[TC6] Fiat Panda Dakar
piterx replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
exactly.... you can buy them separately from bricklink... modifying is cutting, bending, re-shaping parts.... dismounting doesn't mean the same thing :) (at least i hope lol) they're performing great....i've used tham in a lot of mocs and i feel so comfortable with them, you can set the lenght and the way they're mounted, i think that's the best thing i've built so far :P -

nothing has been modified....if i dismount a shock absorber it's not modifying :P yeah those aren't original but if i have to stick to the rules i'll dismount a regular shock absorber.... actually i'll probably need to dismount the yellow ones as i'll need something stiffer than the ones im using now -

finally i started building :) i reinforced the autoclutch as it was causing some problems in the pinin, and it was also using modified parts such as a cut half axle to fill the rubber parts... i'll probably put a beam to keep the grey gears together proportions seem fine....now the hardest part: steering system... i hate it more than gearboxes ahah hope you'll like it! -
lol i kinda like the display more than the actual model :P cool stuff overall btw!

that piece is cool! never seen it before... if it fits the proportion it will definitely do its job :) yeah connectors could do a good job but the shape won't be exactly the same....i might go into standar pieces maybe -

i was wondering on how to make the front lights....hmmm mumble mumble :P anyway i think i'll go for the 5 doors version just because it's gonna be lighter even if i like more the one from the first pic in 3 days i'll start building and i'll update this thread...if you have any suggestion for the front lights let me know :D -
what about this solution? might not be perfect for flat surfaces but it's perfect for snow and dirt :)

regular springs man...just dismount them from the usual shock absorber.... actually i bought another spring so i didn't have to dismount it :P -
:P inspiring one of your favourite builders... awesome getting instructions as a christmas present from him: PRICELESS lol great job sheepo! it performs really well and of course it's so cool that it's modular :) this is what i'd call something really well engineered

yeah i will :D even if this kind of building is not for real offroad performances i'm pretty sure it will go on some offroad paths as well :) i really hope it turns out the way im figuring it.... actually as i said before i'd love to use two RC motors for this one just to give it a nice maximum speed when it reaches the third gear.... otherwise it's gonna have only decent performances just like the pajero....wich turns to be really god for something that weighs over 1 kg :) -

i think i might go for completely black, white rims and red seats....it would look good i guess :P big wheels would force me to change the way it's built, id need to add live axles instead of mcpherson... if i have time i can try to find a way to convert it easily :D -

im checking proportions by now....seems like i'll need to make it a little bit wider because of the 4WD...i might find another way tho :) im happy you liked the idea! it would look nice in black as well! or maybe like this XD -
helo guys :) This contest really inspires me a lot! So here's the plan: I wanna build, or at least try to build this car for the contest! I wasn't that happy to build something usual like an offroader, so i moved to a car that might look more original :) A few ideas for this model: - It's gonna have 4 motors or maybe 5 depending if i need two XL motors for drive... so 2 L or XL motors for drive 1 servo for steering 1 servo for breaking 1 servo for changing gear - the gearbox will be the 3+R i recently developed wich i think is gonna work great - I hope i can add a manual high-low reduction as well... - There will be the usual auto clutch - I'd like to have brake lights like in the pajero - 4 wheel drive - the model is probably gonna be red (sigh) - Mcpherson strut - i'd love powering it with two RC motors but im not sure it will work... Anyway, i haven't checked out if it's possible building this model yet....but you all guys can be sure it will be a car, it will have a gearbox and it's going to be performant enough for its size :P hope you'll like it! ps: here's the gearbox i'll use ;)

i wanted to build something like my previous pajero....this seems the right chance to do it :P

yeah lipko i know what you mean! im an hardcore builder as well...i love having problems....but actually i love having problems that can be solved :D there's no way, anyone here, will make a short front double wishbone axle with drive... we have wishbones, we have links all we need is a hub and a short u joint :P try imagining something like this for a second...im pretty sure we won't see so many live axles anymore around xD
