  1. Piterx means complexity such as Sheepo's MOC's, not like how Lego incorporates it. I personally feel that if used in the correct way, Power Functions can add a new level of complexity to a model. However I do think that when Lego try and get you to motorise a model in a way like the 9395 pick up truck, it becomes silly and unnecessary. So there's a balance
  2. Use the hulls, Lego isn't designed to float except for the hulls so unless you want to damage your expensive motors, you need to use the hulls. Just saying Also, Sariel has built quite a few boats http://sariel.pl/category/marinevessels/
  3. Nice vehicle when will the video of the race be out, do you know?
  4. Nice work I like how you got around the problem of not having NXT by building an app for your phone, very imaginative! May I ask, how did you build it?
  5. Not sure whether any outrigger design like the one you described would be able to lift 3-4kg....
  6. Great work thus far The scale is really impressive as I've probably already said... wish i had the parts to build a boat as beautiful as this
  7. As a purist myself, the limits of the standard battery box do annoy me, so I'm intrigued by this solution, and may just give it a go thanks for sharing Sariel
  8. I'd much prefer to use RC buggy motors, but I unfortunately don't have any and the pieces just went like that I suppose, it's the normal front independent suspension setup Thanks for the kind words I suppose it looks a bit like the blue off roader (8435) as I got the blue pieces, front suspension, and wheels all from that set
  9. yes I did kind of get inspiration from that set http://www.tuningfever.fr/pics-max-13307-264922-2006-hummer-h3-dakar-rally-raid-truck.jpg This is in that search, along with many like it but yeah you are right, naming my creations isn't my forte especially when I haven't really based them on anything
  10. 2 reasons: Weight Parts - This is basically all the blue parts I have
  11. Hello guys I present to you my latest MOC, a dakar rally truck. Dakar Rally Truck by legomuppet9, on Flickr Basically I made a quick chassis with full suspension, and then added a very simple and light-weight body to it. There's an XL motor geared up 3:1 and then an M Motor powering return-to-center steering. It has front independent suspension and rear I have-no-clue-what-it's-called suspension (please tell me, it'd be greatly appreciated ) Speed and performance is good, it has just enough torque to get up to speed, so as it doesn't have a differential, it does lose speed in the corners, but this isn't really much of an issue. Dakar Rally Truck by legomuppet9, on Flickr Dakar Rally Truck by legomuppet9, on Flickr I know this is a very simple MOC, I think I'm going to try a slightly more complex one for my next MOC, probably a construction vehicle. suggestions are welcome
  12. Great work, your changes have really improved the model
  13. Couldn't you use these wheels?
  14. And what functions will it have? That's the whole point of Technic IMO
  15. I'm south England, so that wouldn't work unfortunately
  16. Same with Britain. There doesn't seem to be many people, if any, building TT's here...
  17. but sometimes you may miss time it by a few seconds, which is where this could be useful, and as piterx said, it does look cool nice one effe
  18. Ok.. I really need some buggy motors that things performance is awesome
  19. Thanks Jon twentyleggedhen: The M Motor is in alignment, I think it's just the angle
