  1. Good list there Davee I can add one: - Magazine promotions, ex Daily Mirror in the UK (collect vouchers and exchange for polybags)
  2. Nice to see! Seems to be croped image from something bigger. Is this a confidential pic (has confidential stamped across)?
  3. I'm a completely hooked Tiny Turbos fan, so these look like a must have. But I would have loved to see some radically new designs coming out. Like the 8656. I'm not saying it's beautiful - just that it's....well, different.
  4. Could you post some pics that illustrate this, please.
  5. In case you haven't noticed yet, lego.com was recently updated with a new look. Discuss it here
  6. lego.com has got a new layout. What do you think? Found any new features? Spoofs or glitches? Post 'em here!
  7. Have you seen the new www.lego.com layout? In one of the intro-animations it gives you a what seems to be yet another look at the new model view in 4.0 with brick outlines and improved shading. No news of 4.0 release date though.
  8. I can only say one thing - thank you. I've been using the grid method for years and have always wanted a supporting tool. And now here it is. Life is good
  9. Funny that 7130 Snowspeeder was posted by two persons in the same day. Gave me an excellent opportunity to try something I've been thinking about for some time...a side by side review So let's see what we got: ADHO15 added a rear hook which shouldn't be there (I think). And Deadalus has used the proper Old Grey colors, where ADHO15 used the bley. Deadalus: 1 point ADHO15: 0 ADHO15 used some torso graphics on his minifigs, which Deadalus did not. But on the other hand Deadalus used 2x2 sloped bricks with decorations that ADHO15 didn't. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I give both contestants 1 point, so Deadalus: 1 point ADHO15: 1 point ADHO15 incorrectly used two of the grey 1x2 Tile modified with grill, but there should only be only be one (on the right wing). On the other hand ADHO15 had a slightly nicer presentation, with the radar dish tilted upwards. Deadalus: 1 point ADHO15: 2 point (rounded up ) Deadalus used a couple of wrong colors, for example a dark trans blue 4L bar ADHO15 also used some wrong colors, for example a Pearl Light Gray light saber hilt. What guys - don't you run LDD Manager to check your colors Deadalus: -3 points ADHO15: -3 points And the winner is.... Deadalus: 0 points ADHO15: 0 points A tie at zero points, who would have thought PS: ADHO15, the hook you put in the rear is pushed to far in as it will touch on the studs of the jumper plate. A tiny detail, but I might just as well mention it. EDIT: Actually the brick it is attached to (4595) is incorrectly modelled in LDD, since it should have a wall blocking the hole a bit in, so the fault lies in LDD in any case.
  10. Absolutey amazing work. It's great to see what you've been working on all these months. How many bricks are there in the complete model?
  11. Just guessin', just guessin'
  12. In either case, I think it's important that your keep a record of which parts in LDD weren't available when you made the model. With LDD 4 out soon, there will be a lot of new parts added, and I think it would be great if we all could go back and update our old models. So no matter what method you use - replacement parts, omit parts, focus on function or whatever - do keep a record of the parts!
  13. This have been reported before, but thanks for pointing out! Haven't seen this before, bug I guess your right about possible illegal build by TLG Has been reported, and from what I understand fixed in LDD4. Very good find. It's not often these days we get this kind of serious bug. Concider it reported. I agree it's strange only the jumper plates is removed. But depending in which order you place the parts, if you re-place them many time etc you can get these issue. After playing around some, I managed to get it so other parts also were removed, so it could be a case of the slack that is in LDD doesn't go in your favour on the jumper plate. In any case it's an illegal build that TLG used themeselves (the more I learn about this, the more I see that they use illegal builds when it suits them ) They are removed because the bricks violate the collision boxes defined for each brick, and it's is a basic rule in LDD that bricks should not overlap - hence they are removed. The program wouldn't crash per se - if they wanted the LDD programmers could temporily overridea collision warnings (and have bricks flow into each other). But to keep models clean and structurally sounds, any violating bricks are removed. When a brick is removed, LDD creates a file here C:\Users\[user Name]\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company called UnplaceableBricksDump.lxfml You can open and have a look at it. If that doesn't help, you can import both the "old" and the "cleaned" file to LDD Manager and analyze for the difference (i.e. the removed bricks)
  14. No problem then. Thanks for letting me know! And welcome to the LDD forum here on Eurobricks. Hope to see you around.
  15. Please read the entire post with instructions carefully. It tells you why, and a lot of other important stuff.
  16. Well, it can actually go here too. It's a boardline case. Normally, LDD technical questions, official LEGO sets made in LDD and other LDD related stuff go in the LDD forum. Finished MOCs and requests for design techniques around a certain theme go into the respective theme. I think this case can go either way.
  17. Excellent work Daedalus304, you've got the steam going now And grouping parts is a very nice touch Regarding the various brick bugs on the 10175 - sound like may have found some good ones. Could you please explain them with some illustrations, like maybe some close up screenshots or so. Thanks!
  18. There are two sides to a TCG - collecting the cards and playing the game. Are you into both? The Pokemon game is wonderfully designed and very intresting once you get into it.
  19. Interestingly, Dire Wolf Digital as a company was established just a few months ago, but on the other hand it seems the people in the company have been involved with other TCG's. I'm myself a certified Pokemon TCG TO (Tournament Organizer). Got into the game a few years ago as my kids played it. It's going to be intresting to see the "game engine" they will use in the LEGO TGC and how they will position it.
  20. Well, they know about the forum, so that's not the problem. I guess they may be really busy. Or TLG has some policy about employees participating in forum discussion in their professional capacity (as private persons is naturally another matter - we have quite a few TLG employees here at EB). It could also be that they know about this issue allready.
  21. I'll send a mail to the LDD team, and we'll see if they decide to fix it (or if the have the time before 4.0 is released).
  22. @ghyde I don't think you'll ever convince Sergio to change the controls. People have tried before, but failed. He's just liks it the way it is But I have to agree with you, the interface in SR 3D builder is a bit difficult get used to. It's a pity, because it's a great program, and LDD could use some competition. Seriously!
  23. Good work with that shuttle! And welcome to the LDD forum. But to have a close look at your work, we need that LXF-file You need to setup an account at for example BrickShelf.com (free), and post the LXF-files there. Then you can link to them. The file system at Eurobricks only allows very small files for temporary use.
  24. @shiroitenshi: Last time Bojan show us about the internal of the DB.lif, there was some discussion about if this is legal or not (reverese engineering), partly since we didn't want to get into trouble with TLG. Let me try to check this out with TLG. In the meantime, can you please remove the links to the DB-file. I'll try to get back with info as soon as possible, ok?
  25. Great stuff! I'm guessing the additional 200+ parts will be in LDD4, so those we'll get our wet little nerdy LDD hands on soon anyway But the custom decorations is very interesting Shiroitenshi, can you explain some more? From Bojans earlier work and posts here at EB, we know that the DB.LIF file contains all the part+geometry+connectivity information, as well as a folder with Decorations. The problem has been to re-compile the LIF-file with any custom decorations in and get LDD to accept it. At least that's what I have understood.
