Regarding pins and putting a 3.2 bar through, this is what I have found out (and these rules will apply in LDD in the future): Allowed/Legal to go through all the way 2780 (4459 at BrickLink) (black) 4274 (blue or light bley) 32002 (dark bley) Allowed to go though half through (i.e. only allowed to go 1 module in) 32556 (tan or light bley) (aka x202 in BrickLink) 3673 (light bley) Not allowed in at all (due to a stop at the end) 6558 (normally blue or black) 32054 (can be multiple colors) NOTE 1 Most parts with a technic pin will not allow a bar to be inserted, however a few will strangely enough. The only I've found are these: 30526 30592 If you can find any others that will effortlessly allow a bar, post it here in the forum! NOTE2 Transparent bars are normally not allowed even half-way in since they are made of polycarbonate, which has much higher friction against ABS. This means they are harder for kids to take aparts > illegal. This will not matter to us LDD users however, since LDD does not distinguish between materials (read: colors).

The only colors that are wrong are the ones that are Dark Red. They should all be Reddish Brown instead.

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
WTH? A bit strong words, but I guess you just wrote it in excitement? Anyway, no need to re-download. I'm not doing any changes in LDD Manager until 4.0 is released. -

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Many good and valid points. I try to answer them below: Yupp, I'm aware of all this. I'll keep it in mind Good you got it to work. The vbs script is unharmful. It just sets macro security to low for that instance of Access that runs the LDD Manager. It's just to avoid that annyoing "Are you sure you want to run...." message. You can run the mdb-file directy instead if you want. I'm not sure I follow. LDD Manager has support for all parts in LDD and converts them to the corresponding BrickLink part. So the BOM you get in LDD Manager should be an exact copy of the LDD Bom, but with BL numbers instead of LEGO numbers. You can then upload this to BrickLink. If you want to order other parts that are not in LDD, then you have to manually add them to your BrickLink wanted list. Or have I missunderstood you? -

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Ghyde, You can post your problem in this thread so that everyone can benefit. No problem. Regarding the question you sent, I don't know why it won't install on your PC. I haven't heard any major complaints from other users. You have to be very specfic about exactly what steps you have taken, any error messages you get and what you computer configuration is. Then you also had another question, which I think is valid. Your question was Well, you're right, the best thing would be to convert LDD Manager to proper development environment that could produce an exe-file. However, the advantage of Access is that it's super fast for making database driven programs. And because LDD Manager is a fan created software, that all I had time to do (plus I'm not too good with other development environments). So for the time being, I'm sorry but the Access version is all I can do. But your question was a good and fair one. -

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi Good suggestions! 1) This has been up before, but it's a good one nevertheless! 2) You can use LDD Managerto do that (don't think LEGO will ever make a connection to BrickLink ) 3) Much wanted by a lot of people -
Well, you're right that LDD can understand simple hinge type connections, for example to move multi-link Technic systems. But for complicated mechanical animations, it doesn't work. The only solutoin is to change to a physics engine (which likely has gravity out of the box). The engine in LDD today is from Havok, which is very much game oriented. If there will be a more physics oriented engine in the future I don't know.

Hi there Lot's of excellent ideas. I'll answer two of them Yupp, they know well about it. Most likely no mechanically engaging/moving technic gears in 4.0. But hopefully a few more gears, and fixes on the ones that are. Yes, but there may be rules that it only attaches to a 1x2 brick, or a 2x2 inverted slope. When I report them to TLG I include a copy of the instruction page, and then they will have to decide if it's a legal method for all bricks, or just for the one in the particular example. But, you are right Prateek. I'll widen the scope when I report this, and we'll see what happens.

Well, there is a way to "remove" the web panel. A small piece of code could be written that (example Windows): 1) Starts LDD 2) Sends "Ctrl"-key to close start up window 3) Sends the keys "Ctrl-3" to hide web-pane (it incorrectly says Ctrl-4 in the Help) That's it. (Ctrl-1 removes the camera control icons too) So, I guess this turned out to a challenge: if there is anyone that can program this piece of software, it'd be great. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

Interesting to see for sure! But I must say I'm not that impressed - I wish they were a bit more novell. The only one that a bit eye catching is the gorilla. And the elf's ears, but those must be part of the wig, right. I can't be a remolded minifig head?
