  1. Not sure. There are more stickers on the blue one but the white/green car is almost all white without the stickers.
  2. You can get the parts list and LXF from rebrickable now. http://rebrickable.c...-lancia-stratos Stick around the forum, add a few comments or post a MOC of your own, you'll soon be able to send me a PM for the sticker jpeg.
  3. The shape is spot on but its all the little details that really amaze me. Fantastic model.
  4. I love the way the trailer is deployed, its like a transformer. Great use of micro motors, I wish we had a modern equivalent.
  5. Thank you all for this amazing response, I though you would all have been bored with this after the 2 month WIP topic. I can't get on rebrickable so Rishab N has kindly agreed to upload it for me. Shame though, my favorite part is the 4 speed gearbox and that is not in the LDD file. I will have to do an update.
  6. Here is my first supercar MOC, a 1:8 scale model of the famous Lancia Stratos rally car. It comes in two flavors; Alitalia (tutti fruitti) livery and (for those willing to part-out 8x 42045) the +1 Racing version entered in the Elba rally of 1977. It features: Opening doors and front and rear clamshells 4 wheel independent suspension (which is very similar to 42039). HOG steering that is removable and connected to the wheel in the cockpit (see youtube clip) Pop-up headlights and removable auxiliary Lamps. A 4-Speed gearbox that sits under the transverse V6 and has a remote linkage to the gear stick in the cockpit. Here is a flickr video of the linkage being tested. and the gearbox working in the chassis. Many more photos on my flickr page along with some pictures of a failed attempt at an all blue version (Blue Stratos). +1 Racing 08 by James Tillson, on Flickr Here is a video of the original 2 speed version. The LDD file of this version now on rebrickable http://rebrickable.c...-lancia-stratos (Thank you Rishab N). A jpeg of the stickers is also available, just send me a PM with your email.
  7. I think the yellow Volvo wheels are a very good match for the Stratos wheels but I will put 8461 wheels on the back soon to get this look; Wide Silver Back Wheels by James Tillson, on Flickr Thanks. It is really fun to use and has a better action than a Peugeot I once owned.
  8. I have the 4-speed in the chassis. It works very well. I did the test with a constant wheel speed to show the engine with high revs in 1st through to very low revs in 4th. I then tried to get 2 gears at the same time but couldn't.
  9. Maybe I'm not finished with Stratos yet... 4 speed remote link V2.1 by James Tillson, on Flickr There is a gate inside to stop 2 gears being selected at the same time.
  10. LDD file and sticker jpeg are now available (£7). I had to do many redesigns to make all the connections "legal" in LDD. It is now easier to build, uses fewer parts, has a smoother mechanism for the lights (but looks exactly the same). It still doesn't have the right wheels as LDD doesn't have the big tyre from 42000. The #21 and #22 panels that should go above the rear wheel arches are "illegal" in LDD even though there is clear daylight between the parts in real life. 50+ hours on LDD well spent then... Final version is 1.7Kg and has 1730 parts (including 95 panels) I was going to build a blue version with a 4 speed but I'm ready to start something new now.
  11. Help. Anybody know how to get the big 56907 tyre (from 42000) on LDD? If not, can I import the file in to another CAD and then add the tyres?
  12. LDD build was going very well. The new version has lots more parts and is easier to use BUT I just found out that there is no 56907 in LDD. Can the tyre file be imported?
  13. ^Yes, I like that. I would have to do the rear arches too. I will be able to make any I like soon... lego 480 by James Tillson, on Flickr
  14. I decided that its not finished yet as I would like to see if I can get a 4 speed gearbox under the engine instead of the simple 2 speed it has now. I made a video anyway.
  15. Its all done! I will make a video tonight and probably start a [MOC] topic too. Loads more pictures on my Flickr. Stratos 01 by James Tillson, on Flickr Stratos Stickers V1 by James Tillson, on Flickr
  16. Technic carousel. Carousel 1 by James Tillson, on Flickr http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=104863
  17. I've added stickers and lots of green parts. More green parts are on the way. lego 472 by James Tillson, on Flickr
  18. I may build another body in red. Shame about the green arches by James Tillson, on Flickr
  19. I can make stickers but it would be nice to get as close to this (image below) as possible by changing a few parts to red or green. I really wish the 18944 arches came in white, red or black (instead of green, blue and purple).
  20. ...I know. I spent over a month engineering this now I can't decide what colour it should be.
  21. Engine, gearbox, steering and pop up lights are all done and I'm very happy with the shape. I just need to sort out a few details like; Which looks best OR ?
  22. bodywork is finished. Time to take it all off and sort out the engine, gearbox and connect the steering to HOG. Link to flickr video of pop up lights.
  23. Don't worry about starting again, this gets better every new evolution. Based on 10.2 stud wheels, (I think) your wheelbase should be 41 studs with a total width of 24. Top of the roll bar should be 20 studs from the ground. What dimensions does it have now?
  24. Thank you all for your encouragement. I really am enjoying this build. I have got the front looking something like it should, maybe a bit too pointy. There is still room for pop up lights. The rear scales perfectly from the blue print but looks too wide and square.
  25. I learned today that even a lego car gets lower when you add weight (bodywork in this case), I guess everybody knew that already. The whole front subframe needs to moved the bring the nose back to where it should be.
