Skirmisher, Level 15! I hadn't developed a character around him yet.
-
The Lion Knight? What was there to explain? He just would have helped out!
-
Cool article, Legonator (and Etzel).

They can be if Sandy would like them to be! Hey now, he's been relatively sober his last few quests. I didn't say which side Boomingham would side with. Oh, it's most certainly pretty much the perfect quest for him. He LOVES nobles, riches, drinks AND parties!!! Was that Spirit Robe approved, Masked? It is essentially a 1/6 chance of assassination, because petrifying an enemy is the same as assassinating them, really. Seems a bit strong... but again, maybe its just me...

I've signed up for 66! Glad to see Andrew and Bert show back up. Maybe they'll appear in some other quests too! There were a few more town guard who might have popped up if you'd visited the Glass Blowers.

OoC: Sandy Boomingham is happy to see that Hoke followed him to visit Nyx. He accepts the Plaything reluctantly, holding it in his hands. "Not much of anything, is it? Just some squishy darkness. I'd be careful with it if I were you." He returns the plaything to Hoke. A quiet echo whispers in Boomingham's ear. He swats at Barty. "That wasn't me!" cries the Angel unhappily, staring down the plaything. "Don't trust that thing, Hoke. Those who use evil to do good are still evil." Boomingham pats Nyx on the back kindly. "Ah, you got yourself bit by the love bug, huh? It's a little itchy, isn't it? Bit uncomfortable, bit fiery? My wife- she's a fiery one too, very willful. Bit tough to handle at times, but that's part of the fun, isn't it." Boomingham looks Nyx in the eyes carefully. His words stop slurring and his gaze is intensive. "You'll handle yourself, Nyx. Life is fleeting, so is time. Love is tangible. You have to seize it, and you have to do it now. Feel how you feel, do what you do." Boomingham then downs his Flaming Gumball and his eyes glaze over a little. "I've already signed up for the Quest. I've got to see that lovely Patricia again."
-
"It's all silliness," Boomingham repeats to himself once or twice thoughtfully. "Isn't that the way of it. You're quite a poet, my dear." "As for my deeds since last we met... hm, I've helped return a cloak, and helped track down a frog. Don't mean to brag or anything," he says laughing hardily. "What about you? Burning down evil?"
-
Boomingham blushes - a rare sight. "Two flaming gumballs!" he cries over to the bar. Little Barty hovers over Nyx's head reassuringly. "Well now, Mlle. Nyx, if you'd greeted me that way first time around we may have hit it off back then instead of waiting until we had to schlep across the desert together." Boomingham nods with a huge grin at Nerwen and Haldor. "Seems like you've been through quite a bit. Who must I slay to make things right? Hopefully no one in the Hall. That could get bloody, though I'm sure the two of us could take them." Boomingham winks, but his smile slips a little as he sees the tears hovering at the edge of her lashes.

I'll win her over. I don't know what side I'd side with, but I have a suspicion. I won't say now, though. Why spoil the surprise!

Everyone is biting at the bit for this Steerpike Quest. Very exciting.

Boomingham's eyes light up at Skrall's answer. "Festivities?! You'll all have to excuse me!" Boomingham plops off his stool waddles over to the Quest Board. He quickly peruses the quests. With a grin, he signs up for Quest 66. "A party. Can't say no to a party. I used to throw the grandest balls when I was King," he mutters to himself. Barty zips in the door and dumps a huge number of scrolls into Boomingham's hand. "What is this?" "I changed the shopping list just a little bit. You'll thank me. These will be useful." Boomingham growls at the little pest, but Barty waggles a finger and suddenly lowers his voice. "Lawrence, have you talked to Nyx yet?" "Nyx is here?! Haven't seen her." The little angel points over at Nyx, slouched sadly in a corner next to Nerwen and Haldor. With a swing in his step, Boomingham makes his way over. "Howdy there, little lady. Mind if an old King buys you a drink? All I ask in return is a little kiss on the cheek."

The build seems kind of sci-fi to me, but that certainly doesn't bother me! The Smaug is inventive. Just because you can't build it well doesn't mean you can't build it well - excellent example of this concept.
-
Super smart, would never have figured it out if it weren't for the comment, very cool MOC and concept!!

I agree that it shouldn't have taken a month. Or even a week. Just was hoping for more than three rounds with all of them at perfect health at the end. Maybe its just me.
-
It was three rounds. Should have been harder. They like strategizing and battles, that's why they're in the fields!

Boomingham balks as Nur spits out the wine. He turns to the Ogre. "Gods and goddesses. Bah. Just a bunch of crazy folks if you ask me. My last quest was tracking down a Frog. You know, the heroics sometimes seem rather meager around here. Looks like you at least did some good." "I haven't given much thought to my next adventure. What are you considering, Ogre?" Boomingham turns when Hoke arrives and greets him happily. He indicates a stool hoping the warrior would sit. "Hoke! How are you? Has great big Olegia been treating you right?"
-
I'll give my notes in general on the Regret and 48 when its all done. That threshold monster was too easy. Heroes are very strong. This is why we need to build what appear to be insane battles to be considered challenging. Not every battle should be challenging, but those that should be... we need to go overboard on, now. Perhaps I'll ask a few QMs to throw together a monster creation guide, I know WBD often offers good tips, and since I'm done with my most recent quest but don't quite have the time for the NPC Index yet (I know, its dismal, I'll try to catch up soon) it would be a nice easy project. Jebs, you've got one memory in that head of yours. I commend you!
-
Yeah, Phil winning his battle was quite a twist! Poletad too was just a prop I threw in, and Skrall took him and make him a character.
-
Boomingham looks Skrall up and down cooly, but accepts the drink and raises it in a meager toast to his ally. "You can nearly always interest me in a drink. How has the world been treating you, Ogre?"
-
WBD, rereading Quest 28. I love it. I'm requesting personally that you put Natnail into a quest that I'm on at some point.
-
"Oh yes? I ran into your friendos, the Wolfgang on my last quest. Can't say that I was too taken with them last time, but this time around the chap seemed decent enough. They pulled the hood over my eyes last time, I'll give them that. We never did track down Natnail either..." Boomingham claps the mage on the back all of a sudden. A huge smile breaks over his face. "I'll tell you Nur, I thought you were going to go all Mr. Marvelo on me and I'd never see you again. Pleased to have you back, because, as you know I know, you can never trust a mage. What else has your medetation led you to? Are you ready to head out with us once more? Onwards and upwards?"
-
Boomingham laughs at or with his old traveling partner. "Coin purse run dry? Certainly you can find someone to extort. I'll let you borrow a bit of gold if you give me that dagger at your side for collateral. Same deal you offered me back when we were dealing with the Bluehood." Boomingham chortles again.
-
Barty opens up Boomingham's bag of gold and pulls out a shopping list. He squints at it. "Well, look at something else Boomingham can't do. This shopping list is horrendous." Barty drops the list and it disappears in a flash of light. He zips over to Portia's stall and drops off 2 potions (+4 gold), 1 grand potion (+5 gold), and 2 deadly venoms (+50 gold). Barty then makes his way to Elphaba's cart, his head upturned. "Have to do what you have to do," he says. He drops 300 gold on the counter and picks up 2 scrolls of weakening, 1 scroll of fragility, one scroll of sleep, one scroll of blindness, and one scroll of sleep. "Let's see if he doesn't mind doing some reading." (284+4+5+50+20-300=63 gold)

I'll see what Flipz has to say. I'm sure he'd prefer that we go through all the confusing gold stuff, and I personally would enjoy it too. Though with him giving NUR gold (rich little bugger) maybe he'll just clear my debt.
-
Boomingham nods as Nur approaches. He hasn't seen the rogue for a long time. Over his shoulder he sees Sorrow, and his mind races. He turns to Barty. "Do me a favor, would you?" "What?" "Can you carry gold? Swords?" "I am an Angel. I have a few tricks up my sleeves." Boomingham tosses his grubby bag of gold, a few venoms and potions, and his swords to the Angel. The items seem to be swallowed into thin air. "Now, get out of here. Don't let him see you." "Are you learning to not trust the heathens?" "Nur is absolutely my friend. Doesn't mean I trust him." Barty darts out of the Hall to go shopping. "Hello, Nur! How are you?!"
