  1. Well, one things for sure, the GWP compass is as functional as the real one. EKnight
  2. As I anticipated, us Canadians have to pay $450. I shudder to think what a Dutchmen would actually cost. Eknight
  3. I honestly would much prefer the Interceptor over the Dutchman any day. We need more Imperial ships! Eknight
  4. Probably restoring it, especially if you aren't picky if the sails are real or replicas. Eknight
  5. As a Canadian, Im expecting a $400+ price tag. 330 sounds like a great price, even 380 sounds better. Eknight
  6. The hull looks amazing, and I am glad to see minifigs displayed upon it, but the proportions of the sails don't look right to me. Regardless, I cant wait to get it. Eknight
  7. Hulls were not available, I definitely would have gone for them if they were. I have still managed to kerp the part count below what I was aiming for. I also succeeded, in my opinion, of designing the hulls to not look out of place when placed next to a ship with prefab hulls. Eknight
  8. I wanted yellow flex tubes, but the BDP pallet did not have yellow available in any length. I also agree the black figure head doesnt pop. I would have to check again what colour options were available, but there aren't too many. Eknight
  9. It did... not sure why it doesn't any more. I will go fix it. Eknight
  10. The last month or two I have been spending a lot of time working on building a ship that I plan to submit for the BDP 9. It's not quite finished, I still have the interior of the cabin to complete. You may notice that this is a digital build. GASP! Elephant Knight doing digital builds? I admit, this is a first for me, but as you all know, a digital build is required for submitting to BDP. It was quite a learning curve for me. I went into this project with a couple things in mind. Number one was to keep the piece count under 2000, to have a more "affordable" boat available, if it gets that far. It currently sits at 1812 pieces, so I have some room to plat with. I also wanted it to be a merchant ship, as I felt that is what Lego is lacking. There are plenty of official Pirate ships, but nothing for them to plunder! And while there aren't many "good guy" ships, there still are some. Merchant vessels are almost non existent, and the colour scheme was chosen to reflect that of the ship found in the Imperial Trading Post. I do have a physical model built as well, but I am waiting on a couple Bricks and Pieces orders to arrive before It is finished. As well as completing the cabin. I will also have some more pictures of the virtual model up soon, but for now, let me know what you think, areas that need improving, and what sort of details would be needed! EKnight
  11. What happens when you want to build a ship in the style of 6271 Imperial Flagship, but want the scale and size of 10210 Imperial Flagship? Well you get the Imperial.... Flagship? Uuuuuh, mixing the two names together just doesn't seem to work. The Flagship flagship? Imperial Imperial? Oh, I know, the Flagship Imperial! I like to build MOCs in the classic style, but this time I actually told myself to only use parts available during the classic era. No part on this is newer than 1998 (With the possible execption of the string lengths, I didn't actually check which lengths were available back then. The cabin is accessible, though perhaps not easily. And there even is detailing in the interior! Gasp! There is also a kitchen below, just like 10210. The crew: I wanted to give the figs some more character, so I didn't use the stock figs available. I swapped out most of the heads. I am 99% sure all the heads were available in 1998. Let me know what you think, I always like to hear feedback! EKnight
  12. My favorite detail is the dark brown decking. I use reddish brown on mine, but the dark brown on yours looks so good, i am now considering the cost of changing mine. Eknight
  13. Its on the to do list. Problem is, I dont have any concrete ideas other than 'redcoat ship using nougat hulls.' Eknight
  14. A wonderful ship, and the nougat hulls look great. Ive been itching to use them myself. Eknight
  15. I am planning on posting sonething soon. The bulk of it is done, but I am hoping to get sone feedback on interior detailing. Eknight
  16. A little more than a month to get my project finished and refined. Hopefully I can stay focused on it. So many projects, so little time. Eknight
  17. As a Canadian, I was already expecting a $440 price tag. The X-Mansion, according to what I can find, is $330 USD, and $440 CDN. stands to reason the Pearl Jack Sparrow's Pirate ship will be the same. I personally have no issue with the yard arms being studded, but using technic parts, like 10210 did, does look a lot nicer. I am probably in the minority in that I don't really care if the gun deck is finished or not. Would it be nice? Sure. I pretty much never detail the interior of my own ships, so I am not too bothered, other than when someone else does it, I have more ideas to steal from get inspired by when I do my own. If I ever do. The new rear image makes the sails look wider than the first, which is a good thing, I didn't think the looked wide enough at first. Which reminds me, I need to remake the sails on my own Pearl MOC. EKnight
  18. I am liking what I am seeing. I am actually very happy about the new Gibbs minifig. I like how he has a much more neutral expression. I honestly prefer the original Barbossa. The ship itself looks great, cant wait to get my hands on it. Eknight
  19. I didn't even realize BDP 9 list was even out. I started working on a project that I intend to submit, I was using the BDP 8 list. Hopefully I dont have to make any major changes. Eknight
  20. A lot of great and interesting parts usage, and the raised baseplate looks good there, too! Eknight
  21. That thought had occurred to me as well. EKnight
  22. I'm very happy this made it, more pirate sets is always great, and the designer is a member of my LUG! super exciting! I'll get this one for sure, shouldn't be too expensive as it didn't use the full piece count available. EKnight
  23. Pintel without Ragetti? For shame! Though I am excited about the "confirmation" of the prefab hulls being used, and the size is exciting! Though the price point, if its accurate, and based on current sets, that would put it at the same price as the X-Mansion, which was $430 Canadian. The X-mansion had just over 3000 parts, and considered overpriced, though all the minifigs, prefab hulls and sails would increase the price. Oh well, I've been saving my VIP Insiders points for this anyways. EKnight
  24. Thank you! I agree the colours are a bit unusual, but I actually like it more than I thought I would. Eknight
