I'm not sure which species it is, but I can try and check my original picture and see if I can spot the scientific name on the display. Just checked some sites, and it should be The woolly mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius

Here a mammoth and a sabre tooth together. You can guess the size yourself, but the "cat" is big: http://flic.kr/p/ff4Y7f

Even the graphic logo "night racers" is a rip off of Need 4 Speed Underground, an old game. -

I sometimes joke that we need axles with stop at both ends -

Maybe the ball with a cross hole through it (part exist), can actually squeeze in between the half-beams, and then be rotated so the ball surfaces align. -

Some kind of guide yes, that allows the ball to slide in, but does not make the ball jump out again too easy. -

The material in the ball socket behind the ball has no real impact on the friction a ball will have in there. And surely it should be made with a play, though as low friction as possible. But the hub design will never work. To get a ball into the socket, the material of the two half-beams has to bend way too much. A material that can handle such short lasting but very high deformation, can't at the same time include cross holes, that has way different demands to the material used. But it's interesting to see you guys having ideas about designs. I'm the Technical Designer for the 2015 Technic parts. My first year in the Technic team. I hope to have more influence of what parts will appear in 2016. RIght now I'm just working on the stuff the set designers has developed. Erland Part Design -

EB Members Trading Collectable Minifigs Portal
Front replied to WhiteFang's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I would like to have the complete London Olympic series, all 9. I have non yet. I can trade with nearly any figure from the first 11 series. But I have most from the early series, less from the recent ones. I would prefer trading with someone within EU, and prefer to get all nine in one trade. -
Efferman's Custom Parts

There are more simple ways to make a turntable that will not "jump out". Simpler means not 3 parts but 2. Lookt at how the new small turntable is made. That's what we need in bigger size :-) Erland Part Design You don't make slots etc. to keep material usage low, you do it to keep as equal material thickness as possible in the part. Moulding a part with big differences in material thicknesses is problematic. Look at a standard beam, and notice the wavy sides. This is due to different speeds of cooling after the molding process, caused by differences in material thickness. Erland Part Design -
Nixels ? No idea what that is.

LEGO: the way to reach the equality of the sexes?

Maybe those who want to tell the computer what to do. Doh ! -
People tend to glorify things from the past. Had there never been LEGO monorail sets, and it was launched as a entirely new product in 2014, AFOL would all jump at it, claiming it was useless, and totally redundant because of trains. Btw. that mould in the first post in this topic, is so outdated. Erland Part Design

The toy fair in Nurnberg (Germany) never allowed pictures at booths. Actually you can't just walk into many booths, you need an appointment. The toy fair is for costumers, not consumers. Erland Part Design

No, it is used on XT-4 too.

I have been telling, and will continue to tell the designers to implement this black bone in a future set. Not sure I will be succesful though. Erland Part Design

Unicorn horns 'not right' for current horse helmet?
Front replied to badbob001's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The new helmet looks to have a standard hollow stud. No shaft on any part is short enough to fit perfectly down a hollow stud. Erland, Part Design -
I guess this must be the first time we see the 2011 generation ball joint beams in translucent plastic. .....edit:.. I just realise, half a minute after writing this, that the revised "old hand" piece (y-joint) has been out in brigth orange translucent plastic, like in Jawblade http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6216-1 and Toxic Reapa http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6201-1 :-)
