  1. there seems to be a glowy relic piece in each set, with te castle featuring all five(?) colours in the main window. I, for one, LOVE the new fishman, the glow-in-the-dark skellie horse and the Castlevania Dracula's castle. The Ghost Train is also spectacular, featuring a new ghost shroud! I'm really digging the crossbow and the human figs- it's a nice return to wacky themes, and I can definitely see the comparison with the Time theme of old.
  2. I would like to see pictures showing the detachable dino parts and what kinds of connections they have.
  3. Twilight is now a Cheshire cat and maybe a pedobear lol. It was awesome.

  4. did anyone save individual pics of each fig? I wasn't able to get more than the group shots...
  5. hm... I'm getting 505 errors. any chance somebody has the packs and spinner set pics saved?
  6. If splitface's helmet DOES divide, that could potentially redeem an otherwise useless part. I like his helmet enough, but the split color really can't be used for many other models. Same with the torso, but other than that, he's got some excellent parts.
  7. I find the lack of topic activity disturbing.... I think the color scheme for the vehicles is off-putting because the combinatioin of mostly yellow with slashes of red is loud and obnoxious and just a little bit aggressive. HOWEVER, I like it. I like it because the decals are an absolute homage to Jurassic Park and because the yellow works great to accentuate the human faction's industrial direction in stark contrast to the organic pallet and aesthetic of the dinos. I think that adding green at the base of the vehicles to match Jurassic Park would have looked a little nicer, but the lampooning would have become too blatant. As it is, I think some modding will be in order. That said, I think this theme is a great playful idea that I'm sad to say will likely only be a one-waver like Pharaohs Quest or Alien Conquest. For what it is, it is magnificent. Because I'm a sucker for trends, I'm going to give my impressions thus far: 5884 Raptor Chase/Pursuit- Easily my favorite. As a kid, the raptors in Jurassic Park stole the show. A wicked smart dinosaur with an arsenal of pointy bits. This dino fig looks amazing and the poseability looks good so far. The truck looks sturdy and the barricade has some neat bits, but once again, the raptor steals the spotlight. A certain buy for me. 5883 Pteranodon Tower- Sweet merciful Bricklink! It's about time we got a poseable pterosaur! The tower is... okay. Those tower rigging panes are nice, and the fish lure is neat, the minifigure looks great so far, and I really dig the tranquilizer gun. This one is a maybe for me. 5882 Coelophysis?/Troodon- Excellent parts pack, the dino is the weakest of the theme, which is to say I want multiples. The vehicle actually looks great for such a small scale thing, and the foliage will be a nice addition to larger models. Will definitely buy 5885 Tyrannosaurus with copter I've seen a lit of nagging on the size of the chopper, but to be honest, a full-scale transport aircraft would be ridiculously huge. I think this works for short-distance carrying of a tranquilized T-rex. Actually, I can see this working better with the Triceratops... Perhaps the two are supposed to swap dinos? That would explain the confusion in the set names... Still, the ckopter has nice parts and the sexy angular window, and of course, the T-rex. I may pass on this, if only to buy the facility with the other t-rex. 5888 Hydroplane I'm seeing some potential in this one, actually. There looks to be some good bulk in the main segment. And it has that beautiful Pteranodon in green. I'll wait for reviews to be certain, tho. I'm optimistic. 5886 Triceratops Transport This set is pure win. The transport truck looks really heavy-duty like it could hold a number of dinos. The triceratops looks fantastic as well. Depending on price, this might be a must for me I'll share my opinions on the HQ set when I get clearer pics
  8. Heh Heh Heh... Totally called it. AND the cobra!
  9. Chances are, we'll see them in the summer wave along with Stormer and Bulk and Harkness... Okay, maybe not that last one, but I get the feeling we'll be getting a good dose of ALL of the heroes this year at different points. BTW- Any chance I could get a brohoof?
  10. Things to note: Hypnobrai is awesome. There's a two-headed red snake guy Lord Garmadon has FOUR arms now... Golden Rice hat! New snake molds! The snake vehicles look amazing The snake staffs are the same mold with different clip-on studs The new spinner parts are really cool new minifig boosters containing the character and their armor/weapons as well as cards I like the printed snake guy heads, but not the 'hood hats' they wear. New minifig headgear, armor, weapons galore! LOTS of new parts in general. Boat is awesome with recoloured dragon head. I approve of this theme. Alslo, some more closer pics
  11. I know the hate is coming, but personally, I LOVE the new molds. They look like action figures, yes, but they also look like proper dinosaurs! I want them all! I think they look much like the old dino island dinos mixed with the Dino 2010 dinos in a perfect combination of the two.
  12. Ninjago Spinners closer
  13. Dinos!!!
  14. I've made the same argument myself, but to no avail... I agree with you 100%, except that prelims are placeholder images done up while they're still in the process of making the final parts and prints. The preliminaries need to be sent to the distributors ASAP, so as soon as even a rough idea is laid out,k they snap it, send it and then bang out the kinks.
  15. where did you see these pics?
  16. Are the molded bricks really small, or is it a larger stone brick texture?
  17. I'm stoked for the beehive. If it's a new piece, then cool, if it's brick-built then I'm eager to see what clever mechanic is employed to convey it. Do we get bees, I wonder? The bear sound promising, too. I'm guessing we'll get a smoothed-out brown or black version of the polar bear mold with perhaps eyes pr markings printed- like what we got with the new dog mold. A wheelbarrow would be fantastic. And please, oh PLEASE give us a new type of criminal!
  18. Over at the 2012 city topic, Mirandir elaborated on the new molded wall piece. From what I understand, it will be a 2x1 brick with a brick wall texture molded into it. It'll probably be a pattern that connects with more of those bricks for maximum usefulness. And since we are doing the whole 'ask Mirandir' thing, I'd like to ask what he remembers of the snakemen and whether or not they have head molds or just printed minifig heads.
  19. I saved it in the huge size, but I'm hesitant to upload it to my Brickshelf, Flickr or Majhost gallery, as I'd rather not have any of them taken down.
  20. I think all arguments ought to stop soon enough... I was just over in the minifigs topic and we got catalog pics of the next wave and some Star Wars, so I would say we'll be seeing the other themes VERY soon.
  21. WOW! That bedhead hair is amazing! And the doctor with the hairnet and x-ray chart is simply superb! The toy robot is gonna be a HUGE hit for me, as it will add some variety in my space MOCs. The only fig I could do without is the Flamenco dancer... Any chance this fellow got pics of some of the other themes?
  22. Me too. Those dino figs were beautiful. Really only limited by their lack of pose-ability. Here's hoping these new ones will be awesome too! Especially the velociraptor.
  23. If the figures looked like that, I would be one happy panda.
  24. I think it actually has a classic logo vibe to it. Back when lego had fun logos like the old adventurers theme logos or the old LEGO star wars logo.
  25. I'm pretty well decided that any further complaints of Ninajgo being 'ridiculous' are kind of redundant. The whole theme is built on ridiculous and I think we can learn to love it for that. The only thing still bothering me is the name Lloyd.... Aside from that, bring on the mechanical terrors!
