  1. Nice moc. I have to agree with everyone else, the red interior and orange body just don't go together. Also what did you do with the red shocks? Did you cut the top off or is that just a regular axle? The exhaust idea is a tad bit cheesy, but I guess that it works. Still very nice.
  2. Well, the final product certainly lived up to the expectations of the teaser video. It looks quite nice. I love the front end and doors! I agree with what the others have said about the rear end. Those white panels are just too long pointing downwards and are making it look too bulky while the real 720S has a much sleeker look. Also as mentioned above, I think the flexible axles in the rear need repositioning or raised a bit as they back part of the axle is hitting the tire when the suspension is pressed. Still a very solid car and one of the best this year. By the way, The video work is as impressive as the car.
  3. This is a sad day. I didn't know he was sick.
  4. Looks nice. Not a big fan of the entire area behind the doors though.
  5. I would imagine that It will crack the weak axle hole in that connector before it twists the axle. I seem to recall Lego using torsion bars on a simple machine in an ideas book a very long time ago, but I don't think that they would ever use parts in that way today as damaging parts isn't something that fits their design criteria. I must say that I was unexpectedly surprised and pleased with the release of this new Land Rover model. The build design looks very interesting.
  6. At first, I thought that this was a new Lox Lego car. Looks nice.
  7. I've seen a lot of Technic Jeeps over the years, and I would have to put this one in the top tier. Very well done.
  8. If you guys were making your own custom models based off of your own ideas, I would be marching right beside you in your crusade against thievery, but unfortunately, that isn't the case here. One of the main reasons why your models are getting stolen is because of the illegally used IP that you have attached to them, which was also helping you sell your instructions in the first place. This whole "I am only taking pennies while they take dollars" excuse is pretty ridiculous. I understand that YOU are the ones designing the models, but the names behind them are just as important, if not more so.
  9. I challenged you because your comments led me to believe that you do not seem to understand that what you are doing may not seem to be as immoral as another builder(or company) using your model's design for their own profit, but you are in fact illegally using a company's name on your model for your own monetary gain. I don't know how you or anyone else selling instructions and using a company's name can brush off illegally using their IP(like the ones that Lego actually pays for) as if it is no big deal, and then complain when someone rips off your model. This is like saying "I only took and egg, but they stole the chicken" As far as the entire rebricakable business needing to be shut down, that is for the owner of that website to decide. Oh please. I will defend any AFOL when it comes to their models being stolen, and I have done so in the past. My point is that when AFOL are profiting off of their models using the IP of a company that they are not actually working with, then they can't get too mad when their own ideas get used by someone else. I would absolutely love for someone with actual law experience come into and post in this thread and give some insight.
  10. I am assuming that you didn't get McLaren's permission to use their name correct? Would you be upset if they took legal action against you because you are profiting off of their name by selling instructions?
  11. The front looks great! The stickers work is absolutely amazing. The rear quarter panels feel a bit uninspired with all of the beam stacking though.
  12. It really sucks that this happens, but as I have seen in the past and heard from other builders, I doubt there is really anything that can be done about it. I do have a question for those builders who design models based on real life vehicles. Is it actually legal for you to sell instructions of those vehicles and use their company names if you are not working with those companies or have their permission? I remember Paul(crowkillers) saying that he had made his Porsche instructions free because of legal issues with the company. Perhaps he could off more insight into this.
  13. Weight for motorized models is definitely a drawback.
  14. Congrats! $1,350 is nice amount for a great cause.
  15. Understood.I just think that if you want to get the most out of this as you can that showing off everything that it has would be a key factor. It's great showing some functions working while not showing your hand, but it also gives the illusion that it is remote controlled, which could cause you some grief if your top bidder thinks that he or she is getting something that they are not.
  16. I think that you did a fine job with a rather difficult car. One question though, where is the video demonstration of the shifting/gearbox functions? Hope that you raise a lot of money!
  17. Aero flaps, Gullwing doors, and that suspension type? Sounds like it is going to be a Pagani. It will be nice to see another builder's take on that iconic supercar. Can't wait to see it.
  18. It's awesome seeing people use their skills to raise money for charity to help others in need.
  19. The chrome and stickers look amazing. They really make the model pop.
  20. Very neat build. I like the colors.
  21. It's true. I've seen pictures on facebook showing what looks to be a super charger, spoiler, side pipes, and numerous front and rear tiles for license plates.
