  1. Thanks! Well you have to imagine the dirt since its such pain in the a** to clean...:P Happy you like it! :) The LBG wheels I bought directly from Lego and BL, its part of a Star Wars set if i'm not mistaken. The tan tubes is also from an old Star Wars set, an technic set infact. :) Regarding the engine - studless technic at the bottom -> studded technic bricks -> system parts. :)
  2. Here is my latest build, a classic Scrambler. Since I took Triumph Scrambler for a test drive earlier this year I know its my next bike - but until I manage to save up for it - this model will have to do - hope you like it! Pay attention to detail - :) You can find all the pics on my Flickr: https://www.flickr.c.../107288644@N07/
  3. As a bike lover and rider myself I do appreciate it even if it clearly has some drawbacks and lacks features. I will certainly buy one if not two just for the panels. I also think Lego could have done something more interesting, not using the more or less same swing arm as in the 8051.. And as someone else pointed out, why don't use the DBG or PG wheels to create a more living color scheme (maybe not combined with the LB-panels but you get my drift) One thing I like though is that its lines flows better, much better than on the 8051 (which I although like), yes its a bit wide around the belly but that should be an fairly easy fix. The one thing that really disappoints me is why we cannot get the a new wider rear wheel, or just use the old mold from the 8420...that for sure would be nice.
  4. Very nice moc indeed! I really like the flex-cable steering! :)
  5. You captured the lines really well, good job! :)
  6. That is a real pity...was hoping for a new set of rims and tires, or just use the old mold from 8420..
  7. Im really interested in the Street bike 42036 (no shit.. ) and the Long Distance Race Car!! Can we please have some new wheel designs for the bike - me needs them for mocing..
  8. Thanks guys! :) Sorry for the delayed response but I've been away from home for quite some time. I will try to get take some pictures in the beginning of next week! :)
  9. Hm, that sound kinda interesting, but the pricetags (if that are what the numbers represent) does scare me a bit, I want larger models! :D
  10. Indeed they are - and moonshine dragster aswell, (at least the ones running on alcohol) :)
  11. Thank you guys for your kind words, and especially the compliments on the frame-work - it took me some time to get it sturdy enough! :)
  12. Hello and welcome to the forum! I really like the handle for the boot - would have done the same if i had one more minfig-skate.. :) Also like the changed taillights - i made a similar mod that I posted a couple of days ago. However - since I consider myself a purist, the cutting of pieces, custom paintwork (and glueing?) does not get my up-vote. But the good thing is that everyone is free to do as they please! :) Happy building!
  13. Something different. In the middle of June I was at a Drag racing contest close to where I live. At this competition there were a few front engine dragster, built like in the old days, where the driver sits right on top the final drive..:D The ones that in the 60:s-70:s were running on alcohol got the nickname "Moonshine Dragsters" This is my attempt to recreate one of those old school dragsters. The biggest challenge was to be able to create something that looked like a tubular frame. I admit that it is a bit fragile, but on the other hand not as fragile as you might think. Anyway - I can live with that since my creations are made for display and not meant to play with. I long tried to implement steering but it always ended up to bulky and heavy. So I settled to get the looks right and ditch it. Instead i focused more on the details to make it as real looking as possible. I hope I came fairly close. Cheers! If you like motorcycles you can see my other mocs on my Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/107288644@N07/
  14. Thank you for your kind comments, glad you like the changes! :)
  15. Hi there! Like many others I ordered the Mini as soon as it was available. It is a great piece of kit, since I´m very fond the BRG-color I was really happy when it was presented. I think the designer has done a really good job overall - considering the limitations of Lego. It has some drawbacks though; The rear end just doesn't look right, the angles are a bit off. The engine bay is nothing but horrible, the lack of detail is just - well bad. Therefor I've made some customization's, to get it a bit more like I want it. I've tried to get the rear end to look more like the original car, I've changed the tail lights since they were completely off. I have to admit thought I'm not 100% satisfied, but at least i think its better than out-of-the-box. The tailpipe is relocated and enlarged a bit to get the car a little more attitude when seen from behind. I've also moved the fog light since I made it left hand drive - the main reason for this was because i wanted to be able to fit the steering-servo, with reservoir inside the engine bay. And this was not doable due to the air-intake hose. I've redone the front grille to get some more space for the engine-components, but I hope it doesn't show to much from the outside. I fitted some extra lights, (rally-style) and put some covers on them. And yes I've changed to "Mini-lites" to golden ones, this may not be liked by some - but I think the contrast lifts the BRG-color even more. I've also moved the wheels out 1/2 stud to better fill the wheel arches. Well I think that's is whats done to the outside, lets talk a bout the engine bay: New engine block Side mounted radiator, with hose and thermostat Air intake hose, plenum and injection New spark plug cables Steering servo with reservoir Washer fluid reservoir Fuse box Exhaust manifold, (although It cannot be seen in the picture, but it is there) In addition to changing the front grille, I've also made the hood thinner to get enough space for the redesigned engine bay. Well - enough talking, here are the pictures - hope you like them! Cheers!
  16. You sir are absolutely correct, my mistake...*feeling a bit ashamed*
  17. Great review! I got mine yesterday and assembled it straight away. I found the build to be quite fun. The model itself is very good-looking out of the box. But there is still room for improvement - especially the engine bay. That process is soon to be completed. :) Except that my set was missing 4 dkgreen bricks with a stud on the side, there is only one letdown - the color-deviation of the "standard" dkgreen bricks versus the "special" ones like mentioned above...:/
  18. First of all, It makes me happy to see a fellow motorcycle builder here on EB! A very, very good looking bike! I really like the proportions, details and the colors you used! :) The front forks, frame, engine and exhaust-system is really good! The only thing that I dont really dig is the taillight, I would like a smaller one in the center - but hey, thats just a matter of taste! Good work!! :D
  19. That is a truely an excellent little model! I really dig the color-scheme. :)
  20. Very good shape you managed to created there!
  21. When I first joined this forum a couple of years ago I struggled a bit where to put my models/creations. I would define them more as MT than Technic. But even so they maybe could fall into the Creator category aswell. Just for example: There has been a fair bit of defining going on in this thread during the day, and also some really good suggestions on how to separate/pair the categories - forum-wise, The below arguments are the essence for me. Highly detailed, realistic vehicles Larger than minifig scale Some basic/a few technic functions There are a coplue of released Lego-sets that could be placed in both MT and Creator, and some that would'nt fit in either category. I would say that there are many, many mocs around (just take a look at Mocpages, Flickr, The Brothers-Brick or THe Lego Car Blog) that would fit this category though. Even so, you dont see very many on this forum - the question is why? I think Jim has raised a very important question with his take on the Model Teams, to be or not to be in the Technic forum. I do think we need a separate forum for creations like I've mentioned above, because now they disappear in the present categories; This forum and the Technic Special Forum, sub - creator. (I never understood this subforum at all to be honest) Personally I think Eurobricks would benefit with a Creator Vehicle/Model Team - forum.
  22. Thank you all för your nice words! :) All comments, critic and thoughts are more than welcome!
