Atramor, you may want to tag along with the next Russel Quest.

"I'd very much appreciate it, yes. Leave no man behind unless you can't afford to carry them, and in this case, we can. You right, however, we need to wait for another round, we should be attacking this one."

Oh, I mean good ol' fashion rats. It's the final stage of planning for this Russel Quest.
-
Other than Quest 2 and Quest 57, what quests did heroes fight rats that y'all can remember?
-
I'd love to be there for your first attempt at hosting! Depends on when in May you host it, Sandy quests have been both notoriously short and notoriously long in recent months.

That's some lovely autorolling. Boomingham takes a break from his intensive battle to survey the field. Haman is battered, but Boomingham notices out of the corner of his eye that Riley has been downed. The former King raises his shield as a precaution before turning his head to the Undead. "Sorrow, I'd consider it a personal favor if you'd get the bat-boy on our side off of the ground. You've got more than enough gold to buy a replacement Phoenix Essence." Boomingham then swings at Haman from the front row, watching to see Sorrow's response.

I know we are, or else I wouldn't be speaking about my excitement for 66. I'm enjoying the present quest AND looking towards the future, not wishing I were there instead of here.

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Seven
Zepher replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Dave published all the mason information as of yesterday in thread at the very end, along with his personal thoughts. Rick was unable to be converted. Dave also accused Redblade, but without any concrete evidence. Redblade has been pinging me from the start too. Endgame, did you FAIL to convert anyone yesterday? That would be important to know NOW. I find it interesting too that Peanuts listed Rick as "confirmed town" or even, in his revised statement, as "likely town". Rick (according to Dave) is suspected of having some questionable night action. Rick has not commented on this evidence in any which way.- 52 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Seven

I've gotta say it... and I'm not loving saying this... but you seem pretty town, actually. Which leaves us high and dry today... but... In all of those, you think pretty damn logically. You even accuse Hinckley of being scummy in private to someone else, assumedly a scum would just try to reach out to someone scummy. Your block targets also seem pretty justified as far as townie thinking goes- Pally was looking scummy, I could understand a block on Corny day one... But where does that leave us today? Who do you suspect, seperate from defending yourself? Nightshroud has ALWAYS been on my list. Rick has also been someone who the masons were unable to recruit- why do we think that is? Rick, you weren't told you were the miller by chance, were you?- 52 replies

I'd actually be interested in having you in the second Russel Quest, Docken. I've got a WHOLE anti-SP battle built just for you! But, if you'd prefer, I could one into Guffington as well. I'm also, as is my new style, stealing heavily from past enemies I think worked. So far I've lifted people directly from Quest 4 and Quest 50, along with my favorite passive special ever thought up, stolen from our very own Endgame.

That's only if your QM has a kind old heart like me! Other people aren't quite as nice. On a totally unrelated note, scripting for my next few quests is chugging along. I finished most of the work for the Russel Quest today- most of the enemies are locked, and the plot seems pretty concrete. There will be NO NPCs from the Wren quests, but there will certainly be mentions. I'm looking forward to it! The next Guffington quest's scripting will finish soon too. They will be for parties of 3 and 4 respectively. I'm hoping to get returning questies from the original Guffington, and some of the others that I'm hoping to host.

The masons actually said yesterday that they don't really trust Rick... Either way, our conviction today seems relatively easy. Walter, what exactly is your townie claim, clean and simple. Who do you propose instead of yourself?- 52 replies

WBD, how dare you host a quest alongside Sandy! I have been trying to get on a Sandy quest forever, and how am I supposed to go on every quest you ever host if Sandy hosts one at the same time (I know I already missed one, but even so ). Nyx, Nerwen, I'd love to go on he new Sandy quest with you fine ladies. Nur too, it's been a while, don't think it would hurt to see you in the field again. Haldor perhaps? Skrall? Could be a good party. (Assuming I actually get on the Sandy quest/get back in time).

"Sure thing, Sorrow." Boomingham heals himself from the front row.

That's exactly what I meant when I said that Heroica society already had an engrained philsophy and moral decisions. When it comes down to it, no matter how you handle it, people from Heroica get hired to complete a task for money, not make moral decisions. So the rewards are for doing the task. That's the structure of the game, and also a decision every character made before joining Heroica.
-
Thank you!
-
Haman should be bleeding since round 8.

Only thing, Scorpiox, is that I asked you if you were okay with me socking you. In thread. While I was doing it. But yes, Scorpiox makes my point exactly. Each quest offers a choice each battle. Each quest offers a choice- signing up. If a QM made a quest that people found so morally abject that they couldn't justify signing up, that's a moral choice right there. But yes, you forgo your reward. Thats like.... morals in real life? Sometimes, yes. Look at Dek'ra. Look how often he sits out due to morals. There you go.
-
Every quest offers a choice. You're just asking to be rewarded for picking the one you pick .
-
Right, and I disagree with you. Isn't your whole point that we should accept different perceptions? Morality is determined by society. We have created a Heroica morality. Most quests conform to that because those are the morals of the society. If you go against the grain in normal society, that is also often viewed by most people are morally wrong, because society has already agreed on its set of morals. I'd say the QMs don't cram morals down the players throats, but rather that the players are consistent in their moral decisions as a whole, because that's how their society has them behave- QMs are only conforming to what the players are going to do. Watch and see what happens with your morally open quest, bet you anything you'll get nearly exactly the actions you're expecting.

I assume that those who would leave due to the name changing to Ameribricks are the same people who would protest me joining because I'm not European. I had fun poking fun of good ol' murica. Since we are the best country in history, we know we can make fun of ourselves and still be respected by everyone ever as the best.
-
When you host quests, you can implement it. But what you're saying now is that if a soldier in the army doesn't believe in killing, he shouldn't have to. Heroica is a group of warriors who are hired to do jobs. So, yes, next to always completing the job is the morally right thing to do. You are fulfilling the commitment you made when you signed on to complete the job. If two soldiers walk through the woods, and one is held at gun point, and the other can save him by killing the person holding his fellow soldier at gun point, but has a moral obligation not to... then, yeah, the soldier who stuck to his morals is unlikely to be rewarded.
-
I believe in gray morality, but not everyone does, and not all characters need to. Different people feel different ways. Some religions, for example, have (and particularly had) strict moral codes. Some societies do. Some philosophies do. Some governments do. Gray morality can't be pushed, because not everyone believes in it. More importantly, the gray morality you believe in may not be the gray morality other people believe in. It's a good idea, but even so, everyone will play their own way.

Haman should have been bleeding since Round 8. Boomingham nods at Sancho in thanks, and then swings his most trusted sword at Haman from the front row.
