As lame as this is.... trying to keep Boomingham's accounts straight. He owed 50 gold to Docken, but since Arthur paid Docken back... that debt transfers to Arthur. Of course, Boomingham doesn't know that.... so, what should I do? Also, Sorrow, remember, if you want that gold back you'll have to ask Boomingham for it yourself, and he'll be haggling the whole time.

1) Your past Mafia Experience - Lots of females and moon related characters. 2) Your ability to focus on the game over the next 32 days - 90%. Finished final film of the semester yesterday, so I won't disappear over weekends anymore. If I did well enough in Mafia School, then you'll have no complaints! 3) Will you be able to keep up with 20 hour NA deadlines? - Yes! 4) Your favorite Mafia moment - Do we really have to always answer these? That time that I was the SK in EB Mafia I. I have never had to put less thought into a game, it was a blessing. 5) Tell me why you think Vanilla Townies are important or how they are most useful - They sometimes get killed instead of power roles, but other than that should put in as little effort as possible so as to not distract the real players. 6) (6 steps in a Mafia application?) Give me your word that you'll participate in whatever crazy concoction I've doctored to avoid the meta-gaming. It will take everyone's cooperation and to operate on their honor. - I don't have honor, but eh, what the hell, you can trust me.

Boomingham walks back into the Hall, having once more checked on Servus and making sure he was still alive and well. The quiet brute of a man had adapted well to city life, shopping for himself and eating well, though he seemed to spend most of his time in his room alone. Even when Boomingham visited, they only spoke in short phrases, making sure everything was alright. The day with the Zeigfrieds had been long, and Boomingham is tired. He walks up to the bar and orders a drink, settling into that groaning bar stool without so much as glancing around.

I'm not a kill for loot sort of guy. I was waiting for your commentary before I posted, Flare, but here I go! Short quest, lots of fun, great characters. Wonderful pictures! Pacing was mostly great, some pauses but never unnecessary, I never felt like you were doing us a disservice when the quest happened to not continue. I liked the length! Boomingham had fun with mages and I was happy to get a chance to meet some of the "younger" heroes. The Sorrow side-quest seemed indulgent and held the rest of us up. Not my style, but to each his own, and it didn't take too much time. Thank you so much for a fun, simple, quick quest that kept me on my toes!

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Conclusion
Zepher replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hey, this time I stand by that I read it and that the wording WAS ambiguous (you MAY be converted could quite possible be me OR anyone). I didn't realize that I was using it to my advantage until after I started, so that part was 100% my fault, and I apologize. It at least allowed for some illegal exciting action on Day 1! You were the player who pinged me both most and least. Literally on a daily basis I swung back and forth on my opinion of you. So... great job half of the time!- 85 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Conclusion
Zepher replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Always fun, def. I shouldn't have played this time due to time constraints, but I also couldn't resist. I don't deserve this win, but its the first game I've ever lived through, so that's exciting. Congrats to the masons and town for a great win. Nightshroud, Pandy, Pie, Dave, you guys were a huge and great force this game. All scum - great game, we were on the ropes for a while.- 85 replies

Boomingham stares distractedly at both of the men. He then looks at the boy. "Look who learned a life lesson. Don't drink drinks that hooded figures give you after breaking into your house." Boomingham then looks at both the men. He shrugs. "They helped return him, whoever took him- assuming, of course, that one of them was the culprit. Hoods aren't too uncommon. By this logic, I could have given him the drink. I tried to find him and I wear a hood. I don't know Alchemists, and I can't say that I was in love with the Wolfgang last time I saw them, but you've both paid your dues for whatever damage you possibly caused. Just remember, if either of you try to get to him, wizards are powerful chaps. When his parents return, he won't be easy to touch."

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Eight
Zepher replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Redblade is at least speaking up. He's not acting at all cagey... and while he is maybe defeatist, he doesn't seem to have scum teammates urging him on to defend himself. I think that it is finally time to test out the theory that was presented by the masons a number of days ago. If Walter flips scum, then we will KNOW for a fact that Peanuts is scummy too, because Walter was protecting his sorry tentefeelers- er- I mean hide. I miss the moon. You Earthlings have been making me lose focus on it. I mean, us Earthlings. Or something. We like the moon too, right? I'm hungry for cheese. Point is, let's get someone we have results on. Walter was unrecruitable, let's find out why. Rick yesterday claimed too that the scum had "blocked" a recruitment on him, but that was not the case. Let's see if it follows through. Li'l Walter Kovacs (Walter Kovacs) I'm sorry, I meant to say an action verb before that: Vote: Li'l Walter Kovacs (Walter Kovacs)- 23 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Eight
Zepher replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Mayor: Li'l KielDaMan (KielDaMan). A matter I can trust the town in. If KDM was lying, the real masons would probably come forth and correct us, so I trust him. I agree, also, that the town must be 4 v. 2. Which is really good for us. Finally, I'd still like to keep an eye on Walter today. His PMs rang true to me yesterday, but those were from BEFORE Dave was dead, so its very possible something has happened since then. If we lynch him today and find him scum, we can probably assume he was lying about blocking Peanuts and ta da, we've got our final two scum.- 23 replies

Boomingham shakes his head. He sheaths both of his swords, pockets his new bit of metal, and hefts the Undead, hanging him on both of his shoulders, grunting a little under the weight. "Let's get going. Damn heart is beating in my ear. Chap would be dead if he wasn't already dead." Barty hovers far away in disgust.
-
You forgot "immune to all damage". What's he drop. See, that's what I'm saying. Not a fan of random "hey, this guy deserves an extra fight because of his QM style", but rather "this guy deserves an extra fight because of his QM style... here's how it makes 100% sense in the story" should be employed. But I don't know how Flare did it, so perhaps it was motivated.
-
Yes, but mixing QMing with player experience... I don't know, not really a fan.
-
I'm a little confused as to how or why Sorrow is in an extra fight... but I assume it will be explained? Oh, hi, I'm Scuba, here, let me squash your dreams.
-
But there are characters who like the battles exclusively! no one is forcing any of us into the fields. I agree, they rack up a lot of loot along with their levels, and can sustain themselves with what they get, which sort of defeats the point of getting more GP the longer they stay (I'd argue the longer they stay in the fields, the EASIER they get because they gain more consumables than they lose each battle). That being said, I don't use the fields, so I can't be an authority. And Flare, you're not allowed to post here until you tell me whats in that chest.
-
I understand the fields, there are players who DO want to figure out battles and not roleplay, and I'm happy we're offering them that... though I wish the fields themselves were a little tougher. I don't think there should be Phoenix Essences dropped out there, for example - that way the party would HAVE to return back to the Hall from time to time to restock. To each their own, of course!
-
I understand that! 1/5 is a little high, in my opinion, but its up to you and it seems like its staying as is. HOWEVER, I would lobby for pushing secondary character down to level 40. Between level 30 and 40 there will probably be about a year of gameplay, real time, and it would be a nice reward upon reaching level 40. Right now it could be two years for a player without any significant change. Besides, how nice would it be after a year spent going up only ten levels to get to do that again in like two months.
-
It would be nice to march "Secondary Character" down to Level 40, as that's the only notable level without a new class reward. I don't mind the leveling level off, it does stretch the game admittedly, but I think its a required stretch so that new players don't feel discouraged, and so that old players don't just power through the game. I'd hate for us to have reached Expert Classes as quickly as we reached Advanced Classes, they wouldn't have been nearly as exciting. 1/4 is as slow as it goes though, I believe. I'm going to play two characters for a while, probably, but I'll retire Boomingham at that point if the story permits a fitting ending. I don't know if I'd love playing two characters for a long stretch of time, but I guess we'll see!
-
I really want to get to Level 50. I've finally fleshed out a character I'd be very happy to play. I should go to the fields and get 100 GPs and get that glory medal - whoever has those are going to become as equally unbalanced as rogues very quickly .

Boomingham nods thanks to the Yeti for his help with the chest, but then waits for everyone to step back. He slides his Frozen Sabre out of its sheath and rams it down onto the chest's decaying lock. He then throws open the lid....
-
Boomingham pockets the gold and nods his thanks to the Yeti. "Don't I know it. Tell it to him. At least he killed the evil doers without much flinching this time around, though he still keeps some pretty poor company." Barty shoots an evil look at Sorrow and Sancho. "It was nice to serve alongside someone who respects the Gods, for a change." "Would have won it quicker if you'd helped out, boy-o. Sometimes you're outmatched. Doesn't mean you stop fighting. If you'd gone down, I would have made Sorrow get you back up again. If you and I serve together again and you sit in the back doing nothing while we all fight, I will have stronger words for you." Boomingham shakes his head. He then turns to Thalion. "It was a pleasure to serve with you, Thalion. Pass me that shovel when you're done and I'll dredge up some of the pond." Finally, Boomingham waddles over to the keeled over Sorrow. "How are you, chap?" Boomingham grabs the undead and straitens him up, supporting him on his shoulder. The hefty Paladin can easily support the rotting undead. "Best thing to do sometimes, Sorrow, is to just go ahead and walk it off."

Oh, and JoeSchmo, thank you for finding all those rats for me!

Well, you didn't have SP. Most quests don't have that many enemies immune to assassination. I'd say in a common Zepher battle, maybe 20% of the enemies have immunity to assassination (note: common) and even so, I think I'm actually more likely to include it than most QMs. Being able to clear away 80% of a battle is pretty good. Go check out Quest 39, you'll see Hybros cut through enemies... or hell, even Quest 50, he's got close to if not THE most Star Coins.
