Thanks! I thought I had done my homework and had read everything there was to read about this giant. Lots of useful infos on that page...BTW, what are those alternative parts for the two giant wheels? (out of curiosity, since I have already bought those...)?
-
Doing good so far...I already have 4000+ parts from my own collection of mixed and loose parts! I have already ordered one of the rarest parts: those two large wheels in LBG (They can only be found on the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer 10030). Those three main reactors are HUGE and I already own three of those in the old light gray, but they shall remain forever on my UCS ISD :)

I am almost finished searching through my loose parts...looking good...There is no way I am going to dismantle any set I own, but I have lots of loose LBG, DBG and Technic parts. More details soon...

Well, of course, some parts will be hard (impossible?) to find... The LBG barrel (2489) I dont have, and only five stores on bricklink sell it (each store has one to sell...). That part, for now, will be replaced by its DBG counterpart. The LBG 8x8 dish (3961) I dont have either, and only one of those is for sale on BL (although, being a fan of the older classic space theme, I seem to own every one of those sets that contain the dish, in the older light gray...) The light gray shoud do the job...

Thanks for the tips! It was the blog Gimme LEGO (Dr.Daves) that got me interested in building the AT-AT. I have already read the different topics about custom UCS sized AT-ATs available on this forum and I have decided to go with Cavegod's version because the building instructions were available (I already got the needed files, ordered directly from its ceator) and his version is, by far IMHO, the best looking one. First step: Get the instructions and the parts list: DONE. Second step: see what parts I already have...WORK IN PROGRESS..will report back soon! Again, any comments or helpful suggestions are welcome!

A must buy! The design is rather simplistic, but the ship itself is simplistic too.. a round ball linked to two hexagonal panels by an horizontal bar. Simplistic, but iconic! Of course, prices go up if demand is up. According to the latest news, demand for LEGO toys is far from going down. And so do their prices...

Hi. I thought I would share my experince with the bricklinking and building of one of the most wonderful MOCs I have seen in my life: The 6100+ pieces UCS AT-AT designed by Cavegod. I have already bricklinked the UCS 10179 Millennium Falcon and had lots of fun doing it. Some threads already discuss in lenght the process of doing so. Since there seems to be no thread from other members discussing in details this adventure (please point me to one if it already exists), the following posts will describe, step by step, my own experience. Comments are gladly welcome! Here's a picture that shows in a great way the sheer size of that thing...(with Cavegod, its creator):

I bought those same stickers from the same seller and the colors were way off...red stickers are clearly pink (!) The seller agreed to send me new stickers, but my hopes are low since the seller argued that it was LEGO that was having problems with the stability of their red color...I'll post pics of my CN engine later, my custom stickers look quite good I believe.

It looks OK. I wasnt expecting much more. The UCS sized mocs already existing look quite the same...not worse, nor better. There must be some way to design a better looking cockpit, though. Stickers: oh no, not again! The price? well, its LEGO, its UCS, its Star Wars...was anybody really expecting a 150USD UCS Tie Fighter?...

That AT-AT looks great! I plan to build it, its size and looks fit my needs perfectly. Do you have any updayed pics or ldd file? I would gladly post pics of it when finished. The only thing I would like to modify is the cockpit (unless your moc alrady has an interior for the head?) and the legs (I would really like the hips and knees to be posable). Thank you for the nice work!

Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)
legocharles replied to Farmer Harv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I just stumbled upon this topic and strangely, yesterday I experienced an incomplete set for the first time ever (I've been building for more than 30 years, hundreds of sets...). The set is the lone ranger train. Four curved tracks were missing!!! huge pieces indeed. My son and I were unable fo complete the oval track... The four curved tracks were clearly missing, but LEGO mistakenly included 8 straight tracks instead of 4 in the box...kind of a substitution, but still, the curved tracks were missing... -
Well this time it worked! For an unknown reason the red parts were not showing up in bricklink, thats why bricklink showed me only 251 different parts . Now bricklink shows all the 310 different parts. All I have left to do is manually enter the number of parts for each of the 310 different items...

Thanks for the reply and for your work! I will try again tonight, but still Im wondering what I am doing wrong, since I ve tried it twice already with the above result...any idea? Stef

Hi! I just found this great MOC and have bought the pdf instructions in order to build it. When I copy the xml file from post #151 into my wanted list on bricklink, I end up with 251 different items and none of them is red (or any other kind of red). Before I start placing orders on bricklink, I would like to know what is wrong with the wanted list I have? Any input will be greatly appreciated! NB when I copied the xml file I opened it with windows notepad, did a copy and paste and got no error message from bricklink. Stef

similar to what I did: I got some inexpensive LBG lever bases (they came with black levers). I combined thoses LBG bases with some old light gray levers I got for cheap on bricklink. Nobody will ever notice any difference...I had some (12?) LBG levers that I also used and they look the same as the old grey ones unless you know it and look specifically for the difference...
