Oh man, those Protector masks get better every time we see them. This final iteration is all badass. Also, black/purple mix is basically my dream come true. Got hype for days here. And the New Pakari looks so stunningly good... and surprisingly close to the original. Thank goodness.

LEGO Minecraft (Minfigure Scale) 2014 Rumors and Discussion
---Vertea--- replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Oh man yes!!! So glad the Creeper is a new mold and not that awful brick-built horror we saw in the process pics. Also, looks like the animal heads are a new wrap-about brick, and the Endermen have a brand new body mold. Here's hoping we can put these parts to varied use. -
Oh man, the sail on that boat.... This theme is delicious for fantasy MOCs and anything even slightly whimsically inclined or magically themed. I really hope those elemental tiles are printed.

I'm a little shocked that they changed the hau design from the great looking prototypes, but I don't think I hate it.... Gali's mask is ghastly. But I really like it from a purely design standpoint. Lewa and Pohatu's masks are spot-on, and Kopaka still looks like Kopaka. LOSS asctually looks quite good now. BUT WHERE IS ONUA. lol but seriously, though; I really want to see his final mask design. He was my first and old Pakari is still my favourite mask ever, so I'm a little apprehensive.

I do kind of miss matoran lettering though. Still, Mask of Creation gets an A+ in my book. It looks cool as hell. And flippable masks means mouthlessness can be a thing on masks again! yay! I honestly prefer the masks to be masks, not faces. That was my biggest peeve with the Bionicle trilogy.

New masks look like they clip on to the face. judging from that MoC spinny on the Facebook page.

Oh, man this the BEST thing to see after work. Still geeking out over some of the other theme stuff as well, but I'll try to give my best... Firstly, I love the Protectors. The mask design is basically Jaller Mahri's but more slick and a hundred percent awesome. I'm liking the variants with the water and fire ones, too. Nice touch. The builds are simple, but the parts are going to be worth it, I think. The Skull Spiders are all that I asked for and more. Skulltula, anyone? It looks like they have perhaps a button on the forehead/abdomen. Light up eyes? Lord of Skull "Krata" is less impressive as of now, but I'm optimistic that final pictures will swing me around on that. His image gives us a wonderful look at the skull mask and it's details. And the toa.... Let me just atart out by saying that that golden Hau in Tahu's art made me like ten levels of happy. Kopaka's mask never needed improvement and I'm glad it didn't change much. Pohatu's Kakama looks like it should, and I love it. Lewa's is good, but looks nothing like Miru, and Gali's looks awful so far. But then I never was too big on classic Kaukau. And Onua's Pakari... looks like it might be very brutish and heaby-browed. Not liking that. All of the builds look great, and most will be a day-one purchase for me. SO glad I hung on to my old collection. My masks will see use again!

I liked the Po-Koro from MNOLG. It had a distinct desert vibe that wasnt necessarily tied directly to an existing culture, though it ertainly had touches of many. Phatu also seemed a little mysterious and wise when yo finally got to see him. There in a flash to save the day, then gone again before you could ask too many questions. I wouldn't mind a return to that kind of character.

Woah. Preliminaries can suck it. That design is gorgeous. Never thought I'd e okay with a crowny mask, but this just changed my mind.

The best thing about the old Kaukau was the mask pack versions meant various trans-colored versions. There really needed to be more trans masks. Nokama's was a nice advancement of the idea, with a slightly more opaque mask and clearer eye-bubbles, so it's a real shame they never followed up on that trend. Too expensive to produce?

If Bionicle does good with it's rerelease (and I have little reason to think it won't), I wonder if the ball joint system might evolve to something a little more customizable. What I found the most exciting about the early era Bionicle was that each set had this cool mechanical function that you had the pleasure of building yourself. You kind of learned the inner workings of a creature or character, and when you played with them, there was this kind of magical awe that came from seeing all these gears and rubber bands and pins working together to make a thing happen. Of course, the majority of the theme, and Constraction themes after, has had more of a focus on posability than play function, which is great and all, but I would like to see a kind of blend of the Ball joint system and some kind of mechanical function that isn't some kind of launcher. I think it's a more rewarding experience to build a model that works in an interactive way. A posable model has plenty of merit, sure; It's aesthetically pleasing, dynamic, and an excellent reference for the enterprising artist... But the playtime you have with these figures is so much more exciting when the figures lunge to attack or knock a life-giving element off one another. It's pure magic. Tl;dr- I want to see a hybrid of balljoint pose-ability and Technic functions in the future. Because fun.(and also probably an unhealthy amount of nostalgia)

I think i probably qualify, though I hardly post much anymore. Chances are, I'll be in more discussions once the new Bionicle line comes out and there's a bit more to discuss. As it is, there's too little to speculate about and what little there is to say about the images we have has already been said numerous times. Of course, there's still plenty to discuss regarding potential story stuff, but I'm not sure I want to touch that until there's more confirmed details to work off of.

I don't mind the ball system, but I really hope they make a new shell that keeps the old Bionicle aesthetic of pneumatic details and artistic gaps. Bionicle characters never really looked as smooth as the HF shells would make them. And here's hoping to more elemental looking parts. That was the biggest draw of the Glatorian era for me, as Bionicle had been getting consistently Silver and less Element themed. The guradians seem to have a nice colorful pallet, and at least their launcher is usable in basic construction, but the Toa/Masters.... I dunno. I'll wait for bigger pics for further criticism.

well this just about blew my socks off. Alright, analysis: TAHU: Gold and red(it looks like all of them have gold as a secondary). I can't be sure, but it LOOKS like he has an assembled shield/surfboard to balance out the teensy little gold daggers he's wielding in the picture. Love his redesigned mask. His spider villain looks green or some kind of tan. KOPAKA: His is the most recognizable mask from the start. He's got those big new blade parts in White/Trans blue. Looks like the same pieces that Tahu is using for his lavaboard. Also wielding a hooked spear? Looks a little out of place, but The rest of him looks solid. can't wait for clearer pics, since a lot of him blends into the background. His spider is grey, or maybe silver. ONUA: aw man... My favourite of the original six got bulky. I like his original design because it was skinny and the claws and mask made him looks kind of creepy. Oh well. Diggin' hammer looks okay. Not sure about the silver. Can't make doodly squat out of that mask. Spider is the same color as Tahu's. LEWA: Mean and green wielding twin axes. I hope the blade parts are green in the final set, tho. Colored weapons always felt more elemental. Can't really say much about this one yet. Mask looks cool, but I don't see a lot of the original in this. Spider is Blue. POHATU: Boomerangs look neat, and he is classically bottom-heavy. Not sure if I like the mask, but the color scheme of dark orange and white seems fine. Spider in this one is Blue like Lewa's. GALI: Some kind of scary golden anchor pickaxe? Well this gal means business lol. That aside, she's a color mess. Classic blue is good, but I'm so done with silver. Mask seems off. Spider is the same color as Kopaka's. SKULL SPIDER: The legs look cool, but unstable. the face does indeed look like a chest plate, which is neat. Golden mask included looks nice, possibly reversable? LITTLE DUDES: Cool compact designs. Trans colored elemental weapons are a win for me, and it looks like they all have the same mask in different colors. I doubt these are matoran or turaga. Probably some other entity. It looks like they use some different colored spiders than the three that come with the toa. And purple. YUSSSSSSSS. Other notes: It looks like the Spiders have some construction, and possibly posable legs, which would be nice. Not sure, but it almost looks like they have mask abdomens.... God, how I would love a classic masked rahi approach. There's a lot to take in, but well just have to wait and see what clearer pictures provide. Right now, I'm thinking that a lot of stuff is still in prototype phase, so the final sets might be colored differently, have better molds etc. And I really dislike that gold mask on the top of the display. It's got a bad case of the peoples.

I see the 'Gresh' holding a zamor launcher with two of these the figure next to it looks like it's got a piraka face, or at least a kind of toothy mouth. The spider's legs look really good, but I can't make out the face. and the 'Tahu' looks to have a redesigned Hau. Also, where are you guys getting the colours from? is there a coloured version of the disply pic, or are you using the Other image as reference... 'cause I can't make doodly squat out of that one. EDIT: tried to outline the 'Hau' LINK

Anyone wanna try their hand at some MOC-ups? WE have some decent silhouettes, and even some speculated parts. It's more than enough, I think, for some good old fashioned inspired building. Or maybe some artist renditions? We have plenty of material to keep this topic alive with some fun speculation.

the art in the bottom right corners of the big box sets... A 'toa' standing i front of a giant Ignika? I will agree with Dorek on the story front. Familiar faces, but a total reboot. It looks like we're back in a kind of primal world with stone structures, like in 2001, and that's more than alright with me. There's even what appears to be a Makuta-like evil eye in the background of the topper. The spider has some nicely designed legs- the shape looks more insect-y than the Visorak, and the small sets loook like they come with small bug monsters. And it looks like every set has a collectable mask. YES. Fingers crossed for the return of mask packs, yes?

it really looks like there's an additional mask in each set- even the 'toa' figures have one on the ground. Really hoping this means another quest for the masks thing. Maybe a complete remake, but following another story arc? Just notice the Visorak looking critter has six legs, not four... Rahi?
