  1. Yes, I did go back and do some reading, but that'd still be a toughy. One day we'll figure out a way to make an enemy that can't be damaged.
  2. Have we already discussed how difficult an etheral undead would be to defeat? They would be difficult, right? What could damage them?
  3. Sign Ups for Quest 68 Tesni Hightribe, Level 29 2/3 Raider Sign-Ups end in a week! Can't hurt to sign up, even if you don't quite meet the requirements.
  4. Boomingham watches as the vampire is dragged off stage by the U'Kin. He knew very little about the Guild of Invision, having never really crossed their path beyond the gnome who apparently occasionally worked for them. "Of course, Madam. Enjoy the meal." Boomingham gives a nod to the Bonapartes as well, the only other house he had not really spoken to all evening. The mustached man seems sad, and Boomingham impulsively gives him a friendly and comforting pat on the back before wondering if it was a tad strange and if maybe he had drank a little too much. Boomingham approaches the vampire, snagging just one piece of fruit off the plate in front of the old man in the hat. Boomingham pops it in his mouth and chews on it, happy once more to feel no poison coursing through his veins. Boomingham waits for Thothwick to introduce himself before too going through the pleasantries. "Hello, Dr. Cula." Boomingham says with a stiff bow. "It must be nice for you to get out and about. I must confess that I know little about vampires, though a number of my Norse friends have... admonished me for my views and actions concerning them in the past." "Step away from the cretin." Boomingham swats at the invisible Barty. "Is it really your belief that such, commonly... well, perhaps not all, but certainly most.... such nefarious beings such as vampires, yourself excluded of course, and this is only going off of past experience- do you think they can truly live side-by-side with other races? Lord Lawrence Boomingham, by the way."
  5. Endgame, read the final conclusion of 48 today, some nice stuff! I also skimmed the post in the Hall thread. It was well done, I like Dini a lot (and Punii of course)! A little long, though, I understand why others may not read it. When are you posting your final analysis? Also, could you post instructions for Punii's build?
  6. WBD, I've been following 65 closely... and of course love all of it.
  7. Jebs doesn't change submitted actions. And yes, there needs to be more elemental attacks. I think its starting to get there, though.
  8. Boomingham walks over to the Hinckwell table, assuming that Umbra was in no mood to take. He bowed in front of the matron of the family. "Hello, madam. My name is Lord Lawrence Boomingham. I am friends with your son Lorcan, and have had the honor of serving your family in the past. I would like to offer my congratulations on this joyous development. I imagine it must bring a mother great joy to see her son engaged."
  9. Boomingham snakes back from poking his head outside the front door of the Theatre just in time to see the big announcement. He grins at Nyx. "Don't that just warm your heart?"
  10. Atramor would pay 200 gold for someone to buy me one of those! Right, buddy?
  11. 160 is still MORE than a fair price for that. Gems cost 50, imbuing costs 50. That helmet is at least worth 900 gold. Pick me one up, someone! Oh, AND a hollow weapon.
  12. I thought the Captain was in the Theatre with us. Whoops.
  13. Boomingham chews on his lower lip. "I hope the young chaps and misses aren't in any sort of trouble. We could be helping them instead of whatever we're doing here." Boomingham makes his way over to Patricia. "Hello there, dear, I thought I'd check in. I've made the rounds and talked to all the guests, or at least all the families, and I've tasted some of the wine. There doesn't seem to be any foul play, yet. Is there anything else you can think of that needs doing while we wait for whatever might be coming?"
  14. They were stopping in. Decided the hero life wasn't for them. And Chrome, I think we all know the universe revolves around Atramor. When he dies, he'll be taking it with him, of course. I will destroy the Docken and his SP. Never fear. Another note: I keep forgetting to mention it, but that fruit salad battle...
  15. Originally Wren was going to have a hand in it (I even cleared it with Sandy) but I thought that was too powerful for her, and not really her style. I think Sandy said somewhere that she has it fleshed out now, though.
  16. I know everyone must be dead tired of hearing me say this, but I do have vague plans for them sometime in the future, if no one else is interested in them, though I would also be more than interested in seeing someone else's take on them.
  17. It was cancelled. The Porthiar's were also briefly mentioned in 53 - the Court of Demons took up residence in one of their old crypts.
  18. Boomingham grinds his teeth. "Can't say I like the balconies much. Just another thing to watch. Thanks, Barty. Keep an eye out, and make yourself scarce again." "Don't let anything happen to these people, Lawrence. They may not be good, but they're better than the alternatives." Barty disappears again. Boomingham, still drinkless, opens up one of his meads and takes a long drink from it. The party is weighing on his nerves. He glances up at the other balcony, just to see if there is anything worth seeing. He then makes his way over to Lady Shanxian. "I have heard of your troubles, my dear lady. A number of my old friends were on the quest to retrieve your boy. I would like to offer my apologies on behalf of Heroica, and also my own personal regret. I am Lord Lawrence Boomingham of the Paladin Order. I imagine it must be hard to enjoy the evening with such a heavy heart. I commend you for still attending." Boomingham raises his glass. "No drink for you?" Boomingham also nods politely to Lee Long as a greeting.
  19. It's Bellanoitte and Lyren (forgive what I believe is a mis-spelling of both of those names). And Sandy, why does only one party get an update. I want to know who that gloved hand belongs to.
  20. The next Guffington Quest will feature two rich people from Gull, but if you have plans for it I can either change their hometown, or just have them come from there assuming you don't want to do anything too radical with the town (aka, make it all Naga or something that wouldn't make sense for the characters).
  21. Most weapons had no effect back then, nor did they have an elemental upgrade - they were just a slightly higher WP, which was cool and understandable.
  22. ...it's because people dropped less good loot back then. And Sandy, I know why those folks are all in a bad mood, I read the other quests.
  23. I had a lot to say, and I will try to say it all now in the most efficient way possible (so forgive me if it seems rather sparse/harsh at points). First of all, I loved the quest. I really did. The story was fantastic, and villains were fun, you have a great talent for introducing characters and then bringing them back later. One of my major flaws is introducing a villain only when they are fought, but Aquos was intro'd way before he was battled, Gladius was scattered throughout and was intro'd in the beginning, I think Eidilon was there before he was fought, and of course we knew Death Progg from previous encounters. I thought this aspect was particularly strong. I also liked Gladius Unit - it was great that some boss fights were not with one of the "big bads", and it was tough knowing which was coming up next: a Prince, or a Unit member. That made it great fun. Your battles are very complicated, often in a good way. I'd advise more standard battles in general, but still, when you have a big unique battle, it is always well thought out. In the future, I simply suggest fewer of them. The QM should never have a hand in battles. I really disliked that aspect. Enemies should be designed, and then dice rolled. That was my largest complaint. Also, as others said, too high HP, and MANY battles had more than one stage. That's good maybe once a quest, not more often than that. The quest was long, but you segmented it well with the Three Princes. Even so, long quests should never be 6 months long. You know this, everyone has said it. Pacing was excellent quest too long . When it comes down to it, though, pacing is what matters more in my opinion. The Regret was a relatively obvious villain to me as the main villain. I thought he was too powerful. I know I have Gods in my quests, so it may appear that I'm one to talk, but he seemed infallible. I recognize his depression... I don't know, he just felt sometimes a little too "evil incarnate" to me. It's not my style, but it may just be personal. I, on the other hand, found all the princes to be compelling characters. Punni is clearly a crowd favorite, and lots of good NPCs. I found Hal to be a little too 2D, but again, perhaps it was just me. The death of Papa Spider seemed contrived and thrown in just to pull at the heart strings. That was my only major story arch complaint. The spotting of Mythrogg earlier in the story was fantastic though, I didn't get it and it was a great touch. The statues were also cool foreshadowing. Too much loot. I'll probably keep saying it for every quest, but too much unique loot. Very powerful stuff. Your enemies are challenging, so you need to equip your heroes well, but even so, now the other QMs have to balance for them. 4 hides, weapons from each of the other bosses, plus whatever other fancy stuff is floating around, lots of unique venoms and toxics, tons of unique types of upgrades.... just too much. I think it is a personal opinion, but it is probably my largest complaint with the direction the game is going, so I will continue to bring it up. Congratulations, Endgame. In case it doesn't seem it, I loved the quest. It is the only quest I would ever follow for 6 months. You should be supremely proud. You told a great story, came up with a great number of ingenious and inventive battles, and kept everyone engaged. I think that 48 will forever be an important part of Heroica. Take a break now, and fight some Black Nights.
  24. He actually has extremely fond memories of Hybros that quest. That's why he accused him. Boomingham shares my love of putting the people he/I love in tricky/awkward situations. Sold it recently, sadly.
  25. It's only from reading so many Sandy quests that I know to really pay attention to a picture with lots going on. If its a shot of everyone, you can be assure something fishy is going on.
