  1. Oh god the skin colors printed on the minifigures is a huge pet peeve of mine. It means you can't use them on anyone else... :/ I mean sometimes it's unavoidable like with a bikini or anything that shows a LOT of skin, but 90% of the time they can leave the skin out and make it so that the torso or legs are usable by any skin tone.
  2. Too late to bump this? I was not happy with the IG-88 provided by Lego in any of it's forms. Same with pretty much any Lego droid that uses battle droid style parts. They're stiff, flimsy and un-Lego IMO. So I saw things like this and decided to try to make my own inspired by the ones here. (no idea if I should have just made a new thread since this one is so old! Wish I could photograph mine as well as these ones) Honestly I just mostly chose what pieces to use based on what I had :P. Based lots off the one here made back in 2011.. XD EDIT: This is another version. The colors are worse but the stability is far better. His legs were too difficult to pose before. Now he's mostly stable. Do those little 1x1 dot pieces with holes come in dark grey? Does the T piece come in a darker grey too? I also don't like the gap between his torso and waist. NOT DONE! :O
  3. Brontosaurus please. Anything that has not been done and isn't a stupid mutant.
  4. The Force Awakens trailers were intentionally misleading (especially about Finn and that lightsaber). I would not be surprised if this was in some way too. Also Rogue One went out of it's way to create footage specifically for a trailer. They might do that here too. I'm not sure if we can really decide anything from this trailer besides the basics when it comes to spoilers.
  5. The classic AT-ATs and AT-STs aren't classic. They, like the Ties, are slightly updated and more modern models it seems. The Star Wars universe doesn't make huge leaps in tech except for a few cases like the Death Star so it's not surprising some of the stuff looks the same'ish. Here's a picture of the new AT-ST. They're clearly not the old ones but more like AT-ST Mark II. They look sleeker like the First Order does in general.
  6. The new AT-ATs and AT-STs are neat. They're kind of light the new Tie Fighters, barely different but still different. I hope we get Lego sets of them some time. Here's the new AT-ST. The best picture I could find: The main difference is the window and it look sa biiit sleeker. I want one. The AT-ST that is currently out is one of my favorite sets already.
  7. Supply is only going to get worse when Episode 8 comes out. I bet the set is hard to find until much later in 2018.
  8. Any rumors of Luke's X-Wing making an appearance in Episode 8? If it does I wouldn't be surprised. Did I miss anything? Any reasonably believable words about a Luke minifigure yet for 2018? EDIT: Old Luke.
  9. Toys R Us #5 had them finally. I only physically went to 2 but I called 5. If you can manage to get them it's still a good deal. They're selling for like $35+ already and will likely go up and up. I might get a second one as an investment...
  10. The local Toys R Us literally can't find the boxes. They have them in stock but I went there and they just couldn't find them... Another Toys R Us literally just closed. Another farther Toys R Us sold out today before I could get there because they're far. Another Toys R Us apparently has been selling them early and sold out before it was even scheduled to be on sale. So I'm not sure if I can actually get one. I kind of hope this latest Toys R Us bankruptcy thing finally finishes them off now.
  11. So do the stores in London get like a weekly shipment I could camp out for? I hope they don't pre-order every single one and people can walk-in for them. I'm moving in 2 weeks back to London and desperately want this Lego ship. I plan to get one by camping if I can. Anyone know the schedule the London stores have for restocking?
  12. Oh I got the name wrong. Anyways you can count some of the Captain Americas. The movie ones. But some of the ones not from the movies (but only the comics) probably shouldn't count. Chris Evans is just one Captain America.
  13. On a Star Trek-ish note... The Orville... It is like a cheesy, somewhat poorly made 90s sci-fi show. Very Trek'ish but with worse characters and more humor. It doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It's got that classic Seth McFarland humor but only a bit and only occasionally then tries to go into classic sci-fi scenarios that deal with ethics and cultures and stuff. Blablabla. It's got really terrible designs. Like I thought we were over the different species with slightly different noses or ears. Trek started that due to budget constraints and I can't blame them but apparently it's not over at all. I just watched an episode where people were a bit spotty (forgivable in the 90s with Jadzia, but less so now). The show almost feels like TOO MUCH of a tribute and IMO it actually is a very bland and poor one. Not surpassing the original Treks in any real or meaningful way. It's highly episodic so far too. And it's awkward mix of not taking itself serious and sometimes taking itself seriously will lead me to not take it seriously because it doesn't know what it wants. I just don't care about it. The robot guy looks like an idiot also.
  14. I honestly don't think they could do proper justice to Wayne Manor without it seemingly like just another play set. But I guess I'm a stickler for minifigure scale and it would have to be huuuuge. XD
  15. So I've got a new UK visa and will again be moving from the US to the UK. I've got several big bins of Lego at my parent's house. I'm not sure if I want to keep it there. And the London house I'll be staying in isn't exactly American size and my collection still in the UK (in storage) is already too much! So I'm thinking of selling my non-minifigures, well, most of it. This includes thousands of $$$ in sets ranging from Fantasy Castle to Star Wars to Lord of the Rings to Super Heroes. If I was patient I could probably make a lot of money off this collection (it includes a limited amount of unopened sets too, like 4-6). But I'm moving in like 20 days :P. I'm tempted to Craigslist it but I'd probably get less than 10% of it's value. I could leave it at my parent's for the time but I don't really want to (it's been sitting in one of their rooms for 3 years since I moved out). If I was living somewhere that wasn't London and with ROOM I'd probably keep it. But honestly with my busy life I literally never get to build any MOCs anymore (last one was probably 2 years ago) it's become less and less important to keep the Lego. I will realistically basically NEVER have the time to build. And no matter how much I collect I'm always lacking specific parts for my MOCs and need to special order heh... and it's just not a priority compared to running a new business, hanging with friends, the girlfriend, etc. Don't worry though. I'm not quitting Minifigures or the odd set. I'm buying TWO Lego UCS Falcons after I move some time. XD Anyways I guess a backstory isn't needed. I just find myself with a lot of Lego I kind of want to get rid of quick but not if I only sell it for like 5% the value. I don't see a good option here realistically. I'll probably have to just leave it in my parent's house until I have a better option. Suggestions?
  16. Batman Beyond Batman ain't happening but one can dream!
  17. I think they just didn't get to the other characters. The only ones that might be hard for them to do legit are Moe and Barney. If sales were better we'd almost certainly see Skinner and the rest. I still hope we do see them but it's not looking likely :(. I think a Bart's classroom set would be cool. We can get more of the students and faculty. Plus the iconic white board complete with a gag. Minifigures could be stuff like: Skinner* Edna Krabappel Super Nintendo Chalmers Bart Nelson Martin Milhouse Wendell Sherri and Terri Ooooh well!
  18. I'm tempted to turn this into a debate about piracy but I'll not lol. Anyways I've seen both episodes THREE times now. Not out of love. But just because more family wanted to see it. And my opinion has lowered with each viewing. I don't know how the bad acting didn't bother me on the first viewing but it's bothering me a lot now. I mean I guess Star Trek has somehow been REALLY lucky with MASTERFUL actors. Freakin' Patrick Stewart! Freakin' the whole cast of TNG and DS9 and TOS were excellent. I mean the acting here seems so forced at times and unnatural.
  19. I could hope for a new Simpson's set. I mean, I own 100% of the Simpon's LEGO. I haven't even watched Simpsons since like 2002 but I'm still extremely nostalgic for it. That said, I don't think we'll get more. :( Maybe if the big sets keep selling well. I imagine the Simpson's House is a decent seller. I'm not sure if they're still up for sale because there's a good enough market for them or if they're just in stock a lot.
  20. I really don't think there is any reason for adults to ENJOY Ninjago or the like. I mean if you look at children's shows and IPs with adult appeal they always have a reason for adults to like them. From SpongeBob to Avatar The Last Airbender. Either there's story depth, hidden adult humor, whatever. Ninjago doesn't really do well on that stuff. As for Pokemon. That is not a kid's thing. It's an everyone thing. Go into a college the day a Pokemon game is released and you'll see half the people playing it ;). Go into work and you might see that too lol. The point is some things have stuff that DRAWS adults. Pokemon included. Ninjago and the other LEGO-specifc IP's generally simply don't have anything to even draw adults. And when we talk about sales we aren't just talking about AFOLs but parents of kids who like Lego. They need a similar draw too to be willing to take their kids. Most parents probably looked at The LEGO Movie and thought "Neat! Lego!" but they look at the Ninjago movie and with the LEGO in smaller print might think "what the heck is a Ninjago?". I'm simplifying yes, but I'm also on a forum and don't have the energy to go into that much depth. :P
  21. I think Lego themed movies are strong except that Lego's attempts at making their own personal IPs (aside from the GENERIC Lego IP of The Lego Movie) are NOT designed to appeal to adults. That's a HUGE thing they have going against them. If they made Ninjago interesting to anyone above the age of 12 I think it would have done better. But even a LOT of ALOFs just simply ignore the likes of Ninjago, Nexus Knights, etc instead going to 3rd party franchises or CITYish stuff. The Lego Movie did well because it appealed to everyone. Lego Ninjago just doesn't. By applying a random non-generic IP to Lego it alienates adults IMO. BUT I think The Lego Movie 2 will do wonderful. I hope it's good. I don't see how they can make a movie BETTER than The Lego Movie. It was a masterpiece. I just don't see them ever doing better lol.
  22. Well I think I might buy some of those minifigures but the set just isn't doing it for me. It looks fun but if I had to choose between what I display I wouldn't choose this.
  23. It's not doing as well financially compared to the other two movies. I think this tells tales of how far Lego's kiddie-centric brands can go. Will this mean more franchise movies? Lego's IP outside of "generic" Lego (talking about Ninjago, Nexo Knights, etc) really does lack that common adult appeal I find. Where the generic Lego movie is generic enough and JUST Lego so it had more reach IMO. And Batman is Batman... But I would think any future Lego Kiddie IPs would preform comparatively.
  24. !!!Spoilers!!!
