  1. Looks great! A lot smoother, better sized, increased mobility on the joints and more accurate, I love it! At first I thought the head looks a bit small in comparison with the legs, but that is just because the actual Lego set has a rediculously large head
  2. Wow! Great build! I like it a lot, it looks very accurate. I'm looking forward to see more MOCs of you.
  3. No. At least it's not UCS, but popular opinion seems to be this is a really big set. I actually don't get why at all - there is no source at all for it being big. Usually the september/october D2C sets are around 100€/$/{. Does anyone share my opinion? BTW I just really hope that flash speeder contains a decent amount of Naboo security guards, to lower those redicuously high aftermarket prices of the one in the MTT
  4. It seems to me that all of the new sets are a bit high in price... which leads me to believe they will contain a lot of extra stuff other than what one can derive of the sets name.
  5. I think the new UCS TIE will contain a new TIE cockpit, considering last two UCS's also did got a new mold for their cockpit (X-wing and Slave I) Also, I think they then will use the same cockoit mold/piece as window in the Final duel set.
  6. That's not true. Many people seem to think that the Ewok Village designer has not seen the movie. That is far from true, every designer has to keep watching the movie over and over if they are designing a set, next to looking at studio models and reference images. If you've seen the designer video Jamie (right?) actually says something like: I have not seen all star wars movies. With that, he means that he has not seen one or two of the prequels. Designers and TLG are always doing very good on sourcing information and watching stuff from licenced themes. I spoke to a designer some years ago, and they almost watch the movies and references more than they build with actual bricks. Also, most of those I had spoken were Star Wars fans, but at least have some feeling for SW or are Sci-fi fans. There are enough people that want to work at lego, so I am sure TLG will choose the most fitting ones, those with feeling for bricks and the francise! I actually noticed that every set designer is very passionate about their themes. About the set choice - I don't know how that is done nowadays. I remember when talking to designers for a few years they actually liked to get input from fans and children, they actually really listened carefully! It came to the point that I made a list of sets with descriptions I liked to see, which I handed in to them - and what do you know? A year later I saw quite some of those on the shelfs, exactly as I said how I would like them! For the rest - they get most input from the licence holders, first by a lucasfilm department, they send some list of vehicles that are upcoming/are popular/they want to see, and the design team decides which they will make. Now disney, actually still lucasfilm, gives them input. Also, I think the marketing department says what's wise to choose to make a set for.
  7. Outstanding review Oky Brickman!
  8. Oh yes, TLG has actually confirmed the force ghost will be in the next version of UCS cloud city, along with gold chrome C-3PO and Admiral Thrawn...
  9. I will not participate this episode, because sadly, my character lost his heirloom (Well actually I have not enough time anymore to complete my past scene... so I will post my present scene in a freebuild sometime soon )
  10. Good review! I still have to pick this set up, it looks quite nice. One question: Would you recommend picking up multiples of this set? And I agree with MKJoshA, a solid backdrop will be more pleasant to look at, and at least you could take the modeltrain stuff away next time you're making a review
  11. Ah yes, I also forgot about that one. Though it is questionable if that can be labeled as true CW as the AT-OT didn't even appear in any season, but did in RotS. The only Clone Warsy about the set were the minifigs, but considering they did not have any EPII/III clone designs back then which would not force them to redesign a minifig it makes sense for including those figs.
  12. I have to say I'm quite exited for the summer sets that we know of, especially the tyderium shuttle. Can't wait to build it!
  13. 1. The ARC170 pilot does appear in just one small shot in RotS, of what I can find. I believe he's not officiallly named but he does have an unique helmet that no other clone pilot has I believe. view here The snowspeeder pilot is a named character that does appear uniquely in ESB, but his helmet on the other side is common enough to use for unnamed characters. 2. I'm afraid Tariq j is incorrect; the scout clone troopers were seen, but the generic uniformed with camo troopers were not seen in RotS. I don't know if they do canocally exist, they may control the vehicles, but are not seen in the fight outside. (The trooper Yoda killed besides gree was actually a scout one)
  14. I liked it already when you had first posted it, your improvements made it even better! well done, great design, both on the arena and beasts
  15. Strange that this has not yet been posted. Pictures of mini AT-DP http://brickset.com/sets/30274-1/AT-DP I think that's clever use of the ball joints in the turret.
  16. I have this too with my eeth koth, luckily my agen colar does not suffer the same problem. But in my case it seems to be dust rather than age, i removed it with water/paint brush and it looks fine last time I checked.
  17. I don't think what that magazine is saying is true. They probalbly needed filler space to give an example of a good collectable, read some forums, rumours... And considered a new UCS Falcon true. How would a magazine like that possibly find it out earlier than we all AFOLs that are searching the web thoroughly every day? - Or, why would TLG expose a new release to a magazine that almost no AFOL reads? If they would be so sure, they would have listed a real source, like a web-site or interview, instead only using the vague therm "specialists", which does almost never seems reliable on its own. - For all we know it could be just some ten year olds discussing it on the Lego site
  18. Thanks Bob! now the deadline is only next year, loads of time!
  19. Thanks! That's what I thought too. But also SNOTted wings like they did in the UCS lambda-class shuttle costs a LOT of parts too. The site is usually a little high on exclusives earlier in the year, so price could also be €200. But it does make a bit of sense having it on the same price point as the X-wing. I wonder what kind, if any, of exclusive figures TLG will put in the set to force us to buy it And, I think that Helicarrier is sort of confirmed. Brickset has it listed, already with a set number and price point.
  20. I've found the name of a new set for 2015: 30272 A-wing Starfighter; It's a polybag, but I can't find an image. Source: http://www.speelgoed...starfighter-ibI think it's quite reliable, it's a shop I sometimes visit, they also list the AT-DP polybag. EDIT: They also list a TIE Fighter!!! 75095, for 225€, that's going to be a hell of a big TIE! It's listed for august 2015. I think that confirms it's a normal TIE. Source: http://www.speelgoednl.nl/lego-75095-exclusives-tie-fighter
  21. I don't know what I like more; The pun or the ship Good build Bob!
  22. O you do have to? Well, didn't see that one coming. Guess I will go for the minifig on a plate then, literally! Moving the deadline works fine for me then, thanks. Then we're at about 5 out of 7 episodes with a deadline moved, well I guess that's SoNE's policy then
  23. In the Netherlands, "Sinterklaas", or Saint Nicholas came by again. Got this year's Jedi Interceptor (yellow) and a Vulture Droid. Actually these are not that great sets, the Interceptor is a rehashed design, which is good, but it was not that special, but the Vulture Droid was just bleh. Too oversized, strange playability (what? pilot?) and not that great looking either. But I wanted to own them either way, they have still got good bits so I'm happy :) Also, couldn't leave 30244 Jedi Interceptor polybag sitting on the shelf for €3, so got that one too.
  24. One question: Is it also possible to do just one of the two builds? I may have problems with my availeble time so I am not sure if I would be able to make two.
