Yes, and the T-rex which I don't own! Also the hotdog guy, which is a great ridiculous combo. I want more CMF animals and more Atlantis hammerheads!

Thank you both! -
Very nice, the string release is good too. I think I only need that clutch piece to build this!

Aw, we used the same pig/head combo... Nice figs, I like the animal theme.

Commander Turtle checking in! Thanks for posting this and for a good month's building by mail!

[SPC] Cat A - Six from the Ragged Tiger

That's a nice collection, I really like how the Itchy body works with the Chima head to make a pirate-bird. (But birds don't have belly buttons!) I think that's the standout fig from this set so it works well that it's also the most attention-grabbing! -
What great robots! Is the flipper done with Lego spring pieces, or something else? I'd be really interested to see a breakdown of that weapon.
-
I really like the sail idea. I hope you take another photo though - you really want to get a bit lower and more side-on with that boat, otherwise it could be mistaken for just being a regular cockpit!
-
For Cat B, should we have a 800x600 pic that includes both, or two pictures? We have two decently sized builds, I worry that we're going to lose a lot of detail by squishing them down too much.

Cheers for the feedback, glad you liked it. I made an effort to keep the weapons reasonable, I had to be selective or else I would have made mega-weapons more fitting for a ship's turret! -
If this was third, I want to see the first two! It's a really great building, good work.

I like the way you take the parts of sets you like but modify every single one somehow. Do you have any photos of the real ones you have made in bricks?

I like how the bottom is built upside-down, it looks like it gave you some options that you've used really well. I like the cannon-holes in particular.

Thanks a lot everyone! That's definitely something I'd like to answer! I'll get back to you in a few months haha. Definitely a bit rusty and worn down, could be a very interesting build. -
[SPC] Cat A - The Unstoppable Five and Copper the Dog
Commander Turtle posted a topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Presenting the Unstoppable Five and Copper the Dog! They travel the galaxy fighting for crime. Mostly they commit insurance fraud, but sometimes they take on assassinations and ship invasions to spice it up a bit. Jane was once a normal girl, but a horrific accident deformed her forever, stretching out her limbs and leaving her head in tatters. While cyborg surgery has helped her reclaim her independence, four long years in the care of an abusive doctor left her traumatised forever. So remember kids, don't run with scissors! Faith is the mechanic, which is useful as she can keep her robotic arm in good shape. She is not an elf, she just has big ears! Elves definitely don't exist! Animals just perch in her hair because she's polite! Hamson is The Muscle. If you're her target, she will make you mincemeat. Famed assassin Captain Samy has white skin because she spends all her time indoors, practising how to kill people. Copper was once a faithful dog, but over time her failing bodyparts were replaced with metal until it became hard to see the dog underneath. Vlad is the ship's medic. His surgery is called the Burn Unit. And that's the team! I tried to keep it a little bit nuts, it's more fun that way. I had the combination for Captain Samy a while ago and thought it was a good elegant design for a sci-fi character with a bit of Asian influence. Then this contest rolled around and it seemed only fair to complete her team. Also, it was a nice opportunity to mix minifigs with a minidoll - not something you can do every day! -

I like your parrot a lot! Is that your own paint work? Also the Handyman is inspired :) -
FWIW my building partner and I will definitely be entering Cat B, so it won't be a no-show event!
-
NICE! That's really great. Make sure you've got one really perfect shot for your main entry pic, since that's all the voters will see :)

Cool theme. Space pirate here checking in, seeking a classic pirate builder for category B!
-
I get the impression Dave is busy but still moving it along. It won't take too many turns to get it at least looking finished enough, the problem is that builders might not see the message for the 3 days which can cause the delays as we wait for them.

Wow, what a monster! Any bigger and I'd be able to sail it myself! Great work, and a lot of dedication has clearly gone into it. -
