  1. Nice build and story, Kai! - I particularly like that upside-down canoe shot The ruins and vegetation are really well done too, and, whether it looks like an orchid or not, that flower definitely isn't bad!
  2. Woot! Love that black flag thingy! Expect a barrage of pirates the moment I can get the time to build some! Oh sorry, I didn't just say that. Eslandolan, right... But there is that pirate character of mine I've always wanted to be able to licence a side-ship for, so...
  3. Love how that first build there pops, Ayrlego! - excellent choice of colors and textures, I'll have to try out that interspersed stud wall texture sometime as it works really well here. That's a nice recreation of the build by Bodi too - and I'm glad to see that he doesn't have as many broken tiles as you do! I must admit that they really do make your roofs stand out (in a good way, that is!) when you include them, though! That ship is really great too - awesome work with the colors, shaping, rigging, and sails; just about everything, that is! I also particularly happen to like the fact that you (Bodi, I mean ) managed to get a ship's boat in there, which is not very easy with the very limited space on a LEGO ship!
  4. Fantastic job with this, Kai, you're work definitely paid off! The treehouse is really nicely done, but the landscaping and vegetation take the cake - the rock-work, waterfall, tree-trunk texture, and colorful flowers are all superb! Great story and descriptions as usual as well!
  5. You can hardly go wrong with dark red, but you've taken it so much farther here than just 'good'! I'll just echo the others - this'll be one hard entry to beat!
  6. Yes! - totally digging this Love the medium blue against the tan walls, and the vines and flowers really put this over the top! Very good job with the interior too - in fact, I'm not sure there's a single thing I don't love about this build Fantastic job!
  7. Great to see that yellow line design again, Faladrin! And I quite like that group of representatives too - very nice combinations!
  8. Very clever and nice work, Legostone, I certainly wouldn't have guessed that without the additional pictures in the spoiler! Very impressive that you were able to get such a full-looking scene with so little! I'm digging that orchid too, very nice work!
  9. Great to see the classic colors doing there job here! A very vibrant and active scene - nice work, Faladrin!
  10. The exterior here is rather imposing... but it's totally the interior that steals the show for me And while the stairs and lecture hall are very nice, the library has to be my favorite thing about this whole build - just great! I'm so going to steal those bookshelves to use somewhere someday!
  11. A nice and cozy base for operations here! I'm liking how polished the whole build is, and the gold hints and curtains spice the scene up a bit!
  12. Great job with those birds, Bregir, all of them are quite nice, but I think the little sparrows would be my favorites - such a great little design! The vegetation and flowers are well done too, and those blue eggs are epic
  13. Always liked the Captain Joshua! Nice little build, Spud! - the vegetation works quite well, and the foam at the bottom of the waterfall works nicely too If I had some nitpicks, they'd be that I'm not really buying the slopes to start the waterfall with, and that a little more movement in the rest of the water might have been a good addition, but overall this is quite a nice build!
  14. Great work with that golden orchid, Elos, I'm really liking the shaping you got there - but then, how could I dislike a golden orchid, being an Eslandolan? That field of orchids really looks splendid as well, though!
  15. Very nicely done, Kevin! Great work on the ship all around, and the surrounding landscape is an excellent addition as well The sails are fabulous, and the tilted sides of the ship work quite well too. Plus, I always love a ship with a good interior, and you've really nailed that here, with lots of great details in there! Excellent work!
  16. Love that first picture, Faladrin: the wall is great - just the right amount of decoration to keep it from being plain, but not overdone either - the stain-glass windows fit in very well, and that's one of the best uses of muskets in Tudor-work that I think I've ever seen! Kudos on including all those interiors too, and I actually rather like that Barbarian King there! Nice work!
  17. Just wow! Very impressive build Gunman - absolutely huge, and packed full with typical Gunman NPUs too! I'm not sure I can say what's my favorite part, but I do really like the section with the parade and stands, the back of the stables, and the texture on the city walls Nice to see such an array of Mitgardian figs too, and the lighting and functions are a neat addition - great job all around!
  18. Very nice ship, Masa, I really like the raised fore and aft sections, and the way the side bulges out for side-decks in the middle is awesome as well! The sails and figs are excellent too, and as the others have said, great to see something from you in GoH again!
  19. Lovely stone-work, Maestro (as usual ) - that arch and the statue on top are fantastic! And although I didn't mention it on Flickr, I quite like that boat too - a very nice little vessel there, and those aren't easy to build!
  20. Woot! That's going to be great - can't wait to see it once it's done!
  21. What Kai said! Nice summary and analysis, Mesabi!
  22. This! Just what I was going to say Really nice work here, Faladrin, great looking vessel, and I agree with Kai on the name (and figurehead!) being great too! Kudos on the rigging too - excellent job all around!
  23. Thanks mate! I love building ornate interiors, so! The chair design is from one of SK's tutorials on Brickbuilt - a great place to go when you need the design for a quick piece of furniture! Thanks Faladrin! This is actually my second opening chimney... it's a pretty handy place to get the hinge bricks/plates in, but it can be a bit complicated to make sure you don't accidentally attach the two sides higher up! I hope to have more coming along this line fairly soon! Thanks! I've got some plans in mind for those DBs (might be rubbing together a few more first, though... ) Glad you liked it, and feel free to borrow away! Thanks Kai, had to get some good use out of all those epic clips! The doors were just about my favorite thing about this build too - totally going to have to reuse the idea sometime! Oh no, of course not! Who'd think that? Thanks mate! And I couldn't help myself from getting that piano into a build again!
  24. Great figs and nice work with the descriptions, LJ! My favorites are the fisherman, falconer, guardian, and cartographer, but the others (especially the Dwelfs) are really neat too! Can't wait to see what more you're working on for Alnya! Oh, and love Goren the Miner's description!
  25. Previously: Sinking of the Shuriken Uncle snored deeply, rocking slowly back and forward in his chair. He was in his favorite room, taking his mid-day nap, and everything around was quiet and still, except the draught drifting slowly down the chimney. Suddenly there was a slight movement over in the corner, and something seemed to be moving surreptitiously down the chimney... and, in fact, that was exactly what was happening. Our friend, the Garveyan Smuggler Captain, popped his head out and took a glance around - coast clear. Well, there was Uncle dozing over by the door, but everybody knew that when Uncle was asleep, Uncle was asleep, so that was that. He winked and pulled himself back up a little ways. There was a little secret about that chimney... --------------------------------------------------- Some time later, as the Captain rode away in a little jollyboat on his third trip to the ship with another boat-full of Uncle's treasure (the compartment went some ways in through the wall, you see - and it actually is fairly long and full IRL! ), his mate queried, "Um, so Cap'n, how was it that you found out where ol' Uncle kept all his DBs?" "I be a student of physiognomy, matey," he winked, "and Uncle had the kind of a face of somebody who stashes all his DBs in the chimney." "Ah," was all the mate could return. He was a bit flummoxed with the Captain's power of reading countenances. But the fact was, that the Captain had actually just been poking his nose in to check in on Guy's famous (or infamous, if you happen to be in debt) Uncle, when he'd come across the little door there... but no use telling his mate such a lame story as that! Figless: ------------------------------------------------------------ Hey all! Just a little BoBS build from me, to officially state the fact that I'm stealing 6,000 DBs from Guy's Uncle (woot!) - or to put it more accurately, our mysterious Garveyan Smuggler is. Hopefully there'll be more along this storyline - including what he's planning next - coming soon... (and if you're all trembling in your boots, that's the goal Jk!) Credit for the chair design (ever so slightly modified) goes to SK and LJ's tutorials on Brickbuilt! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!
