The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
Garmadon replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To the most excellent, etc., etc., Don Isaac Montoya, I am delighted to have received your very... in-... conclusive?.. missive. I hope that you do turn it over to the house right-side-up and not the opposite way, or that the council is expert at reading communications written up-side-down - a very useful skill, I assure you. I sincerely hope that this treaty may be rapidly finalized and a peaceful, friendly relationship more thoroughly established between these two great nations. The Empire of Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion
Garmadon replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To the honorable, excellent, etc., etc., Don Isaac Montoya and the nation of Corrington, As the news has doubtlessly reached you of the recent end of the war with our rascally rival, Mardier, and as certain rumors may be floating around that Eslandola has had its fill of war for the moment and means to pursue as peaceful a course as may be possible in the upcoming Era and re-institute a perfectly friendly and cordial relationship with the its esteemed neighbors - which had it not been for our (temporarily) mad king and the nation of Mardier, should never have been anything else - I have now been engaged to put those rumors to rest... they are quite true. In short, I hereby present the form of the treaty which, we believe, should aid in the consolidation of our friendship, and which nonetheless requires nothing more from one nation or the other which common civility should not already demand. The proposed treaty is as follows: Be it known that, For the promulgation of peace and trade in the great Empires of Corrington and Eslandola! - The ruling bodies of these realms hereby agree that: During the duration of this Treaty, no aggressive acts shall be permitted by the Empire of Eslandola or any of its citizens or entities upon any citizen or entity of Corrington, or the Empire of Corrington itself, and all issues which may arise shall be decided by the courts of each nation working in peaceful conjunction, which they agree to do as long as possible in order to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.. Also during the duration of this Treaty, no aggressive acts shall be permitted by the Empire of Corrington or any of its citizens or entities upon any citizen or entity of Eslandola, or said Empire itself, and all issues which may arise shall be similarly decided by the courts of each nation working in peaceful conjunction, which they agree to do as long as possible in order to arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.. Should any violation of the above stipulations take place, and if either nation shows itself belligerent, unsupportive, or recalcitrant in finding a solution to the affair, it will be construed as a virtual dissolution of the treaty which may then be considered null and void by the unoffending nation. Moreover, each Empire binds itself toward a friendly diplomatic relationship calculated to consider their mutual good. This Treaty may be disolved, upon a month's warning, by either of the participants giving due notice to the other of their intention towards dissolution. This Treaty is a non-aggression pact and is demonstrative of the unspoken prior condition already existing between the two illustrious Empires and should not be construed as ushering in a new status. With the best regards of the Council, plus your own truly's, Myles Bowditch, Secretary of State of Eslandola- 897 replies

There are more ways to take part than just one! As Legostone said, you did have a ship participate and even go down in the cause, and that won't go by us unnoticed! If you'd like to transfer them elsewhere, feel free! - but they're yours as of now for your help with that ship

To all holders of Letters of Marque from Eslandola! Well, my dear sirs, the war is over and we have come out victorious! - due to the help of each of you (in part...)! Unfortunately - yes, I know - that also means that the Letters of Marque must now be rescinded, but never fear! - there's always a Sea Rat pirate to take down, somewhere or other! Anyways, in token of our appreciation of all of your efforts and in celebration of this hard-fought victory, the nation of Eslandola has decided to recognize your blood, sweat, and tears with a small reward - viz., 15 DBs per ship. ...I do apologize if that was somewhat anticlimactic... Yours truly, E. T. Wilkinson de Chauncourtois E. T. Wilkinson de Cauncourtois On behalf of the High Council of Eslandola P.S. Yes, Captain Emil Meloche, we did skip you.

Challenge V - Princes of Garvey - RESULTS POSTED!
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, that was something we (I, and another leader had some questions about that too) had thought of, but you know, in terms of a contested competition where the winning side involves calculating averages, the probability of having a knock-out win is very small - the results are the added averages for each category, so if we were just calculating a straight total, the difference would be a great deal more. But if you want a clearer look at what I'm talking about, you can check out the total scores for the other three factions - the placing of Oleon and the Sea Rats is definitely no stalemate (or even close), but the difference in total score (added averages for each category) is less than the difference between Eslandola and Mardier. It was fairly close with a 3-2 category win - so not a Mardier-is-destroyed-forever thing or anything - but an honorable retreat from the island as the rules provided for if Eslandola came out on top seemed like the right way to go given the end results. And no problem, feel free to ask whenever!- 164 replies

Challenge V - Princes of Garvey - RESULTS POSTED!
Garmadon replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Challenge V Results: Princes of Garvey It is the end of an era – one which began with the discovery of a few islands and rapidly transformed many of the old regimes into colonizing powers. It has seen the birth of new rivalries and the rekindling of old, and the world of the Brick Seas has forever been changed… (Thanks for the scene above to Capt Wolf!) The greatest war of our days thus far has been fought and won in the Brick Seas, and no nation may truly say that it has been unchanged or unaffected. Mardier has been staggered and left reeling at the might of its rivals, and her king mourns that the days of its unequaled glory and power are no more! The troops have begun an honourable retreat from the Isla de la Many Names, leaving the Eslandolans in sole possession of the island. The Eslandolans, with the aid of some Corlanders and some open-minded freelancers from the Sea Rats, have managed to come out victorious! Cheering is to be heard in all the cities of the Empire - freedom and safety on the high seas have been restored! What new challenges might await it as it joins the other factions in more thorough exploration of its now enlarged New World colonies?... Overall Winning Side: 1st Place: Eslandola (3 Categories – Total Score: 107.92) - and as such it wins, The war... the Isla de Many Names, microbuild licenses (5 small, 3 medium, 2 large - free choice of category) to be placed in an extra settlement (if possible use one of the existing MAR locations) on the island, a royal fort license (to be placed anywhere on the island, three microbuilds required, showing different parts of the fort, or one large microbuild, license doesn't count against the fort limit of the corresponding settlement) 2nd Place: Mardier (2 Categories – Total Score: 97.61) Overall Faction Winners: 1st Place: Oleon (7 in Categories – Total Score: 87.34) - Prize, microbuild licenses (5 small, 3 medium, 2 large - free choice of category) to be placed anywhere, which are the results of the efforts of those trying to escape the Mardierian war to settle in other nations' territory, a royal fort license (to be placed anywhere, three microbuilds required, showing different parts of the fort, or one large microbuild, license doesn't count against the fort limit of the corresponding settlement), 3000 FIPs 2nd Place: Sea Rats (11 in Categories – Total Score: 79.09) - Prize; microbuild licenses (3 small, 2 medium, 1 large - free choice of category) to be placed anywhere, with the same reasoning as above, two large fort licenses (not upgradable, to be placed anywhere, one microbuild required per license, license don't count against the fort limit of the corresponding settlements), 2000 FIPs 3rd Place: Corrington (12 in Categories – Total Score: 64.55) microbuild licenses (2 small, 1 medium - free choice of category) to be placed anywhere, one large fort license (not upgradable, to be placed anywhere, microbuild required, license doesn't count against the fort limit of the corresponding settlement) 1000 FIPs Individual Winners: Prince of Garvey - @Maxim I (Total Score: 70.6) - Prize, Title and a 40% greater gain when trading in any GAR or ESL ports during the next four months/MRCAs or a 30% bonus on all landbased properties in ESL or GAR settlements built during the same period (the bonuses would not go away afterwards - just any new builds after that time would not be eligible for the bonus). Special Mention: @Captain Braunsfeld (Total Score: 67.5) Mardierian Ambassador(s) - @Kolonialbeamter (Total Score: 64.9) and @Ayrlego (non-leadership winner - Total Score: 33.7) - Prize, Title and a 50% trading bonus in MAR ports for four months/MRCAs or a 40% bonus on all landbased properties MAR settlements built during the same period. Special Mentions: @MKJoshA (Total Score: 59.5 - leadership), @SilentWolf (Total Score: 28.5), and @Bodi (Total Score: 26.7) For all the other individual prizes, please see this spoiler below (note - please include a note with you licence webform whenever one of these bonuses applies, or post in the Account Thread when an MRCA plus is given - it'll be you're job to see that these bonuses are counted): Category Results Summarized: Category A: "Mardier started off the war on a bad foot (though, of course, I doubt it has a good one anywhere), losing its already haphazard control of Terraversa, which is now recognized as an independent realm by everyone! - except for Mardier, of course... But what with it's other - erhm - problems and affairs, Mardier has stopped actively trying to reclaim control, and - well, maybe even King Alphonso XIII will be more tactful when it comes to the Death Guard..." ~ E. T. Wilkinson de Chauncourtois of the Eslandolan Continental Council Read more about those results here! Category B: "No, no, no, no, no!!! What's that, general?? You - you dare to burst into my palace with such bad news! What do you mean two of our three cities on the Isla del Medio are utterly ruined by the attacks, and that the other has been taken whole by Eslandola? What do you mean, the people are fleeing? What!?! The fort fell too! They're - evacuating?!? Enough!! You, my dear sir, are FIRED! Now begone, and never see my face again, you scoundrel!" ~ King Alphonso XIII of Mardier Read the category results here! Category C: "Ha, ha, ha! Who doesn't love the sight of terror-stricken greenies! Yes, believe it or not, that's still the only thing we're talking about over here at the KPA - though, mis-fortunately, we did just have to evacuate... again. Well! - we may have lost the war, but we still firmly believe the sea is on our side: those Eslandolans and there allies will pay dearly yet! We hear there is fear in those dishonest hearts of theirs, and they think that Mardier is likely dealing in dark arts and sacrificing to Oleon's Poseidon... We haven't yet heard back from the King on these rumours, but we'll go ahead and say that they're probably true!" ~ Editor in chief of the King's Port Advertiser Read the category results in full here! Category D: "Mardier's maritime power is crushed! And good riddance, we say! - and we're sure every good lover of liberty is with us! The infamous Bumbel Tuna Trading Company has just declared bankruptcy, and apparently its owner has decided to try his hand in the snail business instead - he calls them something like Los'cargó... Honestly, we over here just think his recent calamities have probably turned his mind." ~ Eslandola's Pontelli Daily Read more about the category D results here! Category E: "King Alphonso hadn't eaten much since he heard of the loss of the war until he received a letter this morning. Suddenly his appetite and spirits seemed to return (with a vengeance! I'll say!), and since breakfast he's been pacing up and down his balcony excitedly, muttering something about a second golden Mardierian age. His territories may have dwindled, but (oh yeah - I did glance at that letter when he wasn't looking, you see) the general's letter regarding the discovery of the city of gold provides good hope that Mardier can now rebuild itself from the ashes of the now concluded civil war. But will King Alphonso be able to guide the nation as Mardier seeks to redefine its future? The people will be eagerly awaiting General Higery's heroic and golden return. It's a pity he's too late to change the war's unfortunate end..." ~ Joshmy Briddel, Confidential Secretary to King Alphonso of Mardier Read the result details here! No problem! Yes, it is a hook - somewhat tricky to get attached, but fairly sturdy after that (more sturdy than the rest of the ship, at least! ) If you've got a golden hand that works well to, as per the ship seen here (two hands, no hook)! Ha, ha, thanks Captain B! Oh yeah, no problem!
-
Intriguing! Great builds, Captain B, those classic yellows and reds look superb, and the bridges and water (especially in the third shot and following) are excellent as well That Colonel Graybeard is a curious fellow too - looking forward to the next part!

Thanks all! Thanks mate! And certainly you may go ahead if you have the pieces! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with! Thanks Kai! And yes, I'm afraid the border does kind of overshadow the rest of the build, but ah well Yep, those colors are great! Thanks! And yes, we do (doesn't it )! - #16, unclaimed as of yet (map in spoiler). Thanks Legostone! Could be, certainly - I don't recall ever seeing one before myself, though, so Kai'll have to verify Thankee! No, you can't even breathe without parts falling off! Not quite that bad actually, but it definitely is less than a sturdy connection. Thanks a lot for the comment!

An Eslandolan privateer sails a bit too close to the volatile Gunpowder Island... Just a small vig using this ship which I had sitting around on my desk for a few days. I had been fiddling around and trying to make the smallest microship possible when Kai mentioned that she'd seen someone do something of the kind with a pair of epaulets, and, voilà, here you go! Credit for inspiration goes to whoever it was that thought of that first, haha! Probably not the smallest one possible, but anyhow... Oh, and in case you were all wondering - no, this is not a buildup for the next challenge or some major story event, at least not that I know of! One more shot: Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!

Oh, no! (Yet) Another meeting!!!
Garmadon replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
WHAT DID HE SAY??? Don't you know we're all dying to find out? Very funny story and nice build, Blackdeathgr, great job capturing the jungle feel, and neat use of those NINJAGO swords One of my favorite details is that pole with the fish being carried by the native - might have to steal borrow that sometime! -
Wonderful landscape as always, Fullplate, you somehow manage to make them look just so very realistic! The grain does look great, and the greenery and tree are fantastic as well! Very nice story too - looking forward to the next part! - and glad to see something from you in the Guilds again!
-
Ha, ha, very funny peaceful, totally unarmed meeting here, Bodi! Very nice story (and kudos to you for making the transaction fit in with your story! ), and the pier and docks look like they're in an appropriately rugged and dilapidated condition Excellent work all 'round!
-
The plot thickens... can't wait for more! Great build, Ecc, the buildings and figs are excellent, and the boat and gondolas are quite nice as well - for some reason the use of that battlement piece at the front of the ship is really catching my eye! The cart, raised bridge, and assassins are all great also, and I'll only nitpick about the water - it just seems a tad dull and flat, and I think some shade of blue or a little more of the greenish flair would have added just the right color to the build (though just the bricks for that amount of water, whatever the color, is impressive enough! ). Excellent job overall, though, and I'm really looking forward to building for this challenge and seeing where the story goes from here!

Very nice factory, Keymonus! - excellent interior (especially that grindstone), and the bit of room in front and waterwheel look great as well! Keep it up!
