  1. Ha, ha, ha, a nice promising start, I see! Just call in the backup if you ever need any help! Neat to see that ship again, even if it's only a small part. Being able to reuse builds and ships in the future for story purposes is one of the big things I miss about having to pretty much always destroy them right after pics
  2. Oh, I so would like to build a scene of a bunch of ETWC troops snooping around secretly for him behind King Fernando's back - arrrg! Wish I didn't have such a dreadfully long list of awesome things to build! Might just get something done anyways, we'll see
  3. Have been meaning to comment on this for a while - just wow! Excellent architecture and colors, and your stock of gold pieces continues to impress! Awesome design of that large bell, and wonderful additions of the garden and fountains. Great to see this awesome idea expanded on (very literally! ) too! Keep it up, mate, you never fail to astonish!
  4. Captain Whiffo and Mr. Bowditch both have left in writing that they vote for option 3D whenever the vote comes up. ...And, of course, Agent Guelds votes for option 3E
  5. Ho, what's this? Must be looked into instantly! Great way to show the (possible) end of Captain Morgan, and I'll echo all the others in saying the variety of different options is a great way to do it! I'll also second Captain G on the belaying pins and rack!
  6. Really neat build, Maxim, the tans look great with the brown, and I quite like those wood pillars on the corners up top! Very cool Eslandolan (and Garveyan) soldiers too, as always, and those generals look great as well!
  7. Quite cool, Titus! The crane and road work are great, and the roofing going on is just ingenious! I'll totally steal borrow that if I ever get a chance!
  8. @Ayrlego, thank you very much for the full explanation! - I figured that that part of the challenge description must have been missed by some or all of the Corrington members here, and glad to find out I was right Re: Challenge V - phwew! I must say, that was a very complicated thing to handle, but I will say, I believe it ended up even more equal than I could have hoped for between the two sides. A couple of specific notes to reply to some questions - (a) the challenge was already fully written before even the KMA, and I only re-wrote some parts of it and added ESL into the equation, and (b) it was originally going to be between Garvey and Mardier - that was the only reason for our alliance with GAR (to include our war in the challenge, as we all really wanted to find some good way to finish the thing), and ESL never got any practical benefit from that alliance, as far as I know. No DBs were borrowed from our allies, nor were any ships which they may have sent out subject to our control (Ska handles all of those NPCs). Now, given the first premises - Eslandola, a full-out faction, vs. Mardier, an NPC - it was clear that making things anything like equal in a challenge was well-nigh impossible (I've never really approved of NPCs, especially 'powerful' ones, for exactly this reason). I believe that ESL has the most active and probably largest member base, and that means, if nothing else, that the initial sides are incredibly lopsided. As such, I attempted to give every incentive to build for MAR I could (particularly, greater prizes for every individual entry, greater prize for the individual winner) without making the challenge very tilted against us - really, I can't think of much more I could have done to help MAR in the challenge, and if anything more had been suggested by leadership, I certainly would have at least seriously considered it. Even as it was, though, an Eslandolan or two were (legitimately) somewhat concerned about the advantages being somewhat against them. In the end, thanks especially to the efforts of Oleon ( ), the challenge ended up closer and more exciting than I think could have been expected with the lopsided premise to start with - I've got to really thank all of you who built for Mardier: I've been in a challenge where the sides were unbelievably unequal every since the onset (I mean, really, really unequal - an IB like output from everyone on the smaller side would still have probably left them in the dust), and a closer one is a great deal more fun for all (not to say losing the challenge in GoH wasn't fun, just a little... tiring )! As to the prize of the island - the intention of including ESL in the challenge was always very clearly (I thought, and I certainly made it as clear as I could, especially in leadership) to end the war and decide the fate of the island. The prizes were stated in the same words that the Corries' prize of an island of their choice was stated in, and reflected the wording of all island prizes in the past. As to it being too much for a prize, I can't really see that position very well - I mean, the usual before this was to hand out two islands to first and second places, and one to third and fourth! Remember, if it had occurred to us ( ) we could have just claimed Skaford Heights and another island as a prize for Challenge IV! (Or did those islands come out with challenge III? Can't remember ...) Is an operation like the KMA an ideal way to wage a war? No, of course not (well, maybe, IRL ). I can see how it might be construed as a land-grabbing tendency of Eslandola's, but I assure you, we've got more islands than we know what to do with! We didn't care (and don't) about the land en si. We did it for the same reason that Ayrlego started this idea - to enliven and make the game more fun and real. Yep, we made some mistakes, and should have warned leadership about it beforehand - at least! - but remember that we over in Eslandola are part of this larger BoBS community, and our goals are to have fun and make sure all the others have fun as well (Another reason I dislike faction PMs and have always discouraged them - I wish we operated a bit more like one community of LEGO builders coming together to build up this world, not like one community of Eslandolans, one of Sea Rats, etc. etc...) Anyways, by all means, this has happened and let's go through with this! - but do realize that it is Eslandolan land as of Challenge V that the settlement is seated on. I love a good collab and you all definitely had one! - it's only a pity that it involved a misunderstanding of the challenge and its results. And definitely don't be deterred from building on in Eslandola or any of our settlements - I'd love to see more inter-faction building and collabing grow out of this! And don't worry about poking fun at us generally - the more trashtalking, the merrier! (and hey, I did expect a duel a bit ago from all that trashtalking in the Introduction thread, whatever came of that? )
  9. Very cool, Kwatchi - great job with that slanting road, and happy to see you back again! Nice work with the facades as well, and as Captain B mentioned, those uniforms are quite neat!
  10. Very cool micro-build, Sir Stig, some lovely architecture here, especially for so small a scale!
  11. Great group of pirate captains and neat story, MKJ! - and even if he didn't make it out very well, I must admit that Francis Fheng is a really cool fig! Those lanterns are some great details as well!
  12. Very nice overall shaping on the fort, Capt Wolf, and I see you were still able to get one of your signature turrets in even at this scale! Nice job with the (block )houses as well, and good to see our fallen heroes duly honored!
  13. Very nice watchtower, dathil, the wood-work is excellent (and the inclusion of that medium flesh!), and the deer/elk head is just perfect! - awesome parts usage there! Altogether a great build, but some better photography would definitely help it - maybe try using a large piece of white paper as a background (just put it under the build and bend it up against the wall)?
  14. Looking great, SK! - that dark brown on the stairs is really awesome! Great texturing on that stone wall as usual too! I've got a build in the works for the Safe Haven challenge that I'd like to have ready for the summer joust as well - got to get back building for GoH more regularly!
  15. I'll echo all the others - excellent build and very cool plants! Bright green always works great as a contrast color, and the brown on the rising ground/rocks was an excellent choice as well! I also like the fence and inclusion of the Sea Rats' colours (and the rabbit ), and great work including that path up the cliff, I know how tough those can be! Altogether a very nice build - likely my favorite from you so far!
  16. Nice build, Bregir, and great temple in the center there! The architecture seems a very curious mix of native Indian and Greek styles, and it looks excellent together! Great addition of that light brick in there too! Good (temporary? ) end to the storyline as well, and that quote somehow sounds vaguely familiar
  17. Woo hoo, stories! Very nice start to this adventure, and I definitely hope you can find the time and motivation to keep it up! Ericc Evercrees looks like an awesome fig too - I'll second the others on the use of those capes! Looking forward to seeing this ship with a thousand dinghies!
  18. Awesome display, all! Lovely collab with lots of great parts and details!
  19. Thanks guys! I'm not going anywhere! I hope it'll give me more time to build (here and other things) too - Go ETWC!
  20. Ah! - very clever with those three maps zooming in more and more, I'd never thought of that before! Great job with the Red Fandango's room too, the furniture is really nice, and the arches above the windows work very well too! That golden crowbar is really cool too, actually
  21. Very nice little large factory, Captain B! Love that you were able to get so many details in on such a small base - the tiny overhand of the roof, the windows, and the cart out front probably being my favorites Excellent micro all around!
  22. "Excellent," observed Captain Whiffo - "My dear Mr. van der Meede has hit the nail on the head. If we're going to reduce the salaries, by all means, let's get rid of them entirely. Also, as I'm sure the Admius Legistrad would agree, it's a ridiculous administrative hassle to go through all that work for 5 or 10Dbs a member! Our time would be more usefully spent in making Dbs otherwhere instead of busily messing around with all the forms for such small sums." "I don't care!" rejoined Agent Guelds. "Or maybe I do. Yes, that's an excellent idea! I propose that all of you folks who want to reduce your salary can get rid of it, as long as half of each salary comes to me! That's the only way I'll vote for something of the sort!" Myles Bowditch had a sudden coughing fit. Once he recovered, "I'm with Captain Whiffo!" he remarked. And yes, Capt Wolf is right, *IPs are currently non-transferable, so unfortunately that won't be an option. It does make sense though, since they're supposed to be influence points, and you can't really move those around from person to person
  23. Aaaand Garmadon (yeah, that's me ) has officially retired from leadership of Eslandola (replaced by Legostone - a cheer for the new leader!) Carry on the great work, you all!
  24. Yes, please do shoot a PM with your address to @Phred (I know he is busy today, though, so it might take a bit for him to respond).
