Ch II: Team Simon: Cat B: Capturing the Drow - Team Simon

The river is beautiful! I love the bridge as well, and I agree that the palisade is excellent. I also like the cage the Drow is in. This is just a great build overall! -

I like the base you used, and I'm a big fan of that tree technique. Nice entry!- 19 replies

I love the tree. The cliff is also well done, and I like the whole feel of the build. Great job! -

I agree that the hill on the drow side really adds to the character of this build, as well as the "weeping willow". I really like what you've done with it, and that you have done a little rounding at the top. I think if you doubled the size of this tree, you could get more rounding along the top and corners, and it would really look superb. I like the variety of trees and the river running down the middle. There is also good work on the path that the Avalonians are traveling on. Great job! -
Very nice build! I like how much you've packed into it with the wall, the chapel, the courtyard, and the walkway. I like the arches windows beneath the walkway, the ivy and growth along the courtyard walls, the pool in the courtyard, the interior of the wall (a very nice touch) as well as the cheese slopes and additional details on the chapel. The story is also a great addition. I always like the continuous story lines, as DeGothia has done so well. I too would like to see a little more with the ground, but that's a matter of preference. Excellent entry!

Songwm - Very nice integration of dinosaurs and seige engines! Also, nice large force. Cornerfrog - Very nice layout and variety on your troops - I love it when people give some character to their factions. I must say, the forest "woman" looks like she may have some identity issues. Macsen Wledig - This is a great Roman army, and you've done a wonderful job of differentiating your troops, and matching them to the era. Excellent work!

You can create a new character, but you need to keep the same guild. -
You should definitely try to make it next year. We're starting to pull in some other GoHers as well. It was great to meet MKJosha and Gideon in person. MPOH was there as well and had a superb Princess Bride scene, but regrettably, he was never at his table when I stopped by.

Simon's side is full for the conversation thread. If you want to join DeGothia's side, there is still a little room in the thread. You can still join Simon, you just won't be able to participate in the thread. McCoyed - are you OK with DG? -Carson: "Carson Haupt" was invited to the thread instead of "-Carson Haupt-". That's what you get for having two names on EB.

This is fantastic! I love that it is built without any hull pieces. I really like all the details, but my favorites would have to be the ladders up to the masts, the shields and oars, and the custom sail is incredible. My only critique would be the studs showing on the sides in the front, but I'm guessing you did this on purpose. Definitely one of my favorites, if not my favorite build of this competition!

This is an excellent little ship. Very nice compact design sans any hull pieces, and the water is well done!
-
Great job on this ship! I really like the unique style, like the inward sloped walls along the top of the main section and the nice aft cabin with the balcony around it. Excellent work!
-
This ship is gorgeous! I love the scaliness of the sides and the sleek curved prow. The planks are my favorite part though. Beautiful!

This is a beautiful ship, and a great support for Avalonia's fleet. I very much like the size and the unique style.
-
A teaser of my Avalonian ships that will be on presentation at Brickworld. As I am not competing in GNAR, I am unconcerned with the deadline, but I have built them for GNAR all the same.

This is just fine. He would normally interact with anyone that approached him. You can also interact with servers or bartenders or locals, just don't give them names or unique traits. The goal is to get members interaction with each other. -

It's more of a hangout for those people that like to interact in character. Role-play-ish. -
