  1. Normally, I'm pretty lenient on scale and interpretation, but not on this Task. No microbuilds will be allowed. This build will reflect the power and influence of your sigfig. If you don't have a powerful character (Owlan comes to mind, because I don't believe he has any significant holdings) I could maybe see just a fortified home or farm, but as most of you have lords ruling their own realms, this build needs to have real substance to reflect this. If you build a little 10x10 tower that is 20 studs tall, then your sigfig will have very limited standing with the other more powerful lords. (Although if you really go over the top on size, you may seem ostentatious and wasteful). This is the first time a building for a task will directly correlate to your stature as a Lord or Lady. A bigger build means you are a more powerful Lord. A build on this scale would represent a petty Lord who may be more of a Scholar or Recluse than a commander. A build on this scale with a courtyard or walls surrounding it would be an acceptable build for a smaller Lordling. A build on this or this scale would represent a strong lord A build on this scale would represent one of the major powers of Avalonia, such as ZCereberus was. Nope. This is only open to Avalonians - not that I would stop other guilds from building their own strongholds.
  2. Welcome LordofDan, Sparrow the Conqueror and Slobey! You have joined the finest of guilds. Excellent work on all the entries for Challenge II! We had some great builds come out of Avalonia, and most of our active members entered at least one build. We are in the voting process for Challenge II, so the results will be posted in a short while. I have updated the map to account for the addition of our newest members and I am happy to present Task 5! FIFTH TASK Avalonians! All Lords and Ladies need a stronghold or fortress from which to rule their realm. Do you have a castle, a keep, a fortified farmstead? Where is your base of operations? For the fifth task, you should provide a picture of your stronghold. This should be your main fortress, not a small outkeep or tower. Remember that you should be displaying flags in the guild colors (dark green and sand green) or incorporating these colors into your uniform or standards. Entries for this task should be posted in their own topic and a link should be posted in this thread. Entries for this task should be quite substantial in size. I would not expect anyone to be submitting a 16x16, or even a 32x32 build unless it was very tall. This should be your sigfigs primary residence and it should provide protection while displaying the power and wealth of your sigfig.
  3. New members are always welcome, in Nocturnus, you may be welcome for dinner.
  4. That's right -I was thinking they were from one of the Jedi.
  5. Very nice build! I like the use of the Star Wars torsos for the Rangers, and the layout, tree and structure are all very well done.
  6. Very nice work! I especially like the portrayal of orc famers. Well done!
  7. Excellent build! The causeway is great, and the landscaping/rock work are excellent. I love your diminishing tower technique as well. Beautiful build!
  8. Great idea, and you've portrayed it beautifully. I love this mount!
  9. Nice build! I like the windows in the tower and the interior and modularity. I would like to see a ridge, or some distinction between the green and brown walls and the stone beneath, but I like the details on the houses. Good to see another addition to Drakeshome!
  10. Excellent work! The house looks very Nocturnish, and I love the incorporation of the purple. The red tree is excellent, as is the dark green one, although I'm unsure of the style change in the center, but judging by the trees in your Flickr, we may be seeing some unique styles coming soon. Good job on the rockwork, and the build overall. Welcome to GoH!
  11. Nice MOC! It's good to see a slice of the Griffon coming to life. I don't know about Master Gabbold though...
  12. This is excellent! I love the look of the dragon, the landscaping, and the use of the Jedi hairpiece. Beautiful!
  13. Excellent build! I like the roof technique, and the way you used the white and the light gray in the building. I also like the use of the barrels for the dock.
  14. I love this tree! The foliage on the 2nd picture looks great - if only there were some way to get that view from all angles. I love the way you've incorporated the Rancor and Hungarian parts and the use of the palm trunks to circle the main trunk. Beautiful!
  15. Fantastic work Gabe! The building reminds me of a Blood Elf shrine from WoW. You've done an excellent job with the round floors, walls, etc. The roof is superb, as are the trees coming up over the back. I love all the details you've added in, like the tasks for each character, the lower doorway, the staircase adornments, the plant press, the drying racks... I always like the use of the white tail pieces along the bottom of the building. Excellent story and build!
  16. Excellent tower! I love all of the scaffolding for construction and the guy falling. Good story too.
  17. Excellent brick built boat! I love the skeletons rising out of the water. The water work is well done, and I really like the log on the shoreline - a small detail that I think adds a lot. Great entry!
  18. Great little build! The story is excellent, and I love all the accoutrements on the cart. The rockwork on the slope and tower are well done too. You Kaliphlin think your ostriches are the best thing since the bow and arrow.
  19. This is a gorgeous build, and you have a beautiful Elven style here. The vines/roots? work perfectly, and you've really integrated an organic and symmetric feel to the buildings. The brick built tree in indeed excellent, as are the waterfalls. This really is superb, but all of your builds are. Fantastic work!
  20. Superb build! Everything in this build is well done. I like the house, the tower, the ships... I love the broken arch, it is definitely the highlight of the build. I also really like the layering of the rockwork, the vines and ivy, and the water. Excellent entry!
  21. It is so unusual to see you build in standard castle format - great job! I love the piper, and your build amuses me, as all of them do. Great build!
  22. Nice build! I like the Drow, but the moat is fantastic!
  23. Beautiful as usual. The lighting on this if fantastic, and I love the cheese slope trees. It is a shame you didn't have time for the other 2 builds. Excellent build!
  24. Excellent work! I really love the instant fell of the build that you get when you first see it - a mass exodus. I can definitely see the Legonardo influence, but my favorite parts are the story, and the burning ruins. Great build!
  25. Excellent work as always! I love how the two buildings have distinctly different designs, but they still look like they are contemporaries. As usual, your details are excellent, and you've done a great job of choosing/placing your figures. Great build!
