Something for a Lady
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks for noticing the (adapted) quote I did a new version for the mini-challenge (this build is actually too wide). (I have done a bit of research on tulips to find out which can be built with lego colours) The tea utensils are probably for sale! Thanks, mate! Thx. It was fun to play around with those curtains. Has anyone realized the SNOT technique for the left wall? -
[Entry for the September 2021 Faction Mini-Challenge]: A East Wind Trading Company shop in Pontelli: Shopkeeper: Colonel Brickinson. I am honoured to see you, how are you. Brickinson: I'm fine, thanks Shady. Shopkeeper: Please call me Slim. What can I do for you? Brickinson: May I have your attention, please. I would like to buy something for my wife. Something nice. I heard that tulips are quite the rage. Shopkeeper: Quite so. May I recommend a "Royal Blue" or a "Orange Emperor"? Brickinson: Are these those flower-thingies here on your desk? Shopkeeper: Precisely, Sir. Brickinson: I think she will like that blue flower-thing. Shopkeeper: The "Royal Blue" tulip, Sir. Brickinson: Alright. How much is it? Shopkeeper: That will be a fifth of a dubloon. Brickinson: Quite expensive - but ok. Talking about fractions of dubloons, have you met that guy from Corrington who is talking about a new system of coinage? Shopkeeper: Nope. Brickinson: Well, then, here's your money. Please stand up. One more question: Are your flowers genuine? Shopkeeper: Of course, Sir. Maybe other shops are just imitating, but my tulips are of the highest quality. Brickinson: Good. Have a nice day then! Well you all know and love the storyline of Captain Argentum and have seen Chapter XXI where the huge wave was approaching Lady Cora. Due to some error in the editing process, the subsequent picture to the story was lost for some time. Now, luckily, we have been able to reproduce the picture and this will close a hole in the storyline. Here we go: Lady Cora’s Course of Action II We hope this explains why Lady Cora's departure was delayed by several minutes. Please continue reading Chapter XXII.

Ahem. We have seen Commodore Spoon sailing lately https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/187094-commodore-t-spoon-is-sailing/ And now we find him in Pontelli indeed at the start of our story - talking to a merchant. Commodore Spoon: So, my dear friend Habakus, I have come to you on an important quest. Senior Merchant Habakus (member of the East Wind Trading Company): Yes, Commodore, how can I be of service? C. Spoon: Well. S.M. Habakus (m.o.t.EWTC): Well, well. C.S.: Let's sit down, won't we. S.M.H. (EWTC): How forgetful of me, please have a seat. C.S.: Yes, this is better. H.: Sugar muffin? S.: Oh, sure. Thanks. H.: That is half a dubloon then. S. (blushes): Right, forgot you were on business. Then I should stick to my diet. H.: So you come into my house on the day of my daughter's birthday and want some help? S.: Yepp. Let's be frank. H.: But you are Commodore Spoon, not Frank. S.: Right. Where was I? I have made the acquaintance of a lovely lady and I would like to bring her an exquisite gift. H.: Now we are talking. What about a pearl-gold dragon sword hilt? S.: For a lady??? H.: Right. A broomstick? S.: For a lady??? Look, Habakus. H. (confused): Where? S.: I want to give her a present that is unprecedented (but well presented). H. (smiling brightly): Then, my old friend, I have something for you, which is really special. This tulip. S.: The red and green thingy here on the table? H.: Precisely. It is actually a quite rare flower. And beautiful too. I am sure she will like it. S.: Ok, I'm in. How much is the tulip? H.: The "Ad Rem" is just a tenth of a dubloon. By the way, did you see that guy from Corrington who is trying to introduce a now system of coinage? S.: No, not yet. Sounds funny though. Ok, I will take the "Ad Rem" And this is how the whole thing started. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just realized that this build would actually work for the mini-challenge... Didn't know this when I built it. The story so far: Something for a Lady (You are here) Buying Some Flowers Captain Cookies next move Gray's Universal Store What is he doing here? Commodore T Spoon is sailing
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You got lucky, I have another picture: and yes: the ship is longer than the standard hull. You can also see this on the third picture from the top, just slightly above the letter "C" there is a small gap between the hull and the extension. Anyway this little boat is of course way over the top. But I liked the idea of including everything that a much larger ship would have Maybe I also should have added a gun deck! -

You got me hooked with the title - and I was not sure what to expect Quite a cunning plan, the doctor has envisioned here! Fine build with fine spiral staircase, I must say. -

I'm not Dutch, but I am learning the language in order to read Dutch comic books (and, ok, we love to go on vacation there). Bedankt! I am happy that somebody asked The hull is from 7072: Captain Kragg's Pirate Boat - that short lived "large pirates"-series. The large hull was probably the best part. Thanks. I think they still have that ice cream shop in Pontelli -
