  1. Thanks! Really glad you like it! Well about the reek and acklay: I did plan it origanally, but I had not enough time. that arena was really a last minute build the evening for the event in about 1.5 hours Yes, it was kind of the idea to suggest to kids and other people that you can do a lot great stuff with not all that much sets. By the way, it was just a small portion of my whole collection, e.g. two years ago I had triple the space :) . As for them being stored, at my place I've got them displayed differently Yeah, ashame, maybe next year we will meet
  2. Wow that's really great! now I realise I actually do not like TLG's official ghost, yours is much better! It captures the look much better. I really love that subtle color scheme, quite different to the official set. It looks more "grown up" if you know what I mean. Good to see you also managed to put some interior in. All in all, great creation! It might even be the best created ghost to date. (I actually did not see that many yet, seems not very popular)
  3. Thanks Jedi bendu! looks nice! was that the only Lego SW? O you went too? Did I happen to see you? you've probalbly seen my SW display (the hoth-geonosis one :) ) and I strongly agree about the underrepresented sw stuff
  4. Beautiful render! yesterday I got a presentation about MLCat and Ldraw, it make it look quite hard and tedious. I like it you took the time for it even twice :) Did I hear that right? Free beer? well insult me too sometime then!
  5. Very nice! Those technic brick pieces are over-apperant though and the connection does not look very solid. The rest is very cool, no matter what keep it that way
  6. I'll be attending LW again. I have my display almost ready, all seven days but just 2.4 meters. Anyone else going?
  7. I don't know exactly how it's supposed to look like, but did you already try a bar 4L with technic pins on either end; for the grip just a bar 1L with mechanical claw?
  8. Congrats BEAVeR and MKjoshA, I wish you best luck and much fun!
  9. I always must laugh about those fake fan made conversations of TLG and a designer. I think it is because of another reason, namely, that by testing the sets with kids that they thought it was to fiddly to link all those threads and children didn't enjoy it. So they opted for printed dishes. You could of course replace them with the original chains from the older set, but it's quite expensive. You lose around €10 each hailfire droid, that isn't cheap
  10. Nice take on the AAT. It's definitely a better scale like this than the new one! I like how you also managed to put in some interior. However, it feels a bit "messy"on the front shell; I looks much smoother in the movie, maybe you can find a way to improve this? Also, i feel that the part that sits on top of the shell is a bit to large; of what i remember the cabin sits more arrogantly on the back of the vehicle and is thinner and shorter too.
  11. You mean this shot: Are those worp rats? Wookieepedia has them looking like this:
  12. Okay, thank you. And did I miss something? And what is it precicely with that senate troopers set? That short character, could that be the alien of the 7 min preview?
  13. Well, I'm not exactly what I call lazy or something like that, but I haven't checked this topic since the beginning, as I was on holyday. But I think it goes to far reading >900 posts. Could somebody help me telling what I missed? Of what I've understood from other sites, the winter 2015 line-up will consist of: Microfighters sets: 75072 ARC-170 Starfighter - ARC pilot 75073 Vulture Droid - Battle droid 75074 Snowspeeder - Snowspeeder pilot 75075 AT-AT - Snowtrooper 75076 Republic Gunship - Ep. II clone 75077 Homing Spider Droid - Super battle droid System sets: 75078 Imperial Troop Transport (Star Wars Rebels): A device that could be similar to the 7667 Imperial Dropship set released in 2008 along with four Stormtroopers - or actually different figs? 75079 Shadow Troopers: A Battle Pack with two Shadow Troopers, two Imperial Guards in black (members of the Shadow Guard Imperial?) and a vehicle. 75080 AAT: The craft would be accompanied by Jar Jar Binks, another Gungan and a Battle Droid. 75081 T-16 Skyhopper: This box contains a pilot, a Tusken Raider and Womp Rat accompanying T-16 Skyhopper. 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype (Star Wars Rebels): Three minifigs in this set including the Inquisitor 75083 AT-DP (Star Wars Rebels): A Stormtrooper (or driver? ), agent kallus and Imperial officer 75084 Wookiee Gunship (Star Wars Rebels) All info known 75085 Hailfire Droid 75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter 75089 Geonosis Troopers: A Battle Pack with AT-RT and Clone Troopers apparently identical to the set 75035 Kashyyyk Troopers released in 2014, but with a brown / sand colored camouflage. 75090 Ezra’s Speeder Bike (Star Wars Rebels): Ezra Bridger and also two Stormtroopers. something with a set 75088 Senate Commando Troopers which was cancelled? Any other strong rumours? could someone help me with completing/validating the list? (I think this is also a helpful list for anyone who hasn't read this topic either in the last few weeks)
  14. Thanks Just2good for the pictures! That slave one is just lovely! I've always had a weak spot for the slave one, as it's my fav SW ship, and that great box art makes it even better as it gives it the classic OT feel that fits with it. I would have liked the added bonus of another exclusive fig though, but it's fine the way it is. If I can afford the lose of the money, this will be an instant buy for me at the right price I think. It will then be my first true UCS display set!
  15. Ah well, I more meant size instead of scale. sorry for that. But I'll take anything, if you rather like to make bigger versions I think they could look great too!
  16. I think you've made great work so far, and I really appreciate your invest in time. You wanted suggestions, so I have a few: - as for making the Falcon EP VII like, I think you should restrict yourself to the OT design. Most references online are from OT, and making it EP VII like will make it impossible to make the entire MOC like VII, as that movie is not out yet, so looking for ref pics of that one is extremely hard. Working that corridor back to OT will be much work, so you may keep it that way if you like. - Make brick-built figs on the scale you want to, to make it more awesome as there's more of a sence of scale. Now for example, I can't imagine how the same person that can walk in that corridor, fits in that chair. I think reason why not many people have given you tips is because actually you can find all your suggestions from reference material, and you will not have to use big pieces that limitate detail, so people giving you tips of what element to use for a shape is rare because most are obvious themselfes. If you'd like more input, ask a question in which you are in dubio for your MOC, e.g. you don't know if to use either color A or B or either piece A or B, which is best/sturdiest, that way you can get more input from people. keep it up, your somewhat 1/<insert large number here> done
  17. I want ALL seriously, I've always wanted to see a Mon Calamari ship + Home one at this scale. And when you're at it, why not just accompany it with a SSD?
  18. Great work again in this contest Markus! Besides making a good looking Steampunk Falkon you also managed to put interior in it! Hooray Good luck for the contest, you might need it!
  19. Congrats for making it to the finale, I really liked your previous builds so it is very well deserved! I also like this one, it has the same type of steampunk style to it you used in your other MOCs. Although I think your execution of the pod racer in steampunk is almost flawless, for the last round a better choice of vehicle could have been made to fetch more votes on FBTB IMO. I'm not here to criticize that though (and it's about fun in building either way), it might have other reasons (well, actually I hoped for you making a SSD in your style ) Good luck!
  20. I think you've done a great work on this freebuild! What I really like: - You've snotted it all the way down. In the snot work, you integrated those grill bricks which make a really interesting pattern, also, the red lights on the side of the lower part look great and realistic, and using the cheese to step up to the next level looks like a great smoother transition. - What also makes this MOC stand out, is the in my opinion great use of stickers and printed part on most places. - That ceiling also adds a lot. It makes it feel more in ship like, which is of course good, and those megaphones and flex tubes look great on there! - There is more to like, but I think the above ones stood out mainly. What I think would make your next MOC even better: - What bugs me just a bit, very minor detail, in some MOCs, is the way tiles are used. E.g. on the front most you used 1-1x8, 2-2x2, 1-2x4 on the left, while on the right you used 3-1x8. This looks a bit strange to me, as the edges are quite prominent, and changing it to a uniform range of tiles would only cost a little bit of extra time. - You used wedge bricks, which is a great idea, but you separated them 1 brick backward each time, which made it look like you wanted it to be smooth, but it wouldn't work so you did this. My suggestion is either to keep the ridged effect going, or align them all, which in my opinion both look more like you wanted it to look like that and you deliberately choose those pieces. - I see some symmetric inconsistensies on places. Sometimes insymmetric things can look very good (like the top most black stickered tiles), but sometimes they look a bit like it was a mistake or sloppy. E.g. take that walkway with the astromech - on one side after the red lights immediately the cheese slopes begin, while at the other side there is a half plate spacing between them. I think it would look better to make these spacings equal and make the colours of the cheese match. I decided to make a longer post then I normally do, because I see some points here that are really good on which I'd like to compliment the builder on, and some points I think the builder will benefit from if token attention on his next MOC. Please do not take the tips as hard critism or anything like that. Also I made a long post, because Beaver didn't comment on this one yet
  21. I really like both of your designs! keep up the great work, and make us happy with more! :D
  22. Don't know if your question has already been answered, but I still have one lying around, that I think I can miss. PM me if you're interest, I could sell it to you.
  23. Bought a 75020 Jabba's sail barge to add to my collection, wanted the set for a while but waited for a decent price. eventually got it new for €80 including shipping, a bargain in netherlands IMO. Still no regrets
  24. Looks better then the one from the set, that's for sure! Have you already checked the one from the 7913 clone trooper battle pack? I personally think that's the best start to base a design on instead of the sidecar one, as 7913 is more in scale with a minifig in my opinion.
  25. I don't know how to explain that properly, but it basically means you've been explained something and make the same mistake again. It's usually an emoticon someone uses if he thinks someone cannot possibly be that stupid. Sounds harsh, I know lind whisperer even included a link in his post with the explanation, even more, sorry, don't take it personally.
