  1. Such a tease..... Can't wait to see the whole thing!
  2. Wow SK, I agree with you--this one is your best house yet. The roof, chimney, and especially the half-stud offset of the walls are spectacular.
  3. The trans tiles look great.
  4. Great way to re-enter the fray! The mostly demolished building looks excellent, though the tree looks kind of funky with the wide trunk and skinny branches.
  5. Gee-wiz, I only went AWOL for a couple weeks and there's all these new tags (thanks Ecc!), a new prelude (woohoo!), and a whole bunch of epic Mount Up! builds (sad that I didn't get mine done...). After I get caught up around here, I'm hoping to zip through some of the AoM first stages this week.
  6. Didn't you flower-power folks ( ) run a postcards from Avalonia mini-challenge or something a while back?
  7. Sweet MOC! It's got a great 1980s-1990s LEGO vibe to it that I appreciate. Also, those flowers on the backside are insane. Agreed. Classic-Castle used to run a 32x32 castle challenge back when I was still lurking that was really fun to watch. I hope they bring it back at some point.
  8. I really like how you continued the 1x2 brick + 1x1 cylinder from the round tower into the straight wall section. It gives a nice solidarity to the overall impression.
  9. I like the roof, the gold detailing, and the little potted plants; however, I agree that the door could use some contrast with the rest of the building.
  10. Oh man, this is incredible. The shaping you achieved with plates is phenomenal.
  11. Ah, excellent! Axe throwing makes so much sense for Mitgardians. Looking forward to future phases!
  12. Amazing landscape study SK. I find grass really hard to do. This looks absolutely fantastic
  13. Yes, very interested, thanks man!
  14. Wow! That house is amazing. I really like the windows here, going the extra mile with the drapes is just icing on the cake.
  15. Lots of cool stuff here. Love the interior details and the combination of the sand orange and olive green works well. I'm not sold on the porthole windows though.
  16. Gunman and SK, you guys are really throwing out some awesome stuff! I'm hoping I can knock out my Mount Up! build this weekend....
  17. I have an EasyShare myself. Absolutely nothing wrong with it for LEGOs! The keys (for me) are: tripod - seriously, go buy a decent one if you don't have one lighting - minimum of 3 lights in my experience, make sure they are "daylight" bulbs macro - "flower power" is a very useful thing to have GIMP/Photoshop - GIMP is FREE and works just fine, it's what I use, though with proper use of the three above you can produce pictures that don't need help I used my EasyShare for this MOC, and didn't have to edit for color, shadows or other oopses. I only hit the pics with GIMP to resize. If you're taking pictures of sports or fighter jets (airshows are awesome...), then yeah, you need a big honking camera with a few lenses.
  18. Superb detailing everywhere in this build. The stonework and the mosaic part of the structure is particularly awesome.
  19. Love the tomato plants, and that barbed wire definitely ought to keep those pesky deer out!
  20. Excellent conclusion to the series mccoyed.
  21. Jeez, I really need to get building again.... I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about the dark orange posts, they add a lot here. Where does that torso come from?
  22. I think the brick portion looks great, almost like it was actually built with bricks + a few stones thrown in here and there.
  23. I've seen and used the turntable bases for windows before, but this is the first time I've seen them used like that and it works very well! It's also nice to see Mitgardia in the summer every now and then. (Though, the triple digit temperatures here in Texas this week have most of us hibernating indoors )
  24. Epic MOC SK! That's one of the nicest Tudor buildings I've seen in a long time, and the interior is fantastic too! I just wish there were a couple things hanging on the walls inside the second story.
  25. This is great, those saws are awesome--the "real" saw pieces are a bit cartoon-y and your brick-built solution is a great substitution. And the waterwheel is just plain crazy! hehe - where's the blood?
