First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, there really isn't that kind of connection between Lego Universe (the game) and the Universe Mode (LDD). Universe Mode in LDD was added to allow game developers to quickly build models using the LDD software and using any color. And all along it has been the Game developers who have decided which parts that would go into LDD LU mode. That's why you will sometimes find odd/old bricks there that you wonder "why on earth did they put THIS brick in but not THAT". Well, simply because the brick was needed somewhere in the game. So does that mean that models designed in LDD will import into the game (and vice versa). No, from what I've heard there is no such connection and that means that, unless you're a game developer, there is no relationship between the game and LDD, even though they both have "Universe" in them -
First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The funny thing was that they did say September in their previous press-release a few months ago. Let's hope they haven't bumped into delays. And to clarify, it's true that LU mode will not be enabled out of the box, but it will be available to us AFOLs just like before. -
Hi Legolijntje Welcome to the LDD Forum here at Eurobricks. Great first attempt with the crocodile. I have that set myself and think it's just a little gem. Aanchir gave you some good advice on chosing the correct colors, but otherwise your first model here in the topic is looking good

Here is Firas original: http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=113937&id=/user_images/12960/12404273413 EDIT: Seems like skyliner has removed his pics in this topic, but DLuders has a post about them here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45885 And the E-bay ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lego-Model-Team-Technic-Racer-Creator-Custom-Ford-GT40-/190434734641?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item2c56cb7231

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but just look at the horses expression Great MOC by powerwig, aka Chris McVeigh. More stuff here

I've asked one of the moderators to have a look at this. Both at the conduct of skyliner and of the problems with posting. Please stay tuned.

All I'm saying is: 1) You are a new member here at EB that in your first post... 2) writes that you are putting out a model on E-bay that... 3) is all in all a copy of a respected community members work... 4) to which you don't have the courtesy to send a mail to inform about your copy

Excellent review Svelte. This is great set in my mind - and completely loaded with tan stuff. I agree with the previous post that the color scheme could have been doned differently from TLG. I did a mod some time ago to see what it would have looked like in a more realistic rendering: PS: The LDD file, along with the other architecture sets, can be downloaded here

I really like how you've put some effort into re-creating the painting. Yummy - looking forward to more from you.
-
Hm, just because you are forced to slightly mod the model because you can't reverse engineer it 100% correctly does not justify that you call it "an inspiration". For me it looks more like a copy since your car looks basically all the same as Firas. Besides I'm not sure I like the fact that you are using Eurobricks to advertise that you are putting it on E-bay.

8051 Motorbike in LDD
Superkalle replied to LegoBuilder's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Sorry, I don't have a work-around. But I have been told there may be motorcycle rim and tyre in LDD 4.0 - let's hope for it. -
hi everyone. coming back to the hobby.
Superkalle replied to clear's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Hi clear I'm not sure you are accustomed to forum behaviour, but before asking these sort of questions, you should start by looking around the LDD forum, particularly the Index topic. Also, download LDD and try it out and you will find out if it's a good program. Also, some of your questions are very basic. May I suggest for example you do a Google search for "lego instructions" and start from there. Also, based on how you fail to capitalize the first word in a sentence, I'm suspecting you are not so old. Please remember that Eurobricks is a sight for AFOLs (Adult Fans of Lego). -
Very interesting review Holodoc. This is the kind of posts I really appreciate. Something new and unexpected. Good job

Anyone bought from theplasticbrick.com?
Superkalle replied to tofuwarrior's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not sure I get this. There is a store on BrickLink called The Plastic Brick that is run by....you. What gives? -
The walls and chimney are my favourites. You've really succeded in gettin a perfect texture and color variation. Just plain awesome. (And I agree on the tree trunk. Excellent idea to use minifig heads - just perfect diameter to go with the rest of the scale)
-
Just a friendly remark: Since it's a copy of Firas model, I would recomend that you send him a mail to inform him about your copy. If he finds out some other way that you have copied his design and sold it on E-bay, there may be problems.

It's the first LEGO ad targeted at AFOLs that I've ever seen. But I wonder if this really is something endorsed by LEGO. The "LegoForMen" title is a bit silly. But if it is for real, is this the first AFOL targeted ad, or has there been others before?

Who's administrating 'master.txt'

One way to get hold of those is to use LDD. In the LXF-file you can find the Lego ID (called DesignID) for a part. I don't think the people at Ldraw/Peeron/BrickLink have discovered this direct access into the official part coding at TLG. It'a golden resource if you only take the time to look at it. So what does for example BrickLink do when they don't have the official TLG DesignID? Well, they invent a number of their own, most often as either as a b-number number or a x-number. The b-numbers are supposed to correspond to the Peeron numbers, and the x-numbers are unique to BrickLink. Typical x-numbers are minifig headgear. However, after a while BrickLink will get the official TLG DesignID from some member who has found it out, and then it will replace the x-numbers. There is a log at BrickLink where you can see these changes. In LDD Manager I have made lookup table between all the BrickLink ItemsID's and TLG's DesignID's for about 2000 bricks. It took a loooong time, but it's a very handy resource and is what allows you to upload brick lists from LDD Manager to BrickLink. But are you really sure about making a site like Peeron? It'a a huge, huge job. -
Arvo's VolksWagen beetle in LDD
Superkalle replied to shimon's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You have to zip the file first. Or you have used up all your allowed storage on Eurobricks. I recommend you create a Brickshelf account and upload there -
Euhmmm. I think I need to check this out since it works for you. Maybe I selected the wrong axis. And just to make sure, we are talking about the front wheel, right? EDIT: And confirmed. Prateek vs. Superkalle: 1-0

As general information, the front landing gear will not come down when using rotation tool. This is because the front wheel is a rotating element, and thus the rotation function cannot handle that. In other words, there is nothing wrong with the model. To lower the front wheel, temporary remove the wheel, lower gear, and put it back on.
