I like the minifigures but the design of the tank itself is kinda bland. I can't ever remember what it looks like lol. But that's not Lego's fault. The vehicle design was just generic compared to other Star Wars vehicles. Even other Star Wars tanks! Like that droid tank from the prequels was unique as heck looking and hard to forget.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
BrickG replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think I'm personally done with the non-franchises series minifigures. I've noticed that I just kind of... get sick of them. I like them at first. But then I have a pile of minifigures I don't really ever use, not even for display. While franchise ones are like... the Simpsons... or Batman... or Disney... and they're the kind of minifigures you can display and everyone will know what they are. Also those characters often have a place in my heart so I don't get sick of them really. Whereas the random series non-franchise ones can be quite cool they're not exactly characters with a story. I'll keep getting a couple in every series maybe, just the best ones. But I think I'm just pretty much done with them. That said I really hope for more Simpsons, Disney, Batman, or any other theme I'd love the characters for. Doctor Who, Star Trek, whatever lol (those have no chance!). Either that or make me care about the characters in the generic themes. Like the Lego movie ones were nice because I knew a lot of those characters and won't get sick of them either because they're not bland (I appreciate a lot of the designs here though, I just need something more myself). -
ToysRus all around me have been doing massive discounts on all video game toy lines. Dimensions was all at least half off. Heck, Disney Infinity is like $3 a pop. Was tempted to buy some of those. I know the game is dead but still. I hesitated on buying dimensions. Even at half off, since I don't play the game it's still quite expensive for what is essentially just ONE minifigure and a bunch of parts I don't need :P.

The movies maintain some mystery in the force. Like they don't give answers but only hints. The original expanded universe over-answered everything and make everything non-mysterious. One good thing about that being erased is a return to mystery. Rebels seems to be trying for the mystery but it's freakin' ridiculous. Seems like they might have made Ashoke into some kind of Force-Werewolf. Geeze this show is bad... Just KILL off characters. :/

From the trailer my guesses are (spoilers?): Those new AT-AT like things, the new A-Wing which appears for about .5 seconds, the new "C-Wing" or whatever those things heading towards the walker are. Probably a 3rd X-Wing too or maybe they'll keep one of the old ones around.

Yeeeaaah I don't need a repeat of the Hoth battles. Heck, we got more walker action in Rogue One. Please be different enough!

Is there a picture of John Stewart? The links were taken down.

Well I prefer Thor in the movies. He's got a secret identity in the comics. Donald Blake. He's a doctor and surgeon, about as opposite as his superhero persona as you can get. I've never liked Thor's secret identity. I prefer warrior Thor. Plus there's already a surgeon super hero in the form of Doctor Strange and his secret identity actually makes sense and fits his character... So he's not dumb in the movies. But in the comics it's kind of weird because he can act REALLY dumb as Thor but is also a really good doctor who is smart, but doesn't ever seem smart when he's Thor...

What would be considered a "large" LEGO collection?
BrickG replied to Brikkyy13's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've probably bought... I have no idea how to even guess. I've never counted... 50? 100 sets? Probably between there somewhere. Maybe closer to 50. I'm not sure. What I've discovered is that when it comes to building things you can never have too much. No matter how large my collection got I always found myself lacking certain pieces when I was building. I'd lack enough of them in a certain color or whatever. It happened 100% of the time and honestly constantly made me with Lego had a few FEWER pieces. XD Right now I feel like my collection is not small. In fact it feels too large because I never have time to build anymore. I haven't for like almost 3 years now probably (I'm just counting custom Mocs). In fact I've been considering getting rid of much of my lego because I can't fit it in a London Flat, half the collection has been with my parents since I moved out, and again, I just never build anymore. That said my Minifigure collection is too small. It can never be big enough and I'm never quitting that part or selling any. I had to pack them so I bought little baggies for each one. I kept buying 200 at a time and one minifigure would go in one baggie. I kept having to buy more baggies... Yet... it's NOT enough. It's just all perspective. That said 466 sets being "small" is crazy.- 36 replies

Next Thor looks more interesting than the other ones. I love what they've done with Thor but at the same time I think Thor 1 and 2 are at best average movies (especially 1... that love story comes about because Thor has muscles...). My question is... what kind of powers does Thor have without his hammer? When he lost his hammer in Thor 1 he oddly seemed to lose ALL of his powers. Some random hospital people could subdue him (for a time). Yet other times like in Agents of Shield it suggests that Asgardians are just plain super strong and bulletproof anyways. In this movie he loses his hammer (as Thor always does) and seems to still super powered to the same level as normal, minus the hammer. WAT SENSE? Anyways, look forward to it.

Any with a cool baseplate. I miss cool, bumpy, moutainy baseplates.

I don't hold out much hope. I think all these "silly" things like Ninjago, Nexo-Knights, Chima, etc probably legit sell a lot better to kids than the more plain ones like Castle, Pirates, etc. I'd personally rather have more historic (though not necessarily accurate) and classical representations. But I don't see those kind of sets selling as well or letting Lego have their own IPs and make money off that. Lego can't really OWN Castles but if they give it a brand and unique look, BAM, it's a franchise. If anything, from a business point of view, I think going back to generic (but cool to me) things would probably be a terrible idea for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced even CITY with "CitEx-JoGo!" or something weird some day. :P

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
BrickG replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I might be afraid for the movie (no freakin' movie can support that many characters. How many characters until your movie is nothing but cameos?) but I really like the thought of the Lego sets. I have high hopes for the next Avengers movie sets. :) -
Batman Beyond Batman.I guess it would be hard without a new mold. He can't really have the same face mask...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 17 Rumors and Discussion
BrickG replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think it was a mistake to make the hidden figure nothing special. This thing is now going to look worse to people than it otherwise would have because it got people's expectations up. It's just a normal figure. Doesn't stand out. Heck, doesn't even seem to have anything unique about it besides a cape? It's no Mr. Gold. I know that's not what they were aiming for but I'm also pretty sure they weren't aiming to disappoint haha.- 1,421 replies

I think this is the closest we'll get to chopped up Anakin. I somehow think Lego won't go for someone whose just burned alive and is missing his limbs. I agree it would be cool though! (P.S. tks Goonmo for the answer)

We need a Vader duel set. Just him, Luke, that little bridgey thing and the thing at the end. Luke missing a hand, and with a face screaming in pain. A bit gruesome for a Lego set haha but it would be cool. Maybe have a bit of the previous room too where Vader force throws junk at Luke. Lego doesn't really use the strategy of removing hand parts ever... so maybe give two torsos. One pristine and with a hand. The other might have a tattered clothing and missing the hand (perhaps filled in so it's not just a missing lego piece or something).

Hmmm I think the hype behind the old set might actually fuel some extra sales for the newer one (if the rumors are true). Also, correct me if I'm wrong but Lego's AFOLs have been increasing a bit, which also might fuel more sales. When the thing comes out you just know it'll be on the front page of Reddit. I think if anything the old UCS Falcon has gotten a LOT more popular since it's fire, slightly troubled release. I think a lot of people who missed out on it will save for it. And I also think a HUGE thing going for it is the new movies. Star Wars is more on people's minds than it's been since the prequels and not in a bad way like in those prequel days XD. If Episode 8 does well I think the set will sell pretty well despite the price.

I'm not sure what it could be that would be... any more amazing than the other minifigures. I mean Mr. Gold was at least a gold dude. This guy is just some generic - highwayman- (highlight for name of the figure)? Idunno. Maybe it'll be special in some way. I think really standing out like Mr. Gold means you have to go kind of crazy. If it's just another unique minifigure design that is normal otherwise then I wouldn't see what was so special about hiding him.

Something about Pooh having normal legs is almost creepy. Hahaha. Give him small legs. The rest look real good. :)

Does the Darth Vader coming in the next set (with him, palpatine, and his messed up burned self) come with the helmet that can be taken half off? I still don't have that version of Vader.
-
"Solo" becomes a much less cool name if you take it literally. I mean yeaaaah I guess it was always there... it's a part of his character and says a lot about him and his possible past. But Idunno. It would just be lame. I guess I'd rather he adopt the last name through some less "try hard" or predictable way. Maybe he really liked Solo Cola and therefore adopted the name. :P

I'd be disappointed if the scale wasn't basically minifigure scale. I don't really care if it has an interior. Since my stuff is for display and I never really display interiors I don't care. I'd take one but if it sacrifices too much of the outside I'd probably me Lego-angry. Anyways, I hope it's true. I really want to see it. If the outside is roughly minifigure sale (and I can fit Chewie and Han in the cockpit and sit them side by side, as well as characters squishily standing in the back) then I'd be happy. I'd buy two. Maybe three lol. The cost is a lot but I'd spend some savings on this set. However, I'm not going to get my hopes up because this rumor happens every single year and we have this conversation every single year... EDIT: I also want a cockpit that is shaped right. Most Lego Falcons aside from the old USC have that prolonged, too long, piece. It sucks. Make a new mold that is shaped right or do it like the original big set did.

I must have like 150 hours in Zelda: Breath of the Wild I've just bought The Last of Us and Final Fantasy XV but Zelda keeps distracting me. It's too good.

The last Yavin IV Rebel Trooper was in 2013... I want a lot of these. I feel like it was a missed opportunity with Rogue One having none represented in Lego. Heck, a scene with like 5 or six of these and Darth Vader, and you build the hallway where they get slaughtered.... I just want Yavin IV Rebel Troopers.
