  1. I got two lizardmen and two gladiators, the zookeeper and the dwarf. The Gladiators were IMPOSSIBLE to find. I had to go through three mostly full boxes before I found mine. My guess is someone went through the other boxes and grabbed the rest. The Lizardmen, on the other hand, were PLENTIFUL. I found, like four others in one box, then four more in the next, then three in the next, plus the two that I got. I'm very happy with them.
  2. I'm pretty sure HypnOBRAi is a COBRA (the letter are bolded to show similarities). A Hypnotic cobra minifig sounds kind of epic. And "Scales" is a lame name, but let's hope it's a cool minifig. I'm just guessing on the name meanings, but given LEGO's track record of punny names, I'd say it's a fair assumption.
  3. What are our usual sources for leaks? I've checked BS and Flickr, but nothing's cropped up there yet. Perhaps other forums?
  4. interesting, although this probably would have been better posted in the 2011 topic, unless you wre implying that those might be future colours, to which I say that would be kind of awesome. Unfortunately, I doubt we'll get that many new colours for the ninja gear unless that's part of the new booster pack system... hm... What if the sell boosters of ninja outfits and weapons in a huge array of colours so that kids can really make their own ninja character?
  5. It would be really cool to see some lesser-known dinos and other prehistoric beasts. A Dunkleosteus, for example would be an awesome model. Or maybe we'll get some crossed species like the Chaos Effect Jurassic Park toys. That could potentially be awesome right there, provided we are given enough parts to make each respective dino on its own
  6. aw... even better research! I just checked over there myself, and sure enough- august 15th was the date we got a glimpse of the wheeled vehicular. So it really could be any day now. Hey, Mirandir, do you think you could do a quick sketch of the other headgear you mentioned?
  7. actually.... Hate to burst your bubble, but yesterday I went through the topics from last year to see when we got leaked pics for this year's sets and we didn't get pics until around the 18th-20th of September. Which means it may very well be a couple more weeks until we see anything, unless someone manages to find a retailer's catalog before then.
  8. ooooh! I remember that post! wow... we really get a headgear that awesome? I'm kind of stoked! say, do you remember if the snakemen had head molds? were they all different, or just the same thing in multiple colours?
  9. was it another forum? I only remember the post noting two headgears. DO you know if they're new samurai helmets or new ninja hoods?
  10. hey mirandir, I was wondering if there is any way you could nudge us in the right direction in regards to finding these pictures? Right now, you're probably the only person who knows anything so far, which is odd for this time of year...
  11. no worries, man. I really wish I had save a picture of that spinner part I saw on taobao... it looked kind of like a lego beyblade lol.
  12. well it really depends on how well mirandir remembered what he saw. I mean, he said the snake people from ninjago had legs, but then what of those tail bits we saw?
  13. Believe you me: It's what we're ALL thinking right now.... soon... so very soon... I just hope people try to keep in mind that whatever LEGO does for the Dino theme, it may very well be not what we were expecting or even hoping for. I just don't want this topic to be turned into a flame war when we get pix
  14. Which leaked photo? The one I saw showed a singular tail, though multiples would be kind of neat. But if we really wanted multiple tails, wouldn't we just use the tentacles from Atlantis/Alien Conquest? EDIT: Just did two more sketches- the purple and red snake people. TWO SNAKES?
  15. Kay... here's a VERY rough sketch I did on Paint a couple of minutes ago. please note that this is only what I THINK the snakemen will look like, and not an actual representation of something existing... that I know of. Clicky to see this head mold is more like the classic dragon, but I like it. The real thing will probably look much different, but I think the idea will remain similar: Molded printed head, printed body, printed snake tail. I'm thinking of coming up with five different heads for each color, since that's probably what LEGO will do.
  16. All righty! We're so very close to seeing prelims, so I think it's about time we start predictions! I'd like to see drawings, sketches, ideas and such of what you guys think we'll see. What do you think the snake man will look like? What about Lloyd Garmadon? I think this will be a fun way to pass the time until we see some real stuff, and when we DO see it, we can compare what we guessed and see who guessed right! Personally, I'm gonna try my hand at some quick sketches of what I'm thinking the snake people might look like. What do you guys think?
  17. hey- I've got that middle ninja's torso! I found it in a bag of legos at my local thrift store. Anyway, I would really like to see some elemental weapons for our ninjas- like for Zane, something trnas-blue, and for Kai, trans-red etc. As far as our protagonist's outfits goes, I'm hoping to see something new- something that shows they've graduated and are masters of their art. Perhaps a gold printing of their elemental insignia? Whatever happens, I really hope they lose the whole names-on-the-backs-of-their-robes dealio. It makes it very hard to use those awesome dragon torsos for anything else.
  18. Oh hay! What if we get some sort of Dinotopia-esque theme? Not Dinotopia exactly, but similar. Perhaps we'll get two factions? Regular explorers/adventurers/whatever and the natives/dinosaur tamers/dino riders? or maybe more creature figs? Like dinosaur people? I just hope they don't so that whole cavemen-and-dinos thing. That bugs me hugely.
  19. excellent point. The fantastic sure is a core theme of this...er... theme, and the vehicles ought to reflect that, though some sort of combination of fantastical and ancient in the same look would be immaculate. I've always loved the Japanese culture and the look of ancient carvings, monsters, etc. If we could get some stickers or tiles with Oni depictions I would just about sell my soul to LEGO lol. ...maybe next year. I'm kinda stoked that they chose snake people, as that is the last thing I would have seen coming before that teaser image. And I'm hoping those snake staffs are epic. Ooh! do you suppose we'll finally get a new snake mold or two? I'd like one that's partially cioled, like a cobra-about one or two studs wide.
  20. Man, oh man.... I had almost forgotten about the 2001 dinosaurs... I had the mosasaurus and the black version from the Mutant killer whale set from the agents theme, but unfortunately lost ALL of the parts. The thing I liked was the look. They looked and felt like the Dino Island dinosaurs, but had the pose-ability that I desired, but unfortunately, they were made up of parts that were unusable outside of that building scheme. I would like to see something similar, but with connection points that can be utilized in other building styles, though I would like a joints system that isn't as clunky as the clicky joints, bt not as loose and unorganic as the ball joints. Dear god... what am I asking!? For that matter, what are we all asking?? Much as my above comment was true to my feelings toward my expectations and hopes, I think we may all be jumping the bus and asking for too much. At this point I can guarantee that we'll all be at the very least moderately disappointed when we see the preliminaries. Much as it's healthy to desire, I think we oughta take a moment and try not to think on the subject of dinosaur molds.... On the other hand, I think talk of vehicles and sets in general might do us some good. For example, can we expect ruins, modern-day cities, post-apoc, or even jungle scenery? Maybe it will be a dinosaur planet similar to the Ice Planet theme? Personally, I'm hoping for a sort of lost world idea with all kinds of exotic prehistoric monsters and gigantic bugs and carnivorous plants.
  21. Hm... some Acai Berry tea sounds nice, actually... with cupcakes. I'll invite Pinkie Pie over, and we'll have the best cupcake-tea party evar! Care to join? I'm also looking forward to the snakemen. new monster heads are more than welcome. As far as LLoyd goes, not the prettiest name, and the pun is pretty weak, but let's not forget a certain Mr. Christopher Lloyd who makes that name suddenly awesome no matter where it's used. At least for me- his name was the first thing that came to mind when I heard the rumors. I agree with you on the vehicles, tho. It would be fantastic if the ninja vehicles looked like they were made of bamboo and carven stone, or at least looked like ancient tech. Cogs. Lots of cogs.
  22. can anyone recall where we usually find the leaked catalog pics?
  23. I actually preferred the old dino island theme. The Dino-figs were excellent and the whole look had that authentic adventureres feel. Dino 2010 was... not bad, as far as the good guys were concerned, but the dinosaurs were AWFUL! Largely unusable parts, <insert that tiresome argument> mutant dinos and unposable raptors. The dinos LOOKED cool in their own right, but without the ability to reuse any of their parts into most MOCs, the idea just fell flat. I would like to see dinos with some new kind of ultra-customizable body idea and parts that can not only be interchanged, but used with traditional creature builds as well. And smaller critters like the raptors should have a body type that utilizes the clip system that the Ninjago skellies use, only more dino-y.
  24. Actually,Venomari shrine sounds pretty cool. Prolly an impulse set, but still sounds neat. Anyone know anything about retailer's pics soon?
  25. Kokarikoo? Maybe Kakariko from the Legend of Zelda? That would be pretty boss
