be kind of cool actually - Minifigs which look like people that exist in our society. We allready have super soldiers from brickforge, our ideal people from TLG. But what about fat people, mental cases, pregnant women, bagladies....that sort of thing.
  17. Just for fun it would be interesting to know what OS we are all using. Vote for PC, Mac or Other. If other, post here what OS it is.
  18. I continue with ADHO15's ideas: Does the name have an ampersand (&) in it. There is a known bug that files with that character will cause the error you get. If this is not the problem, then can you 1) Post the exact file name of the LDD creation here. 2) Upload the LXF-file to some file sharing site (or if you PM me you can mail it)
  19. It's not possible in this version of LDD. Hopefully it will be in the next version in September. Let's keep our fingers crossed. Sorry, it's not allowed. Your model is supposed to be like a real Lego model, just that it's made in LDD, so loose tiles that don't hold on to something is not OK.
  20. Absolutely great review. Detailed and initated. However, the set itself is a bit of a letdown. Too plain. Regarding the mom, whats with the pouting stomach? Is she pregnant? A first for Lego?
  21. Amazing work there messiah1! And like already said by ADHO15, very welcome to the LDD corner of Eurobricks. You are among peers here I'll look into your model when I get back from vacation next week. In the meantime hopefully someone else of the LDD super users here at EB can have a look at the problems you've experienced. And about LDD 4 features we're all looking forward to what's coming. Cheers
  22. The only suggestion I can come with is to edit the LXF-file directly to create exactly the angles needed. Right now I'm on vacation (but couldn't help myself logging in to EB ), so I don't have access to LDD and can try it out. In the meantime perhaps some of the other LDD gurus here at EB can come up with a solution?
  23. Hm...tricky question. LDD in itself does not allow illegal connections, and in my mind that's actually one of the strengths of the program - you can only design models under the same rules as the TLG designers can. However, there are some shortcomings in LDD, such as putting a car on a tiled driveway (since there are no connection for that). But there are ways to get around this (like you're suggesting), and I say it's OK to do that sort of thing. At the same time it's not allowed to have things floating in the air (like a bird flying), since this cannot be done with physical bricks. Hope that was understandable
  24. OK, sounds like a good idea. Anyone else got some ideas for GUI? (GUI = Graphical User Interface, i.e. layout of buttons etc in the software)
  25. OK, no prob. And you're right - it probably doesn't work with the 4x4 round brick/plate.
