  1. I'd like to wee where this goes. I like castle themes a little more on the whimsical side, so this sounds just about up my alley. the steampunk thing could be cool, if that's still a thing, or perhaps a kind of fantasy/tech blend similar to the He-Man series. I kind of liked that kind of thing (which Chima kind of already did, but I got tired of the animal motifs real quick)
  2. dang, I was REALLY hoping the banshee hair would've stayed trans-purple... Oh well. still like her and the flyman. Gargoyle, skeleton guy and plant man are also on my list.
  3. What on earth is that??? Can it stop existing please? I was rather hoping to sleep soundly tonight.
  4. Woah. Those insect concepts look so cool....Why on earth didn't we get those??
  5. apart from the weapons, the 'water Bohrok' is easily makable with currently available assets and a little photoshopping. Firstly, the bottom of the head is a blue dragon head from that HF set from a couple years back. THe windscreen looks like it might be a chopped translucent image overlayed on top, and the 'krana' is a lime green mask of shadows shrunk down and stuck on the dragon nose. It's certainly a clever use of parts and some convincing 'shop tweaking, but the image quality does not match the Bionicle logo at the top, and the edges around the feet are a little TOO sharp for a preliminary pic. But those weapons... I REALLY want to know where those came from. Maybe some knockoff brand parts? The only real possibility here is that this is a really rough proof-of-concept build rather than a prototype, but that seems a little stretched. Still, it's exciting to speculate and I look forward to the true leaks later this summer :)
  6. Man, a portal set would be fantastic. Might just sell me on this whole shebang.
  7. We just got a display at the Wal Mart I work at. Dilophosaurus Ambush, Raptor Escape and Pteranodon Capture only, at the moment. Probably gonna pick up Ambush and Escape for the dinos at a good price.
  8. Hm... Maybe something like: Ice ruins R T: Add UW to your mana pool. Mana produced by Ice Ruins can only be used to cast spells on your turn. Oh, wrong forum lol. But in all seriousness, these concept arts are gorgeous. Wish the extended media incorporated this a little more. There really is a lot of potential to have some really cool separate story media for kids to draw inspiration from.
  9. oh wow! The model is really nice, and it harkens back to the old Miru nicely. Not sure about the length of the 'chin', though. I also might recommend painting in the white parts. While the white is a nice stark accent, it looks a little rough in the mask-especially with the texture. All things considered, though, this looks pretty rad! I think more people should 3D print custom masks. There are a lot of fantastic fan designs out there.
  10. I'm a little sad the mummy is almost the exact same as the CMF version
  11. hm... shame about the picture size... I would really love a large close up of some of these sets... That brain thing is too cool.
  12. I'm one hundred percent sold on the Dilophosaurus.
  13. oh, that Pakari... buth then Luke Skywalker happened, and THOSE LEG SHELLS!
  14. here's hoping we get come good up-close pics of the blendy masks.
  15. Ah, that's a relief. In regards to that concept art... I'm a little sad that the designs ended up as they are, rather than the stricter redesign of the old masks. And squid Gali is weird. I really like the elemental spikes(hair?) on concept Tahu. Would've been cool to have connection points on the back of the masks for flourishes like that.
  16. Really hoping these'll be available in America... I mean, I don't really NEED one, but I'd kick myself for missing an easy exclusive.
  17. Oh man, those ghost guys are gorgeous. LOVE the trans-back cowls and ghots tails and trans legs and AAAAAAAH. Too much good stuff.
  18. so are they not available in North America yet? I can't seem to find the original ad for it.
  19. These are probably the best fantasy sets I've seen in a long time. I enjoy my epic set pieces, and battles, and ogres and knights and such.... but boy is it refreshing to get something a little more whimsical. Plus, this is probably the closest we'll get to an MLP aesthetic, and that's mighty fine. Now if only they'd stop using those goofy animal molds.... They don't have to be silly looking to be cute, and I think it's a darn shame that they fall utterly out of style with traditional minifigures. But now I'm just nitpicking. These sets are gorgeous, and I want them all. That's effing adorable, BTW
  20. I'm seeing a lot of hate for the new bones, but I think that they'll be the kind of piece that looks a LOT better in hand. Plus, they're used rather poorly in these sets, so there's that. Skull Basher is a first-day buy for me, both because he's y far the best of the bunch and because Trans-purple. Also, the dual-injected Pakari is too good to pass up. I might get Skull Warrior or Slicer for parts. Skull Grinder VS Ekimu is almost a definite buy for me, but this year is gonna be tough on the wallet, so I might just bricklink Ekimu and the MoCR. Overall not as impressed with this wave as the Toa, but I applaud the new design effort, and Appreciate that they've included a Technic aspect, even if it is rather forced. Also, the trans bone armor is gorgeous. I don't even care if they look out of place on some sets. The color variety excites me.
  21. Ther had better be a Grievous, if they're taking the constraction route. I'd LOVE to see some new molds for his armor and face. It's a really cool aesthetic that could really spice up MOCs
  22. Oh man, I'm SOOOOO glad they included Alex. It really helps flesh out your mini-mine world.
  23. wowee. What an awesome collection of new stuff. The cat-ears and pigtails are gonna be popular, I can tell. And the plant monster man is hands-down my favourite. Gonna have a hard time picking just a few of these to buy.
  24. Ah, Gingerbread.... widely overlooked as a stable building material due to its extreme edibility, it has been a staple to many a merry folk in the North pole. Malleable when warm, yet stalwart and unyielding once set, anyone who knows what's what can tell you that Gingerbread is where it's at. And no-one quite shows this off like the Gingerbread man himself, standing proudly outside of his Gingerbread Bakery. No one-not even Santa- knows what secret techniques and age-old recipes lie within, but no-one can doubt that the confections that emerge are beyond compare. "A present...made of Gingerbread?? How did you know?" ---------- So this entry was a little late, mostly because I'm a terrible procrastinator, and partly because it took me a while to get a passable photography setup. I apologize if the pictures are a little unprofessional, but I hope you all enjoy. I had a lot of fun putting this together. I'll post a link to the gallery at the end, for those of you interested in some other angles. Also, no... there is no interior. Gingy likes to keep his trade secrets a secret, after all. ;) Merry New Year, everyone! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=551275 <== Gallery(when public)
  25. I just want to use this piece to make a Frenzy minifig with no awkward minifig body.
