  1. I assume the pneumatic cylinder is used as a shock absorber, not as some sort of adjustable suspension.
  2. You can ask a moderator to merge your threads into one. Some guys here have really long and cool threads where they post all their things instead of making a new thread for each one.
  3. 14: 10 11: 6 13: 4 10: 3 9: 2 17:1
  4. Interesting front suspension at this scale. Do you have an XL? I'd like to see it go a bit faster Sucks that your servo is dying. I really despise the unremovable PF wires. I think out of 4 of my m-motors 3 have stopped working due to broken wires.
  5. Hands down best transformation so far! Got audible chuckles out of me.
  6. I really like how the wheels and black tracks look. The rest is cool too :P
  7. Have you tried running it with the pen attached in a "wrong" place? I wonder how the pattern would change with such offset.
  8. I believe its aiming for a stretched tire look
  9. Here my front suspension for a muscle car project. I tried to make it like the real thing, the two 15m beams are the main chassis beams. Surprisingly rigid with all that space to fit a V8 in I'm using 81.6x34 tires fitted on 56mmx43mm wheels. MuscleCarFront.lxf
  10. I'm so glad you are building more again! Your vehicles are always so clever and creatively built. How was the rolling shot done? Was it a not-rolling wider shot you cropped and rotated accordingly? Or did you do some mad rotating camera rig?
  11. Looking good but I am a bit worried that the lower ball joint might pop out when the suspension is compressed. Mounting the shock to the upper arm wouldn't work and connecting the arms might not be possible due to the diffrent lenghts.
  12. Can you not use the alternative colors already available? Blue: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=42289&colorID=7 Red: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=42289&colorID=5 A bit pricey but you apparently don't need many.
  13. They look like small shock absorbers fitted with springs from a larger ones.
  14. As a person who has never owned a 8880 in my childhood, I lack the nostalgia goggles. It's a nice set and sure it is complex for its time but I cant understand why there are no doors. Lookswise it is ok, a bit boring perhaps. I actually much prefer the B-model even if it isn't as complex. So my 8880 that I only got as an "grown-up" is currently assembled as the B-model.
  15. Really good looking, tough angles in such a small model. Not the old ones ;)
  16. If you want to post more pictures you need to use a hosting site for your pictures and link them in your post. Some popular sites are Brickshelf, Flickr and Imgur. I personally like Imgur. Brickshelf is specifically made for Lego images. It's downside is that you need to wait a while before your pictures become public.
  17. Oh man just imagine what would happen if Nicjasno got those rims on his hands Nice work as always Effe!
  18. One use is making diagonal driveshafts that aren't exaclty pythagorean in their lenght. I think the 8110 pto driveshafts are like this?
  19. Well thats about the only way to make it dangerous. It's not toxic and won't absorb into your blood but will asphyxiate you if there isn't enough oxygen for you to breathe.
  20. You would get terrible performance. Worse than just drivig with the XL straight. Needlessly complicated. One gas that you can get compressed and is safe (fire/plastic reactions) would be helium. Don't know about cost though.
  21. Yes! Theme packs would be perfect. Add in a booklet for multi-pack designs and you got a business plan too It could be a way to introduce special parts as well (new shape or color) at a slightly higher cost of course to eliminate losses from lower sales.
  22. Hi! As I'm currently living away from my collection a thought came to mind: If there was a modern technic universal set, an essentials kit so to speak, which parts would it need? For sake of the thread I'll impose a limit that "everything" is not a proper answer. Think more of the old universal sets. First I'd like it contain all the modern gears twice, maybe more of the smaller gears like the bevels. A sinlge large turntable and a small one too. As for differentials one of the new ones would suffice for most simple things. Treads could be left out but a bit of chain would be good. For structural elements some square and H-frames would be needed. Throw some bone frames in too. PF or pneumatics would be nice but I'd rather have more regular parts. Wheels would need to be in a sensible scale. 62.4 x 20 S are good all around and are mid-scale. Snowmobile suspension elements and springs could be used for many things. Of course a selection of beams, axles and pins. duh! So what would you have?
  23. Yeah I think around 5 of my 8 m-motors are broken. Most likely the wire. And it's not like I handle them roughly >:( External cord wouldn't neccesarily add any bulk if it wasn't stud based like the old system. The connector could be made really thin. Then again it would cost more. I'd pay for that though.
  24. Maybe try to make the sequence be controlled by one mechanism for all legs and it needs to have more resistance than the moving cylinders combined. So the walker would have a "brain" that won't do the next movement before the last one is completed.
