  1. The old cinema has been split into a arcade with several shops. Currently upstairs there is a Tattoo shop a dance studio and residence. Down stairs a few vacant shops, a coffee shop, bakery, lolly shop, hair dressers x 2, an insurance shop and a take away food shop. My recreation for now has a coffee shop, bakery, hair dresser and residence. Thanks, me too. I'll be post pictures asap once it's all done. Thanks for you comments. As above it was split into an Arcade some years ago and has lots of little shops. The thought has crossed my mine but it comes down to cost and I've already spent lots on the project. I haven't worked out how many tiles it would take but it would be in the 1000's of studs. Thanks for commenting.
  2. Hi all, One thing I'd like to see is monthly/bi monthly build contests/funtests. Someone or a Mod could pick a random 'seed' piece and we have to feature that part in the given subject be it vehicles, buildings, animal etc. There doesn't have to be voting just a little something new to do which could involve all of us as a group. Cheers Brendan
  3. No cinema going in this building but that does give me an idea for the future. I'm making this one up to match what's currently in the building so people will recognise it at the fete.
  4. Yes I can see how a one sided street would work better for play. My kids have been mucking around with it and they've enjoyed it lots as you can see below. WIP of the interior of the old Picture Theartre.
  5. Sorry not much help, but I placed an ordered on the 4th of Sept it was dispatched the next day and I received it on the 13th of Sept. I also ordered from PAB which was dispatched a day later and received a day after my main order. I'd wait for your current order before ordering any more. On topic, I was extremely disappointed when I tried to order a Tower Bridge set from Myer only to find there wasn't any stock online. But yesterday whilst on holidays on the Gold Coast my wife asked an assistant at Pacific Fair if they had any sets out the back. The sales assistant popped out the back and brought back a set which was open. She asked if I minded and I was in shock and of course I said 'NO I DON'T MIND!' Checked contents tonight and all is good. It's my Xmas pressie so it's going under the bed for a few months before it gets put together.
  6. Thanks, only problem would be the 2000km between us. Thanks glad you like. After putting a few buildings together for a display in my local toy shops front window the Interest has grown in my town and all local papers have run stories about the mini town. It even made the front page of one of the papers and it was the buy line for the day (large posters that go out the front of the newsagents). That's my ugly mug in the middle with my son and Boyd the Toy shop owner.
  7. Speechless, so many fantastic details that mention just a few doesn't seem to do it any justice. Thanks for sharing with us Kristel. EDIT: Congrats on making the Frontpage too...
  8. Nice MOC I like the offset of the front walls, the landscaping and pool look great too. Any interior in the bungalow?
  9. Thanks eurotrash, I'm trying my best to match the buildings but time is running out so short cuts are now being taken. I like the pub too and would like to spend a bit more time on it in the future. Thanks, I'm hoping it impresses them too! Thanks LT yeah I'd say I was inspired by your many town creations. I have spent the last few days refining the Picture Theatre which is turning out great, will post pics in the next few days. Thanks Timmy, as I said above I'm trying my best to match colors and architecture. I've drunk a few liquid ambers in the pub so I know it well. I've put all the buildings together a few times to work out sizes etc and took a few pictures for reference. It's going to be a lot bigger then I expected. At least 1200mm x 2400mm plus stand off fence. Lots more to come thanks for looking.
  10. Hi All, I've been working and a big project over the last few months and thought it was time to start sharing. My plan is to build (almost all done) all the commercial buildings of my home town of Maclean NSW Australia. The town was established in the late 1800's early 1900's and has some beautiful architecture from all era's. There is really only one main street which make the task so much easier. Some of the buildings have interiors whilst other are just facades. All the buildings (complete with roads cars and other goodies) will be coming together for a BIG display at a local school Fete coming up in October. There is around 30 buildings in total but I won't bore you with all of them just the good ones. Hardware Store with interior. More detailed pictures of the Hardware Shop Click Here. Originally a Bank, now a solicitors and offices. Built in 1878 is the oldest building in town. Commonwealth Bank Building complete with ATM. Palace Arcade was an Picture Theatre in it's day. This one is a favorites and I'm working on an interior at the moment. Will post pictures soon. Here's a little comparison photo. A Pub with interior. That's all for now, but for those interested in the town I'm sure you can find my little site dedicated to the build. Regards Brendan
  11. Wish they would release it world wide I'd get a couple of sets for sure.
  12. This is a great, brilliant, detailed and beautiful MOC. So many thanks for sharing it with us. Just to hard to pick a favorite piece.
  13. Great little story 'Mr Brickfan" and that shopping list is just amazing and i'm so very very jealous. I guess you came in close to your budget? I dare say you'll be back at Ikea soon enough looking/buying some sort of storage solution for all those bricks.

  22. Oh damn I was coming in for some soup today.... When will you reopen the doors? or are you selling out to the developers? Thanks for sharing this terrible news....
  23. Great bridges you'v created there. It wouldn't take much to motorise them and you could have a simple switch so if you need to enter or leave quickly you could manually lift them. Thanks for sharing and that slopped street I would love to see more on that one day over in 'CITY'
  24. Really different and really nice MOC eurotrash. Love the cheap beds. Never heard of flop house before is that similar to back packers which we have here down under?
