  1. The wheels look a bit small for this scale.
  2. Yeah, they're definitely stickers. You can see the outline edges of them in the first post of this thread.
  3. I would have to agree with you on that.
  4. So how does this work? Can the L Motor be programed to return to center? I don't have the 42099 set.
  5. Hmm. Not quite what I was expecting. It's kind of all over the place. And no servo motor?
  6. This is fantastic. The backwards gears thing drives me crazy. I am still surprised that Lego couldn't come up with a solution like this.
  7. Those are nice cars. If you're planning on selling instructions, it would probably be a good idea to make videos showing the functions. I would like top see a video before committing to buy.
  8. I am very interested in seeing your solution.
  9. Is it April 1st already? Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this has bad idea written all over it.
  10. That's a good point. Sometimes stickers are vastly overused. I am seeing more and more models that are completely wrapped in stickers. Graphics are hard to replicate with parts though. I have noticed on the Technic Facebook page that models wrapped in stickers generate many many more likes than models that are built just as well if not better. I guess it is just a matter of taste.
  11. Cool. Looks like a modern style El Camino.
  12. This is kind of dated, but it's a good read for new builders. https://jalopnik.com/how-to-build-a-supercar-out-of-lego-5919114
  13. Very impressive sticker job. The sticker work is getting so good on some of these models that you can't tell that they are Lego.
  14. I finished the chassis last night. I have to admit, so far this doesn't feel like a model that was designed by Lego.
  15. I am also curious if there is a way to change the reverse gear to make it the same(or similar) ratio to 1st gear. You can flip the stickers around, but reverse is still going to be incorrect.
  16. So the gearing ratios are correct in your build with 1st gear driving the fake engine the fastest? In the RB video, it is the exact opposite. 1st gear should spin the fake engine the fastest when pushing along and cause the most friction. I mean this is the way that it has been with every other MOC or Lego set that I've ever built.
  17. I guess that I am in the minority here because I like to see a gearbox in vehicle and actually see all of those gears turning and know exactly what is happening and why. I find it fascinating seeing different ways that people come up with to change gears. I understand that Lego's design is more complex than a real vehicle, but what other building toys out there replica functions like this? I feel that Lego's gearboxes are a great learning tool, especially for young builders. My kids love building those parts in the Lego cars.
  18. I don't see any mention of the gears being out or sequence(or reversed) as stated in the other review. Was this something that you encountered?
  19. This is a really nice bike. Not sure about that blue bevel gear just floating there though. That decision is certainly going to raise some eyebrows from those who purchase your instructions.
  20. From the hype, I was expecting that we would finally get a gearbox in a model that had no issues. Claiming it to be the most sophisticated gearbox by Lego and then having it shift the opposite way is kind of a let down and somewhat confusing why they would allow this to happen. Gearbox issues aside, I think the model looks great overall and I will certainly be picking one up on October 1st.
  21. So the most sophisticated gearbox ever designed by TLC already has issues and the set isn't even out yet. That isn't going to solve the issue with the reverse gear. Reverse and 1st should be similar in ratio, but you can see in the video that reverse is rotating the engine quite slowly when it should be moving much faster.
  22. He's been working for Lego for 6 or 7 years now.
  23. Wow. this is impressive. Ok, now let's get to this gearbox controls. One question I have is why do you turn the dial left to upshift and right to downshift? In every vehicle including Land Rovers, the paddle to upshift is on the right and the downshift is on the left. Even on autosticks that move left to right for shifting, left is downshift and right is upshift. And why does Lego always put the R-N-D backwards compared to the real vehicles? These are just small gripes over what appears to be an amazing complex model, but why not at least try and keep these simple things realistic?
