  1. Should I put a manual 2 speed gearbox in it?...
  2. The black tracks are awesome but this thing is gonna weigh a ton! ^^
  3. It doesn't look much like a Hilux but it sure is an awesome crawler! There is loads of ground clearance and good suspension, keep up the great work. :)
  4. Ok I'll try adding caster when I have another go at front suspension. In the rear I'm gonna try and make a triangulated 4 link live axle. :) [edit] here is a pic of my first 4 link prototype, it seems to work well and is very strong. http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/92293857@N05/9644923574/
  5. I do like that trophy truck very much, but I am using 81.4 tires, will the mini wishbone set up be strong enough?
  6. I have the mini wishbones, I haven't tried them yet because I wasn't sure if they'd be strong enough. :)
  7. Okay, thanks for the feedback everyone! I have decided to go with RWD. Now my only problem is the independent suspension for the front. I tried making a prototype this morning and it has too many flaws, have any of you seen any MOCs with good independent suspension? (I'm using 81.4 tires)
  8. Looks rad as it is man! But maybe put a grill on the front. :)
  9. Portal axles are the best way to get gear reduction, also I don't think you'll need a 1:24 reduction. Watch 'zblj1987's trial truck tip 1'. I suggest that you use a gearing that suits the weight of your crawler. :)
  10. Looks not bad so far! The main thing about crawlers is to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible, and efficient drivetrain helps too. :)
  11. Thanks for the suggestion! I actually don't know what happened to my profile pic, I haven't tried to change it or anything. :/
  12. Hey y'all! Today I am going to start building an RC trophy truck, I will post WIP photos and updates here. First things first, should it be 4WD or RWD, I'm not sure what real trophy trucks use. I just got some universal joints in the mail which means that I have 8 all together, so 4WD would be possible. I look forward to your replies. :)
  13. Sweet performance! Might even be able to compete in truck trial xD

  15. Cool crawler! Do the XL motors make much of a difference to the performance?
  16. Wow awesome little car! I love the green and the white wheels!!! (ps: when I first read the title I thought someone had mad the Fiat Panda 4x4 from TopGear (uk))
  17. Noooo! The buggy motor crawler looked EPIC!!! I have never seen anyone mount their buggy motors like that on a crawler. :D I must get myself some!
  18. Thanks everyone!!! :D about the articulation... I never actually expected to get that much out of it, I think I just set the springs up right so that they compress then kind of angle themselves to get more articulation! :P
  19. Haha, thanks guys! I was going to put a Toyota BJ40 body on it but I have other things I want to get on with.... ;D
  20. Hey everyone, I recently finished my latest rock crawler chassis! I was having trouble uploading the vid to youtube but I finally got it uploaded about 15 minutes ago. It has RC 4wd and steering (as usual), live axle suspension and a custom straight-6 engine I made, enjoy! Articulation Thanks for reading!
  21. The boss crawler showing who's boss around the house! :P that was hilarious!
  22. This is rather off topic but I think Glasgow was actually, well not sunny but at least not rainy. xD
