  1. THE THIRD ROUND IS NOW OPENED UNTIL THE 16th OF MARCH. THERE IS NO THEME IN THIS ROUND. For those who didn't make it to this round: feel free to make as many freebuilds as you want. Other prizes can still be won!
  2. There's been a small issue. One vote was made by a member who joined EB after the beginning of the contest. This could be unfair since he has made only one post since then. Perhaps I should have included this in the rules. If I don't count this vote, then Sebeus I would have made it to the third round. Therefore, I have decided that both sides can have a sixth participant. This means that Sebeus I and dr_spock can also join the final round. Congratulations!
  3. It's great to see that so many of you have cast their votes! And now it's time to present you the participants that made it to the THIRD AND FINAL ROUND which will start on February, 23rd, and which will be closed on the 16th of March. This round will not have any theme, so you're completely free to make whatever story you like. Bluecoats: Brig. Brick Esurient Frank Brick Wright Grimmbeard The Inventor Sebeus I Redcoats: Blackar MstrOfPppts Purpearljellyblob Skalldyr ZCerberus dr_spock Congratulations to you all, and good luck in the final round! May the best soldier win!
  4. Now I see this image again, there's something which you might want to improve. I like it that you've added studding sails, and they look great, but perhaps they could be attached slightly different. If you look at this image, and this one, you'll see that all the studding sails are attached to a yard which is a bit lower than the big yard to which it is attached. Also, the main and topsail studding sails are attached to two smaller yards if you look real closely but I'd understand if you don't do that. Anyway, it's just a very small detail and of course you're free to do whatever you want, but concerning your user name you might like to know this for future builds. Good luck!
  5. What an amazing piece of work! I think you already were the best ship builder on this scale, yet you keep improving yourself I have nothing to complain about this ship. I'm in awe. It's a very clever technique you've used to make the sides removable. The way I did it on the Vesta works too, but I think this is more smoothly. Which do you consider the best? Removing the sides or removing the decks? The pumps are also superb. But why does the door to the captain's cabin have such a strange shape with slopes? Is it to give more strength when you attach the sides? And how are things going with your 74 gun ship? Finally, it's good to see a croissant on the table. A must for every commander!
  6. Cast votes for your favourite comics in the Third Tournament of Retribution! Please vote for the best Redcoat comics and for the best Bluecoat comics in the Pirate MOCs forum. The best five of each faction will compete in the final round!
  7. Voting for the first round of the Third Redcoats vs. Bluecoats Tournament of Retribution is now open. The top 5 vote getters from each side (Redcoat and Bluecoat) will advance to the final "Prize" round of the Tournament. You have (5) points (5 for Redcoats AND 5 for Bluecoats) and you can award them amongst the entries as you please but cannot vote for yourself. Just name the participants and the number of votes you give. Further discussion can be held in the Rules Thread. Each entry's title is a link to the full comic, so please have a read and get ready to laugh! Voting for the first round will conclude on February, 16th so be sure to vote for those you want to see compete in the final round! Not every member has made 2 entries. This is something to take in mind while voting, but you can still give all 5 points to a participant with 1 entry. Also, don't vote just for the best quality images. Fun and humiliation are also very important! 1. Blackar Matrix Reloaded & PiReds! 2. Brickington A True Blue Misfit 3. dr_spock Survivor Island & Treasure Island 4. 9. Well, accusing us of some kind of plot against Sebeus is a bit exaggarated. I just forgot to add his entry Nevertheless, thanks for pointing it out!
  10. Enjoy! Thanks for watching! Funny thing is, first I came up with the name Piglet Johansson, and then it turned out that Scarlet once played in a movie called "My brother the pig". So that's why I gave it this name.
  11. It's nothing personal. I see every redcoat as a pig. After the tournament I'll behave myself again
  12. Looking good I like the cable mechanism and the classical look! It's also nice how some plants climb on the rocks like some sort of ivy. Do the two minifigs on top of the building represent certain people? I'm asking because the fleshie catches your attention.
  13. It's a good comic. Humiliating for sure! You did a great job on the story, the photography and the editing. I do think we had the better costumes though. More diversity at least
  14. Nice comic! I too liked the image with all the animal redcoats. Especially the snake and duck! The sword reflection is nice too. Seems like Purpearljellyblob gets treated unfairly by her own kind in multiple comics. Perhaps it isn't a play after all. Maybe she really wants to be a Bluecoat. But I'm not convinced...
  15. Actually I thought that you, ZCerberus and Blackmoor didn't really play for prizes, so in that case it wouldn't be a big deal. I could give penalty points in the voting, but I don't know what would be a decent amount of those. It depends on the number of voting members, so I'm afraid that will be quite difficult. But you're one of the organizers, so if you can come up with a way to make this fair to all participants you might try it.
  16. Great I like the "dividing stupidity by itself" quote! The quality could have been better, but on the other hand this has quite a cartoonish look which is also nice.
  17. Great photo-editing Especially on the effects in the fighting scene. But how dare you dress me up like that before my death And you must realize that you just killed the best croissant baker in the world.
  18. Good one. Very clear pictures and good editing. I also like the comic-look of the trees in the background. On the other hand, that shows even more that this is pure fiction
  19. A short entry, but it's nice and you clearly spend some time on the text Is this song based on any real song in particular?
  20. Gone to the sharks. A classical pirate ending for a good comic This is clearly a sign of bad communication on the Redcoat side. But I hope/guess they won't learn anything from it so we can laugh some more in the future
  21. Nice one! I haven't seen that many comics with ships yet. The pictures are also large and detailed with a very readable text It seems like you could make a rather good raft out of redcoat bodies.
  22. Yes, 3rd of february. GMT-10 but I'm not really going to be that precise. Just somewhere around that time. Preferably earlier if you want to make sure. I'm not going to sit behind my computer watching the clock.
  23. Oh could be. Well you get the point. It's just until it's the 3rd of january everywhere in the world.
