    Made one of these before, a basic RC car lasts about 15-20 mins :// [edit] an adapter for lipo batteries would be cool. Not like lego ones, I mean like a 'raw' lipo battery.

    Cool idea.. I have only ever used LDD but I find it very quick & easy to use.

    Yes I highly suggest you don't use worm gears, even knob gears are better. Worms create way to much friction and damage parts as Zblj explained.

    Could I get disqualified for putting a manual transmission in my entry (eg a truck)? Is that too technic-y?

    I disagree with that. The weird tread on those tires means there actually isn't that much rubber touching the ground.

    I'm with Milan here but we could do what Zblj has suggested in another topic (I think it was him) and allow builders to have a digital entry with all the correct colours and such to accompany a multicoloured real model...

    If taxiing is when the vehicle is pushed around by the power from the propellers then yes, I have seen it done with a buggy motor, shouldn't be too difficult to find on YouTube. edit: cool project btw!

    Hahahah, I'm only using an xl motor for drive so I'm pretty sure I won't be going as fast as you. Is it worth getting the new tires btw? I have to use 56x26 tires. edit: I watched your chassis test vid, it's insane!

    Hey this is a really cool project! Really powerful, I wonder how it would run on an outdoor mini rally course? ;) Since there's a few rally cars being built at the moment I think I'm gonna make an Audi Quattro or a Ford Escort mk2...
