  1. I only just started this, many improvement to come.
  2. I used most of my A-model parts now so I think it is nearly done.
  3. I have made some progress with the fire truck. It is still a WIP and I still have 40% of the A model parts unused. The hoses point in the same direction when the boom is raised. They move together using a lever on the roof.
  4. Still very slowly gathering support. It is on target to hit 1000 and get a 6 month extension but thats all. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/110466
  5. I think I have found the B model; Airport fire truck with HOG steering and directional hoses. It is quite small at 13x15x33 so I will try to make it larger if I have enough parts left.
  6. ^That helicopter was about 30000cs and I couldn't make a good rotor blade. I tried a vertical take off plane but it is already 13000cs so the search continues.
  7. Trial truck with 4 wheels steering, pendular suspension using flexi axels as leaf springs.
  8. I started building an ambulance but it turned in Ecto1 and then a Cadillac convertable. It has also been a fire engine and a trophy truck today.
  9. The trailer could use a winch for sure, not sure about slipping a turntable in though. Ideas for B model...
  10. Everything I want to build for the B has something important missing. A turntable and string would have been nice.
  11. I finished the A model... ...then I built a copy... ...then I took one apart to see what I have to work with.
  12. 30332 is another cool part I've not seen before. It is too big unless I can lower the ratchet by 2 studs and I can't see a way to do that in a model this small.
  13. That works quite well with a friction pin but is it too small? The 2740 part is brilliant but way too big for my TC9. The diameter looks about 16 or 17 studs, I must get a couple for future MOCs.
  14. Wow! Thank you. The porp had to have a diameter of just less than 7 studs and be as heavy as possible (to maintain momentum) this is V4 and the one that works best with the ratchet engine. Do lego do a one-piece prop that would work?
  15. I'm going to do that too. I have a few areas to tweek, then I'll make a LDD file (so I can rebuild it if needed). I will take it all apart to see what I've got for the B model. There are lots of red and white parts so I could try for a fire truck (or plane).
  16. Before 42009, MISB 8421 could sell for £600 but not anymore. MISB 41999 and MISB 8043 are both about £300.
  17. The plane has folding wings, retractable landing wheels and a ratchet (human power functions) to spin the prop.
  18. The plane and trailer are nearly done. I changed the colours as I may try a fire truck for the B model.
  19. I got 42040, it came direct from Lego in Billund. Thank you Jim and Lego. I wonder if Dav' got a 42042.
  20. Fantastic! Surely this deserves a place in the TechnicHall of Fame.
  21. No, 16L for roof. I have 2 black 19L but they are too long.
  22. I've got it looking much more grown up and looking more like an SUV. HOG steering is the only function so far.
  23. Great choice. Loads of functions and hardly any wasted volume. I wonder if these will be the biggest wheels in TC9.
  24. This is the "concept" version. The style and colours are not fixed yet. ...but the plane is not fiinshed yet. It has all the bodywork, canopy, seats and 2 more "tricks" up it sleeve still to be done.
